Kai knew if he went up against Zeleti he would not only lose but further endanger Camilla as she'd be alone, and judging by the amount of VSF agents, this was clearly authorised on a high level. Which meant even if by some miracle he managed to stop Zeleti now, it would only occur again. He decided the best outcome would be to accompany Camilla and follow Zeleti's whim, for now.
'I'll come willingly, but why are you doing this.' Kai was confused, why all this killing for a human?
His response shocked Camilla, it may have been the smart one, but she was taken back. She thought he'd lose his rationality when it came to her, as he always did in the past. If it wasn't for the dire situation, the sense of shame would have hit her hard.
Zeleti sighed. 'Try to keep up.' He lifted Camilla over his shoulder once more and leapt towards the research facility. Kai mustered up as much speed as he could, but he was still falling behind. His runes continued to morph as his desire to go faster grew. His willpower alone pushed him further, he found himself slowly closing the distance. Closer, and closer till he was finally next to Camilla and Zeleti.
Vesper didn't realise it himself, but a small smirk crept up on his face. He was proud of himself for breaking his limits and being able to match the speed of someone like Zeleti.
He felt strong. His need to protect Camilla, his survival instinct made him feel strong.
Although that feeling was short lived, the thought that he would never have succeeded if he didn't preview the power through Zeleti's pheromones left a sour aftertaste.
'I don't need to explain myself to a little agent' Zeleti sighed once more, 'but perhaps I'm getting old.' His facial expression seemed oddly sombre. 'All I want is to die, I've lived long enough. My research... I'm so close... I've almost found a way to make me human.'

Eamon's eyes began to open slowly; his regenerative abilities weren't strong enough to heal his wounds. He didn't have profound healing abilities like Vesper or Cassius. He needed blood. There were plenty spools of blood scattered around him; the problem was trying to reach them. Both his legs were incapacitated from and one whole arm was no longer existent. If he didn't get any blood soon, he could very well die.
Eamon may have lived for over 250 years, but he was nowhere near ready to die. He spent most of his adult years chasing his desires, yet he was never satisfied. He was the heir to the Dusk family, the future but that didn't interest him. Eamon looked for adrenaline, the rush of life. He didn't want to die before he had found something fun to live for.
He wanted to survive another day.
Eamon stared at the closest pool of blood; it was only a few crawls away from him. He could use his one arm to pull himself within reach of a lick. He could withstand the pain, that wasn't the problem.
The problem was that particular blood pool belonged to Zeleti.
The next closest blood was too far for Eamon to reach in his current condtion. He wasn't in a position to be picky, but another vampire's blood, especially one from the ThreeGreatFamilies. If he lived, the consequences would be life changing. Eamon may have been a new generation vampire, his ties to tradition weren't as strong as his fathers. However, certain lines shouldn't be crossed. If the blood belonged to a lower family, he could have easily absorbed it into the Dusk legacy. However, this was Crimson blood, another rival family, and Zeleti's included many generations of blood before him.
This was strong blood.
Eamon didn't have the luxury to dwell on future dilemmas, using one arm he inched closer to the blood. 'Father is gonna lose it when he finds out.' He sighed sliding closer to the blood strengthening his resolve. 'Argh, and it had to be a man's blood too, I've got no luck today.' He complained as his tongue scraped up as much blood as it could. He knew he only had one lick, Eamon wasn't sure what the recoil would be from drinking Crimson blood, he made sure to get as much as he could in one go to help with his healing.
As soon as the blood touched his throat he passed out before he could even scream in agony. The pain that followed wasn't one any creature could handle. Silence fell as Eamon lost consciousness under the quiet of the night.
Cassius and Estefan stood over an unconscious Eamon and what looked like a crime scene in front of Camilla's apartment. 'She isn't here. Wake him up.' Cassius' words were short and abrupt, but clearly not in his normal way, he was barely holding himself back.
Estefan used his healing aura to fasten Eamon's natural regenerative process. His hands lit up green as his aura spread coating the most serious of injuries first. Eamon's eyes slowly fluttered open. 'Seriously more guys.' Eamon grinned sarcastically, but seeing Cassius' face something in him stirred. 'It was those damn VSF agents... my best bet is they're going to the facility she visited... her friend Maya should have the address.' Eamon spoke through his staggered breath, he usually had no respect for any vampire whether they were an elder or not, stronger or weaker. However, the sight of Cassius angry, made him also feel- he wasn't sure what but the emotions were present.
*Beeep Beeep*
Cassius had taken out his phone and was already connecting the call before Eamon could even finish his thought.
'I need Maya's number.' Cassius didn't wait for Ashin to speak.
Ashin sensed the serious tone and dismissed his usual light-hearted responses. [She's here with me, you're on speaker.]
'I need the address for the VSF facility Camilla visited.' Cassius demanded in a manner that would have anyone on edge, it was calm but full of rage.
[VSF?] Ashin was surprised at hearing the organisation's name connected to Camilla's.
[Erm yeah sure, I'll send it to you now. What's going on?] Maya too began to worry.
Cassius ignored her question, though not out of rudeness, simply because his focus was set. 'Ashin, would you like to let loose?' Although Cassius may not have needed the back up, he knew it would be quicker and this was a race against time.
[Like I said before, the Sa'lu's are told to help any Crimson.] Ashin's voice grew deeper, his transformation was clear. [We'll meet you there.] Cassius could feel his grin through the phone.
Once Cassius cut the line and sent the location to Vesper and Estefan, he was about to leave. 'Estefan treat him then follow suit, I smell Crimson blood, this must be his scent, Zeleti.' Cassius' worry grew. The man who devoured his own family in pursuit of humanity, has come across a carrier.
That could very well be a dangerous combination.
'Yes Sire.' Estefan bowed his head as Cassius headed off to find Camilla.
Estefan however, turned to face Eamon, still healing him. His aura revealed much more than what Cassius said. There was indeed Crimson blood in the area, but not in the way he thought.
His voice was low, his tone wary. 'Eamon. What have you done?'
