Earth – Tenguu City
April 10th. The start of a new semester.
At Raizen High School, the entrance ceremony was in full swing. The principal stood at the podium, droning on about the school's future and upcoming events.
But above the school, something far more significant was taking place.
A light blue magic circle flickered into existence atop the rooftop of the high school.
From within its glow, a figure stepped out.
It was Ryuu, the Demon King, arriving in this world in search of new followers.
The morning sun had yet to reach its peak, but Ryuu instinctively raised a hand to shield his eyes, scanning his surroundings.
"Huh? A school? Of all places… And there's no one around to ask."
Having experienced an anti-summoning before, Ryuu was still dressed in his outfit from the Fate World—a long black coat with golden embroidery.
His footsteps echoed in the empty hallway as he walked, taking in the unfamiliar setting.
A high school… huh.
It had been a long time since he had seen one. Ever since he had been summoned by that damned goddess, he had never once experienced the so-called "fun" of student life.
But now wasn't the time for nostalgia. First, he needed information about this world—he wouldn't make the same mistake as last time.
Just as he was lost in thought, a teacher suddenly appeared at the end of the corridor and called out to him.
"Hey, what class are you in? And where's your uniform?"
Ryuu turned, smiling faintly.
"Sensei, could you do me a favor and look me in the eyes for a moment?"
"Huh? What are you talking about? I'm asking you—"
Before he could finish, Ryuu's Geass activated.
The teacher's pupils dilated, his will completely dominated by Ryuu's command.
"Now… answer my question. Where am I?"
"…Tenguu City. Raizen High School."
Tenguu City.
That name sounded familiar.
Ryuu narrowed his eyes. "Has anything… supernatural happened here recently?"
The teacher remained silent. Clearly, he didn't know.
Ryuu frowned. Did I get sent to a normal world?
Tch. He didn't want to waste another 1,000 Demon King Points just to travel again.
Just as he was about to move on, a sudden alarm blared throughout the school.
[EMERGENCY ALERT]
A spacequake precursor has been detected in this area.
This is not a drill.
All citizens, please proceed to the nearest shelter immediately.
###
A spacequake?
The moment he heard that term, everything clicked.
"...I see. So that's where I am."
The teacher snapped out of Geass's control, and after hearing the alert, he turned pale.
"Why are you just standing there?! The spacequake's coming! Get to the shelter—now!"
Ryuu chuckled at the teacher's genuine concern for him—even as a complete stranger.
"Sensei, you should be worrying about yourself."
The teacher gave him a confused look, but when he turned back around—
Ryuu was gone.
---
All across Tenguu City, the sirens continued to wail.
Students were escorted in an orderly fashion into underground shelters. Even pedestrians were being directed by military personnel to the nearest safe zones.
Within minutes, the once-bustling streets became completely deserted.
Everyone here was used to spacequakes—years of experience had taught them how to react quickly.
But…
Not everyone had evacuated.
---
On the empty streets, a girl with long blue hair, wearing a Raizen High uniform, was running frantically.
Her breath was ragged, her legs burned with exhaustion—but she didn't stop.
She couldn't stop.
"Damn it…! That idiot…!" she muttered between gasps.
Even as the energy in the air condensed into a massive black sphere—the precursor to a spacequake—she kept pushing forward.
She clenched her phone tightly, glancing at the location on the screen.
The signal hadn't moved.
Inside a family restaurant—right at the center of the soon-to-be disaster zone.
Her sister was still there.
---
A single crack formed along the surface of the black sphere in the sky.
Then another.
And another.
Then—
BOOM!
A devastating shockwave erupted outward.
Buildings crumbled. The ground shattered. The force of the explosion flung the girl into the air before she crashed painfully onto the pavement.
She groaned, struggling to her feet, her vision swimming from the impact.
She could barely register the destruction around her—the collapsed buildings, the flames, the dust clouds—
But none of that mattered.
She staggered forward, toward the restaurant. Toward her sister.
And then—
A shadow loomed over her.
She barely had time to react before a hand grabbed her wrist.
"Whoa there, little lady. Where do you think you're going?"
She spun around in panic—only to find herself face-to-face with a stranger.
A young man, tall and imposing, dressed in a black coat embroidered with gold. His eyes stared down at her, gleaming with an unnatural glow.
She instinctively tried to yank her arm away.
"L-Let me go! My sister's—!"
"Calm down," Ryuu said casually. "This isn't a place for a normal girl like you to be running into."
She froze at his words.
Her instincts screamed at her—this man was dangerous.
And yet…
He didn't feel hostile.
"...Who even are you?" she asked warily.
Ryuu smirked. "A traveler passing through."
Her eyes narrowed. "You're not from around here, are you?"
"Nope."
"Then get to a shelter! This is a spacequake, don't you understand how—"
"I understand," Ryuu interrupted. "But I'm not the one who needs to run."
His eyes flickered toward the sky.
She followed his gaze—
And her blood ran cold.
A black rift had torn open in midair.
A silhouette floated within.
A girl—clad in ornate purple armor, wielding a massive sword, her long violet hair billowing in the wind.
A Spirit.
---
The newly emerged Spirit scanned her surroundings.
Her golden eyes, sharp and piercing, landed directly on them.
The girl in Ryuu's grasp shuddered.
"…T-That's…"
"Oh? That's the Spirit causing all this?" Ryuu muttered.
He watched the figure closely, his curiosity piqued.
"She's got some power… Maybe she'd make a decent recruit."
His Mangekyō Sharingan spun to life, analyzing the energy radiating from the Spirit.
Meanwhile—
A squad of heavily armed soldiers had arrived.
The Anti-Spirit Team (AST).
Their mission?
Eliminate the Spirit.
Ryuu's grin widened.
This was getting interesting.
