Chapter 25 - THE LAST SON OF AJILOMI

EXT. AJILOMI VILLAGE – NIGHT

The village is silent.

Torches flicker.

The air is thick with grief.

Ogunlaja's body lies in the center.

Wrapped in royal cloth.

The warriors stand around him.

Their faces are unreadable.

Akin steps forward.

His heart is heavy.

The people stare.

Waiting.

Then—

A voice breaks the silence.

CHIEF ELDER

"Who will lead us now?"

Murmurs.

Eyes turn to Akin.

But he shakes his head.

AKIN

"I did not come here for a throne."

A pause.

Then another voice—

VILLAGER 1

"But you fought for us!"

VILLAGER 2

"You defeated the king!"

VILLAGER 3

"You are Ogunlaja's blood!"

Akin clenches his fists.

He does not want this.

But destiny does not ask.

It commands.

Then—

A sound.

A slow clap.

Someone steps forward.

A tall man.

With cold eyes.

And a smile that does not reach his face.

HIGH CHIEF ADETORO

"Not so fast."

The crowd turns.

Adetoro raises his hand.

His voice is calm.

But there is steel beneath it.

HIGH CHIEF ADETORO

"Leadership is not given by battle alone."

He looks at Akin.

His gaze sharp.

HIGH CHIEF ADETORO

"You may be strong. But do you understand power?"

A challenge.

A test.

A moment of fate.

Akin meets his gaze.

And does not blink.

EXT. AJILOMI ROYAL HALL – LATER

A council meeting.

The elders sit.

Akin stands.

Adetoro watches him.

Waiting.

Then—

The first question.

ELDER 1

"If Ajilomi is attacked tomorrow, what will you do?"

Akin does not hesitate.

AKIN

"Fight."

Some elders nod.

Others remain silent.

Adetoro smirks.

HIGH CHIEF ADETORO

"And if the enemy is too strong?"

Akin steps forward.

His voice steady.

AKIN

"Then I will become stronger."

A pause.

The room shifts.

A new energy.

A new leader.

Then—

A final voice.

An elder rises.

His face weathered.

His voice calm.

ELDER 2

"Akin. Do you accept this burden?"

Akin closes his eyes.

He sees his past.

The pain.

The battles.

The loss.

Then he sees his future.

And he knows—

There is no other path.

He opens his eyes.

And speaks.

AKIN

"Yes."

The room erupts.

Some cheer.

Some whisper.

Adetoro smiles.

Not in defeat.

But in amusement.

This is far from over.

But for now—

Akin is King.

EXT. AJILOMI PALACE – NIGHT

The sky rumbles.

Thunder echoes.

The village sleeps.

But inside the palace—

A storm is brewing.

INT. AJILOMI PALACE – ROYAL CHAMBER

Akin sits alone.

His crown rests on the table.

His mind is restless.

The weight of leadership presses on him.

Then—

A voice.

Soft.

Familiar.

IWA

"You cannot carry this alone."

Akin looks up.

Iwa steps inside.

Her eyes gentle.

But knowing.

She sits beside him.

Silence.

Then—

AKIN

"What if I fail?"

Iwa smiles.

IWA

"Then you rise again."

A pause.

Then—

A knock.

Urgent.

Akin rises.

The doors swing open.

A guard rushes in.

Breathless.

PALACE GUARD

"My King! Trouble at the gates!"

Akin grabs his sword.

And moves.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – MOMENTS LATER

Torches burn.

Warriors stand ready.

A crowd has gathered.

Then—

A figure emerges.

Wrapped in a dark cloak.

His presence is heavy.

Powerful.

Akin steps forward.

His voice firm.

AKIN

"Who are you?"

The figure lowers his hood.

And the crowd gasps.

It is Adetoro.

But his eyes have changed.

Dark.

Burning with something unnatural.

He smiles.

ADETORO

"Did you really think… it would be this easy?"

Lightning strikes.

And the storm begins.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

Lightning flashes.

Thunder rumbles.

Akin grips his sword.

Across from him—Adetoro.

His eyes glow.

His smile is eerie.

The villagers whisper.

Fear creeps into their voices.

Then—

Adetoro speaks.

ADETORO

"You should have killed me when you had the chance."

Akin narrows his eyes.

AKIN

"What happened to you?"

Adetoro chuckles.

ADETORO

"I have seen what lies beyond power… and I have returned to claim what is mine."

Akin stiffens.

The warriors tighten their grips.

Something is wrong.

Then—

A deafening roar.

From the shadows—

Dark figures emerge.

Cloaked.

Armed.

Their eyes… unnatural.

Adetoro raises his hand.

And the attack begins.

EXT. AJILOMI STREETS – CHAOS

Screams.

Blood.

Clashing steel.

The streets burn.

Akin fights like a demon.

His sword moves fast.

