Chapter 34 - Ch 34: Battlefield

As Eryx stepped through the fracture and entered the Morning Snow Pocket Dimension, the world around him changed instantly.

He found himself standing in a vast white land. Everywhere he looked, there was snow. The ground was covered in a thick layer, and more snowflakes gently fell from the sky, slowly piling up.

The air was cold—so cold that his breath turned to mist as soon as he exhaled. It felt like stepping into a freezer.

The sky above him was a pale blue, but there was no sun or moon. Yet, the whole place was lit up as if it was early morning. Natural light was still coming from somewhere. It gave the land an endless morning feel, which must be why it was called Morning Snow Pocket Dimension.

Eryx could see large jagged mountains surrounding the area at the distance.

Far in the distance on another side, Eryx could see some structures half-buried in snow.

Everything felt frozen in time here.

Despite the peaceful appearance, Eryx knew this place was dangerous. The calm was only on the surface. He could not let his guard down. It is better to stay alert all the time.

Eryx didn't know his current location or where to go, so he immediately tapped on the NeoVisor on his wrist.

A holographic screen appeared before his eyes.

Then he tapped a few more times, and a large map opened. This was the map of the entire Morning Snow Pocket Dimension.

On this huge map, Eryx could see colorful dots. The blue dot represented his location, and the red dot represented the place where he was supposed to go.

A single curved yellow line connected the blue dot and red dot. This showed the shortest path he should take to reach his destination.

Eryx started following the yellow line. The cold wind blowing over was strong, and snow was falling from the sky.

Eryx did not have the time or mind to pay attention to the snow that crazily flew over. He simply rushed into the world that was covered in snow without a care for anything else.

As Eryx continued to walk, the wind became stronger.

About half an hour later, Eryx could not help but shiver.

Now, the gale was like a blade. When it struck Eryx's body, he felt something cold and sharp striking his body. Fortunately, the Aegis Armor was there to protect him. Otherwise, he would not have been able to walk even ten steps in this kind of horrible environment.

At this moment, Eryx had no time to care about all this, he only wanted to continue to walk.

While walking, he was also trying to look for anything that could be exchanged for Energy Points.

Due to cold and haze, Eryx's gaze could only make out a distance of a hundred meters.

A distance of a hundred meters may seem very far, but it was just a short distance. Such a distance was very dangerous.

Suddenly, Eryx felt his instinct warning him.

He stopped on the track and no longer walked. He looked around but saw no danger. In the end, he thought of moving forward slowly.

However, before he could take a step ahead, something happened.

BrOoM~

Bam!

With a thundering sound, the snowy land a few meters ahead of him collapsed, and a huge pit appeared. Snow and icy fog covered the surroundings instantly.

"What the...f*ck!"

Eryx was dumbfounded. He suddenly remembered Ember Queen's warning. She clearly asked him to stay careful. She also listed a series of dangers he may encounter inside the Morning Snow Pocket Dimension. Land Collapsing was one of those dangers.

Fortunately, his survival instinct kicked in and he stopped. Otherwise, the consequences would have been terrible.

Taking a deep breath, Eryx walked forward and arrived near the place where the land had collapsed. He looked down, only to be horrified.

He found out that he was currently standing at the edge of a 'canyon', and below him was a bottomless abyss.

Yes, this place now looked more like a canyon instead of a deep pit.

What horrified him more was that not only could he not see the bottom of the canyon, but he could also feel extremely dense killing intent fiercely attacking his mind.

He hurriedly withdrew his head, and only then did the killing intent cease its attack.

"What is this place?"

Eryx immediately brought out the map and tried to look for any clue he could find. However, he was disappointed after not finding anything. Obviously, the person who created this map had never thought that a place like this canyon existed inside the Morning Snow Pocket Dimension.

Additionally, Eryx was sure that this canyon was not ordinary. There must be something of significant value down there. Otherwise, that terrifying killing intent would not have appeared.

Now that the path ahead was broken, Eryx didn't know what to do or how to reach the Ice Flame Valley.

He may need to look for another path.

Eryx sighed and looked around; however, he found that he could only choose to retreat. There was no longer a way ahead.

He hesitated for a moment, then looked down again.

Shua—

As soon as he glanced at the deep canyon below, the terrifying killing intent hit him once more. This time, it was even fiercer, like a crushing wave that sent his mind spinning. Eryx felt dizzy immediately. His vision blurred for a split second.

But that brief moment of disorientation nearly cost him everything.

His foot slipped, and before he could react, he fell down.

As Eryx fell into the canyon, the killing intent came in waves again, crashing against his mind like a relentless storm.

Each wave was stronger than the last, attacking him over and over. The pressure was too much. Eryx tried to fight back, but the attack was too intense. His mind grew weaker with every passing second, and soon, he couldn't hold on any longer.

His vision went dark, and he lost consciousness.

Who knows how much time has passed?

When Eryx finally woke up, he found himself lying on cold, muddy ground. The sharp icy wind was gone. It was replaced by a damp chill in the air.

"Arghh~"

Eryx tried to move but his body ached all of a sudden, and his head throbbed.

Eryx closed his eyes and tried to endure the discomfort. Then, he slowly opened his eyes but found the surroundings unfamiliar.

In his daze, he looked around, only to find the snow was gone.

Suddenly, he remembered how he fell into the canyon and was attacked by the killing intent.

He didn't know how long he had been unconscious, but it seemed he had survived the fall, and now, he was in a completely different part of the Morning Snow Pocket Dimension.

Moreover, he might be the first one to discover this part of the Morning Snow Pocket Dimension.

Eryx stood up. As he looked around, he was immediately stunned by what he saw!

Just what kind of place was this, and what had happened here?

Dozens of miles away, the sky and earth were dark and devoid of light. The ground was a wasteland without any signs of life, not even a single blade of grass!

There were thousands of ravines on the ground. There were collapsed mountains as well, and the air was filled with an air of slaughter. At the same time, there was also an extremely powerful aura of death!

It was as if this was a dead end!

Battlefield!

Eryx's body shook violently. Looking at this place, only one word comes to his mind.

This place looked too much like a Battlefield. There were traces of battle everywhere, but it seemed the 'age' was too far. It was almost impossible to define for how long this battlefield had existed.

Eryx could still feel that the killing intent was all around him. Fortunately, the killing intent was weak.

He finally had the chance to look at his own body. He was again dumbfounded when he saw deep scratches and wound-like patterns on the Aegis Core Armor.

It has to be known the Aegis Core was a very advanced armor. Nothing ordinary, even powerful, could leave a scratch on its surface. But now, the situation was different.

"It seems that killing intent was terrifying!"

Yes, terrifying!

Powerful is not the word to be used on something that can leave behind wound-like patterns on the Aegis Core Armor.

It was also at this moment that Eryx understood that the killing intent that attacked him previously was not only mental but physical as well.

Perhaps, due to his strong soul, his mind did not collapse. As for his body, it was protected by the Aegis Core Armor.

If not for this armor, his body would have been torn into thousands of pieces by previous waves of killing intent.

Phuu!

Eryx heaved a sigh of relief and thanked Ember Queen inwardly.
