(Mate:A mystical bond between two souls, forged by fate and unbreakable by mortal means.)
Felix's POV
I breathed in, and the air was stale and empty. No scent of flowers, no hint of fresh air. Just nothing. The smell of a room that had been locked away for too long.
It was a smell I knew well.
A smell that felt like home.
I stood in my dimly lit room, surrounded by shadows that twisted and writhed like a living thing in the faint glow light .
The air was heavy with tension .
"She said no." I repeated the words to myself, the sound echoing off the cold, dark walls.
My fist clenched , the muscles in my arm tensing with rage .I raised it , feeling the weight of my anger, and slammed it into the wall besides me with a satisfying crunch .
"Who does she think she is?" I growled, my voice barely above a whisper. I'd saved her life, not once, not twice, but three times. And yet, she had the audacity to say no to me.
My inner demon stirred, its presence a cold, dark whisper in the recesses of my mind. "She ran away from you," it taunted. "She doesn't want you."
I laughed, the sound harsh and mocking. But beneath the laughter, a spark of anger burned. She had no idea what she was dealing with.
No idea what I was capable of.
I paced back and forth , my footsteps echoing off the walls as I became increasingly consumed by the thought of her soul.
The mate bond between us was a curse, preventing me from claiming what was rightfully mine.
My inner demon stirred, its presence a cold, dark whisper in my mind. "It's not her soul, it's her dummy," it taunted.
I spun around, my eyes flashing with anger. "Shut up," I growled. "You know it's her soul. Stop playing dumb."
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. But the thought of her soul was like a siren's call, drawing me in with its beauty and rarity.
I'd collected thousands of souls over the years, but only two had been truly unique. And hers, hers was something else entirely.
I felt a spark of excitement ignite within me , a plan forming in my mind. "Let's call our little prey Treasure," I said, my voice low and menacing. "Because she's our treasure, and she's going to regret not signing those papers."
I laughed, my laughter echoing through the room , a cold mirthless sound . She thought she had a choice, but she was already mine.
A shiver of anticipation ran down my spine , leaving me feeling electrified and alive .
The papers she'd signed when the werewolf boy had threatened her life had sealed her fate.
And now, she wanted to play a game?
I'd show her a game.
One she'd never forget.
I stood in the darkness , my eyes fixed on some point in front of me , my gaze burning with an inner fire as I contemplated the fate that awaited Treasure.
The air was cold and stale . "Starting tomorrow, little Treasure," I whispered to myself, "your life will be hell. My hell."
A low menacing chuckle rumbled in my chest , a sound that seemed to rumble through my chest . My inner demon stirred, its presence a cold, dark whisper in my mind. "It really wasn't love at first sight," it said.
I shook my head, dismissing the thought. I didn't care about love at first sight. I didn't care about love at all. What I cared about was power. And Treasure was going to give it to me.
I smiled, my eyes glinting with anticipation. Tomorrow Treasure would learn the true meaning of hell.
And as I waited , the darkness seemed to grow thicker , heavier and more alive