Each strike is deadly.

But—

The enemies do not fall.

Even when cut down… they rise again.

PALACE GUARD

"My King! They are not human!"

Akin grits his teeth.

He knows.

Something is very wrong.

Then—

A voice whispers.

In his mind.

Dark.

???

"Use it."

Akin freezes.

The voice returns.

???

"Unleash your true self."

Akin's chest tightens.

His hands tremble.

Then—

A hand grabs him.

Iwa.

Her eyes full of fear.

IWA

"We have to retreat!"

Akin hesitates.

Looks around.

His people are dying.

His village burns.

Then—

He makes a choice.

EXT. AJILOMI PALACE – NIGHT

Akin and his warriors retreat.

The gates close.

For now—

They are safe.

But the war is far from over.

Akin stands at the palace steps.

Watching.

His village in flames.

And in the distance—

Adetoro smiles.

A promise of what is to come.

EXT. AJILOMI PALACE – NIGHT

The air is thick with smoke.

Screams echo in the distance.

Akin stands on the palace walls, watching.

The village burns.

His people suffer.

His fists clench.

Then—

A voice beside him.

Ogunlaja.

OBA OGUNLAJA

"This is only the beginning."

Akin doesn't turn.

He knows.

And he hates it.

INT. PALACE CHAMBER – WAR COUNCIL

The great hall is tense.

The elders murmur.

The warriors exchange nervous glances.

Akin stands at the head of the table.

Maps.

Plans.

But—

No solutions.

Then—

Iwa steps forward.

IWA

"We cannot win this battle with steel alone."

Silence.

All eyes turn to her.

She swallows.

Then speaks—

IWA

"There is another way."

Akin narrows his eyes.

He knows what she means.

But he doesn't want to hear it.

OLADELE

"Magic."

The word hangs in the air.

Whispers spread.

Fear.

Doubt.

Akin says nothing.

He just stares at his hands.

Then—

A voice.

Deep.

Commanding.

Ogunlaja.

OBA OGUNLAJA

"Akin… you must decide."

Akin closes his eyes.

Inside him—

The power stirs.

But to use it…

Is to become something else.

Something he may not control.

EXT. AJILOMI STREETS – MIDNIGHT

Akin walks alone.

His mind is chaos.

His heart is heavy.

Then—

A shadow moves.

A hooded figure steps forward.

Mysterious.

Powerful.

Their voice—

Smooth.

Dangerous.

???

"You seek answers."

Akin stiffens.

He grips his sword.

But the figure—

Just laughs.

???

"You already know the truth."

Akin swallows.

Because deep down—

He does.

But he fears what it means.

EXT. AJILOMI STREETS – NIGHT

The hooded figure stands before Akin.

The air is cold, charged with unseen energy.

Akin's grip tightens on his sword.

But something tells him… this battle is not one of steel.

The figure tilts their head, amused.

???

"You are at a crossroads, Akin."

Akin remains silent.

He watches.

Waits.

The figure takes a step closer.

The shadows around them twist.

Then—

Their hood falls back.

Revealing—

A face Akin never expected.

ELERIOGUN.

The forgotten warrior-mystic.

The one who vanished years ago.

The one who defied Ogunlaja's rule.

Akin's breath catches.

AKIN

"You… should be dead."

Eleriogun smirks.

ELERIOGUN

"Perhaps I was."

Silence.

Then—

Eleriogun raises a hand.

The air crackles.

The ground trembles.

Dark energy swirls in his palm.

Akin's heart pounds.

He knows what this is.

Forbidden magic.

The power of the ancients.

ELERIOGUN

"You cannot win this war as you are."

Akin stiffens.

His instincts scream against this.

But deep down—

He knows.

He felt it on the battlefield.

Felt the power stirring inside him.

The power he was afraid to use.

Eleriogun steps forward.

His voice soft, persuasive.

ELERIOGUN

"I can teach you, Akin."

A flicker of temptation.

Then—

A voice.

Strong.

Clear.

Not Eleriogun's.

IWA.

She stands at the end of the street.

Her eyes burn with warning.

IWA

"Akin, don't."

Akin swallows.

His gaze shifts between them.

Eleriogun.

Iwa.

Two paths.

Two futures.

And only one choice.

EXT. AJILOMI PALACE – DAWN

Akin kneels before Ogunlaja.

The Oba watches him carefully.

Behind them—

The warriors stand ready.

The final battle approaches.

Ogunlaja's voice is calm.

Measured.

OBA OGUNLAJA

"You have made your choice?"

Akin nods.

His fists clench.

The weight of his decision settles in his chest.

He has chosen his path.

Now—

He must live with it.

Or die by it.

EXT. AJILOMI VILLAGE – DAWN

The air is thick with tension.

Ajilomi's warriors stand in formation, weapons in hand.

The villagers watch from a distance, whispering among themselves.

