- Elara Voss:
I left Ronan alone in the bedroom as I stepped into the hallway, my heart still pounding.
The cabin was small which is why it did not take me long to spot Lucien. He was sitting in a wooden chair by the unlit fireplace, back straight, hands resting loosely on the arms of the chair.
He had changed into a thinner coat, but he looked just as composed, just as distant as I saw him the first time. His blue eyes flicked toward me as soon as I entered the small yet warm and cozy living room.
I swallowed hard, suddenly unsure of what to say. I had a million questions, but standing in front of him, under his silent gaze, I found myself hesitating.
Ronan was not far behind. I heard him step into the room, his presence as sharp as ever, but for once, he stayed silent, standing behind me, probably ready to strike if Lucien attacked me… Which was stupid why would he attack after saving me? It makes no sense.
