Chapter 81 - Volume 2 Chapter 24: Godzilla-Earth (Part 1)

The last cities in Australia were built around Bosse.

Over twenty cities were interconnected, merging into one in the dark night.

A starless night, a starless sky. Just like the night when the drifting rain and winds of over 17 on the Beaufort scale had come to Australia previously, it was happening again.

This time, the stormy night was a thousand times more ferocious than the previous one.

It had long surpassed the scale of a storm reaching a typhoon or hurricane as it churned up earth-shattering waves of air in the southwest of Australia.

Accompanying these gusts of air was a torrential rain that painted the world white!

It was like a deluge, like the sky collapsing, like doomsday. Amidst the gales, the unbelievable amount of raindrops battered the forest.

Pitter-patter, pitter-patter...

It couldn't even be called "rain" anymore. The gale and torrential rain were blowing the leaves off the trees. The excessive raindrops were bending and snapping tree branches, casting them down onto the ground to be carried away by the flood.

Boom... Rush...

Landslides and flash floods were ravaging the forest, while the previously calm streams had become extremely turbulent, and rivers were roaring, overflowing their banks and rushing everywhere.

Accompanying the heavy rainfall, the gale was stirring up the river waters, blowing away gigantic trees. It uprooted these massive trees, lifting them from the ground and into the sky.

This scene was no longer a mundane earthly occurrence; instead, it resembled the wrath of a deity. It was as though a god was venting boundless fury and hurling down divine judgment upon a disobedient beast.

A thousand millimeters of rainfall and a Category 18 hurricane.

In the southwest of Australia, a phenomenon rarely seen in human history was occurring at this moment. Under the influence of some mysterious force, a massive typhoon was slowly forming, covering the entire southwest of Australia on satellite maps.

The other humans on this planet couldn't understand what was happening. They watched in astonishment as a storm more violent than any they had ever known raged on satellite images. They could only stare in disbelief.

The vast forests shivered in the face of this abnormal wind and rainfall.

Godzilla continued to advance through the ferocious winds and heavy rain, with both its sonar and line of sight disrupted by the unprecedented downpour.

But it kept moving forward because it still had access to human radar to search for human remnants.

Crackle, crackle...

A forest was broken by the strong winds, and the broken pieces were blown into Godzilla's path.

Following this were landslides beside Godzilla, with tens of thousands, or even over a hundred thousand tons of mud and rocks, propelled by the heavy rain and strong winds, hitting Godzilla's legs.

Crackle! Crackle! Crackle!!!

After the gale and landslides came lightning. In this storm of wind and rain, Godzilla, made of metal, became the perfect target for lightning strikes.

Dozens, hundreds of lightning bolts formed in the atmosphere and struck Godzilla. They emitted a light that outshone the downpour, creating a deafening thunderous roar.

Hundreds soon became nearly a thousand. Every moment, lightning from the heavens struck down upon Godzilla.

This made it appear as though a true dragon from East Asian legends was undergoing a tribulation, bathed in thunder and storms.

The abnormal gale continued, as did the extraordinary rainfall.

This was definitely not a purely natural phenomenon. In this moment, behind the storm, there was an invisible hand influencing it.

Was it you?

Godzilla seemed to understand who was responsible for creating this storm.

It didn't know if this was just an illusion caused by the storm being too fierce, or if it was genuinely happening.

But it had a feeling.

The feeling that nature was lamenting, grieving for the impending disappearance of humanity on this continent.

The force behind this storm was the consciousness of nature itself.

Indeed, this was something the consciousness of nature could accomplish.

In Godzilla's understanding, although nature couldn't control tectonic plate movements deep beneath the Earth's surface, it could influence things like typhoons at sea, earthquakes in the crust, weather, and thunderstorms.

In terms of total energy, the consciousness of nature was many times more powerful than the current Godzilla could even fathom. Considering the immense number of living beings on Earth, the energy they expended in their activities contributed to nature itself.

Just one person required about 10 million joules of energy per day. With a population of 7 billion people, nearly 1 billion billion joules per day were needed, equivalent to 300 million tons of TNT equivalent.

And this calculation only considered the total mass of humanity, which was around 6 million tons. The total mass of the biosphere was approximately 550 billion tons!

While direct mathematical operations couldn't provide the answer, the energy consumption of nature's consciousness was undoubtedly far greater than anything else.

It far exceeded the current Godzilla and other life forms. If its power wasn't so scattered, it could have wiped out all of humanity before its own decline.

Yes, the consciousness of nature should have declined.

But in the current Godzilla, it sensed something, a cry from a certain consciousness within the storm. It was something extremely close to nature.

"Roar—" (Who are you?)

In the midst of the raging storm, Godzilla let out a long roar towards the tempest.

It communicated with the presence behind this storm using the frequency it once used to connect with nature.

And that consciousness, that presence, responded after receiving the unique frequency of nature, a frequency that belonged solely to it.

From space, the super typhoon that had covered the entire southwest of Australia began to dissipate at the moment Godzilla responded. As it let out its response through the channel exclusive to nature, the abnormal weather started to fade away.

Godzilla could sense that, after it roared through the natural frequency channel, the willpower around it was becoming stronger and coalescing.

It had arrived.

A massive willpower beyond that of Godzilla's arrived in this world after the storm dissipated. It connected with Godzilla's thoughts, making Godzilla feel a sense of familiarity.

This was indeed the way nature's consciousness had once communicated with it.

So, it was...

The consciousness emanated love and connected with Godzilla in a way that felt familiar.

Then it spoke words that Godzilla had never expected.

"Stop, Godzilla."

"Don't continue, because if you keep going like this..."

"You will become Godzilla-Earth."

"So, please stop."
