They really did a number on the place. It was not especially amazing oooking before but they managed to make it look even more shabbier than the other shabby houses it was surrounded with. What's more, it did not even have a front door anymore.
Mei's face when she returned was comical but at least that meant she had no part in any of these. Though I could not be completely sure.
"What happened?" She asked as she looked around the room, dropping the basket at the entrance and her mouth was wide open.
I raised a brow, not completely sure that I could mark her out of the equation. "What does it look like?"
We stared at each other for a long while. I was suspecting her but I could not help but feel bad that I was. After all, Mei had been the one helping me since I got to this island, she has been there for me, always had my back, even in difficult situations so suspecting her like this seemed a bit too much.
