Ryu looked at the new chakra suppression seal and said, "The suppression effectiveness is reduced by 55%. It cannot be used for taking prisoners, but for my use case it will be enough. I can increase the suppression, but it will increase the complexity and make the seal bigger. I need it to be small so it can be placed on a body easily."
Ryu said to himself, "Okay, before my bratty students barge in, I need to prepare a fire suppression seal for Saya and chakra testing paper for all of them."
Just then an idea hit him, and he smiled like when someone finds unexpected money in their clothes.
Ryu thought, "Hey, I have data on all elemental suppression seals. It acts by blocking specific elements, and each separate suppression seal can only block that particular affinity, and suppression is greater if affinity is strong. If I can measure the suppression, then I can use that as a metric to test for the chakra affinity using a fuinjutsu seal instead of chakra paper."
Ryu's excitement grew as he realised the potential of his idea to revolutionise chakra testing.
Ryu made a wide grin and said to himself, "I can do better and give each affinity a number out of 100 like a report card. This will revolutionise the chakra testing, and ninjas will be able to understand their strengths better."
Ryu then looked at the floating blank screen in front of him and said, "Good thing I did not deactivate the [Overclocking]."
Ryu grabbed his chin and thought, "But this will make the chakra paper go out of business."
Ryu then thought about it and said, "Hmmm, maybe not. They will focus more on fuinjutsu paper, which is also a low-quality chakra paper."
Ryu smiled and said, 'Okay, let's create the Chakra Affinity Testing Seal.'

Ryu then started writing both the seals at once. He made several encrypted copies of both of them. After he was done in an hour, he went to his grandfather, running.
"Grandpa, look," Ryu said as he showed him the two seals.
Dan asked, "New seals? What does this do? I assume it is based on the chakra suppression seal I showed you earlier. I know you have memorised them all."
Ryu smiled and said, "Yes, I did."
"This one is [RAT Seal], short for [Resistance Affinity Training Seal]."
"So you made it," Dan said, looking at the seal.
Dan then asked, "How much is suppression?"
Ryu replied, "Compared to the seal you showed me, it's only 45%, but it works on all affinities that are being trained, and it automatically starts from zero and gradually increases the suppression as your affinity gets stronger."
Dan said, "45% is not a lot for a highly trained shinobi. It cannot be used as a restraint. But if it works on all affinities, then it's all good."
Ryu replied, "Anything more than 45%, and also the seal will become more complex and big for practical purposes. I need to put the seal on a small tag instead of a scroll."
Dan said, "Yeah, I get it. Congratulations. But why am I not surprised like before? I guess I saw too many new seals made by you that it does not surprise me anymore."
Ryu replied, "I promise the next one will surprise you."
Dan asked, "Okay, what does this one do?"
Ryu replied, "It tells you your CAT score."
Dan, confused, asked, "CAT score?"
Ryu said, "Yes, Chakra Affinity Test score. It tests all your affinities and grades each of them from a score of 100. One will automatically know their primary and secondary affinity and will have comparative numbers of difference in strength through numbers. And this seal can be used 10 times by my estimate before losing accuracy."
Dan recognised the value of both seals for training, appreciating their potential to enhance skill development and proficiency in chakra manipulation. He thought, 'Even though the resistance seal will increase time in the training, it will produce much stronger ninjas with much better control at elemental ninjutsu.'
Ryu suggested, "Let's test my CAT score of my affinity."
Dan said, "That is a good idea. We already have the ranking. We can verify the results this way."
Ryu's rankings were as they found earlier, though the old school method was lightning, wind, fire, earth, and lastly water.
Ryu took the sealing tag and put his chakra in it.
The numbers on the seal changed and responded to his affinities. The CAT score of Ryu was as follows:
Lightning: 98
Wind: 97
Fire: 95
Earth: 90
Water: 90
Dan was totally surprised by his strange score. He did not know what to say. But he did not completely doubt his grandson's seal and thought, 'Maybe it is a minor bug in the syntax of the seal, but then again. Is it? The order of affinity is as it should be.'
Dan said, 'Give me the seal; I want to test my Chakra Affinity Test (CAT) score.'
Ryu followed the instructions and handed over the seal to Dan.
When Dan put the seal to the test on himself, he received the following CAT score:
Wind: 90
Earth: 85
Fire: 45
Water: 40
Lightning: 40
Dan thought, 'My score was as I had expected. That means the seal is accurate. Then it means Ryu has almost equal potential for all the elements. I thought his last secondary affinity was just not comparable to his primary affinity. Such a small difference in all primary and secondary affinities is so rare.'
Ryu was also thinking the same.
Ryu broke the silence and said, "We can assume the results are accurate, right?"
Dan replied, "Yes."
Dan then asked, "You plan to sell this seal?"
Ryu smiled, "Of course. This is harmless; we can sell them to our previous buyers. The other grandmasters will readily buy this seal. We do not need to waste our time selling this one ourselves."
Dan replied, "I think Hiruzen will be the first one to buy. Do you realise you can know the potential of this seal? We had other methods but were not as straightforward as this. We could test for secondary affinity but did not have any metrics to compare among them. But with this now, we do. With this, children could be selected who have the potential to be equally excellent at multiple chakra natures or rare ones in the village and pair them according to their affinity from a young age to promote greater teamwork from the start."
Ryu said, "Yes. We can change the academy structure based on the CAT score of academy students."
Dan said, "Yes, among all the villages, the Leaf village mostly has fire, earth, and water affinity in that order. Well, mostly fire. This seal will help the academy train the student better from the start for combination jutsus, and it's somewhat reusable."
Ryu nodded, acknowledging the potential impact of the new seal.
Dan said, "Okay, I will hand over the Chakra Affinity Testing Seal to Hiruzen for selling and let him do the talking like earlier."
Ryu then said, "Can we keep the [R.A.T. seal] to ourselves for now?"
Dan replied, "It's fine; I will go with the Chakra Affinity Testing Seal (C.A.T. seal) and meet Hiruzen tomorrow. For now, let me study the seal. Have you prepared the training scroll?"
Ryu said, "Yes, I prepared it as soon as I created the seals."
Dan read the scroll and said, "Again, such details and simplified explanations. You have made my job very easy."
Ryu said, "Before you go, can we test Jiyuu and Yasashii for their CAT score?"
Dan said, "That is a good idea. We will have to do it later anyway. They are in the library."
"Let's go then," Ryu said.