Today—

Everything will change.

Akin stands at the front.

His grip tightens on his sword.

His decision has been made.

Now—

He must face the consequences.

Ogunlaja steps forward.

His gaze is unreadable.

Then, his voice booms.

OBA OGUNLAJA

"A storm approaches."

The warriors nod in unison.

They know what must be done.

From the distance—

The enemy army appears.

Hundreds.

No—

Thousands.

Marching towards Ajilomi.

The final battle begins.

EXT. BATTLEFIELD – MIDDAY

Swords clash.

Arrows fly.

The earth trembles under the weight of war.

Akin moves through the chaos.

His blade cuts through enemy lines.

But something feels different.

A new strength surges through him.

The power he feared to use… is now his only hope.

Then—

A familiar voice calls out.

Akin turns—

And sees him.

Eleriogun.

Standing amongst the enemy.

A cruel smile on his lips.

Akin's blood runs cold.

ELERIOGUN

"You should have joined me."

Then—

He raises his hand.

Dark energy erupts.

The battlefield shakes.

And Ajilomi's warriors begin to fall.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – EVENING

The battle is at its peak.

Ajilomi's walls crack under the siege.

The warriors are pushed back.

And then—

Ogunlaja himself steps forward.

His axe gleams in the fading sunlight.

He faces Eleriogun.

Two titans.

Two legends.

Only one will survive.

Akin watches.

His heart pounds.

Everything—

Everyone—

Depends on this moment.

Eleriogun laughs.

ELERIOGUN

"You are old, Ogunlaja."

The Oba narrows his eyes.

OBA OGUNLAJA

"And you are a fool."

Then—

They charge at each other.

The final duel begins.

EXT. BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

The sky is blood-red.

The screams of warriors fill the air.

Ajilomi's walls are barely standing.

The battle has raged for hours.

But now—

Only two warriors matter.

Ogunlaja.

Eleriogun.

Their eyes lock.

Their bodies tense.

Then—

They strike.

EXT. AJILOMI VILLAGE – MOMENTS LATER

Akin watches in horror.

His father—

His king—

Is struggling.

Ogunlaja's breath is ragged.

Blood drips from his armor.

Eleriogun smirks.

ELERIOGUN

"This is the best Ajilomi has?"

Ogunlaja grits his teeth.

He refuses to fall.

He raises his axe.

But—

Eleriogun is faster.

A dark blade pierces Ogunlaja's chest.

Akin screams.

OBA OGUNLAJA

(grunting)

"Akin… remember who you are…"

Then—

The King of Ajilomi falls.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – MOMENTS LATER

The warriors of Ajilomi freeze.

Their king is dead.

The enemy laughs.

Hope begins to fade.

Then—

Akin steps forward.

His body shakes with rage.

The power inside him stirs.

His fists tighten.

His eyes glow.

Eleriogun turns to him.

ELERIOGUN

(smiling)

"And what will you do, boy?"

Akin raises his sword.

The whispers return.

The power surges.

And for the first time—

He stops resisting it.

Lightning erupts around him.

His true strength awakens.

Eleriogun's smile fades.

For the first time—

He looks afraid.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

Akin stands alone.

His body crackles with power.

The wind howls around him.

The warriors of Ajilomi stare in awe.

The enemy hesitates.

Eleriogun's face twists in confusion.

ELERIOGUN

"What… are you?"

Akin says nothing.

He only moves.

FAST.

Before anyone blinks—

Akin is behind Eleriogun.

A thunderous punch lands.

Eleriogun flies back, crashing into his own warriors.

The battlefield falls silent.

Then—

Akin raises his sword.

Lightning strikes it.

The whispers grow louder.

And for the first time—

Akin understands them.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – MOMENTS LATER

The enemy regroups.

Their fear turns to anger.

Hundreds charge at Akin.

Akin does not run.

He lunges forward.

And in that moment—

Ajilomi's warriors see something impossible.

Akin is everywhere.

He moves faster than sight.

Blades shatter against his skin.

Arrows burn before reaching him.

He is no longer just a warrior.

He is a force.

And as his enemies fall one by one—

The warriors of Ajilomi find their courage again.

They rise.

They charge.

And the battle truly begins.

EXT. AJILOMI PALACE – NIGHT

Inside the palace, the council watches.

Fear in their eyes.

Their king is dead.

Their future uncertain.

Then—

A guard bursts in.

PALACE GUARD

"Akin… Akin is winning!"

The elders stiffen.

They look at each other.

The whispers begin.

Could he be the one?

EXT. BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

Eleriogun rises from the dust.

His eyes blazing with fury.

ELERIOGUN

(growling)

"You think you have won?"

He slams his fist into the ground.

The earth splits.

Dark energy erupts.

Akin feels it immediately.

This is not over.

This is just the beginning.
