# Calvin's POV (Continued)
I spent that night at a hotel downtown. Not one of mine. I needed anonymity, somewhere Mily wouldn't think to look. The room was small, generic, with a view of nothing but concrete and glass. It suited my mood perfectly.
Sleep didn't come. I lay awake watching shadows crawl across the ceiling, my mind cycling through everything I'd lost. Lily was gone. My marriage was in shambles. Everything I'd built my life around had crumbled in a matter of days.
Morning light found me sitting on the edge of the bed, coffee gone cold in my hands. My phone buzzed. Mily. Again. I'd stopped counting her calls somewhere around midnight.
I switched it off and tossed it aside.
The shower did nothing to wash away the hollowness in my chest. I dressed mechanically, not caring what I put on. The suit felt like armor I no longer needed to wear.
