Chapter 96 - Chapter 96 : Goodbye

!!...

The entire underground chamber trembled suddenly.

Dust fell from the ceiling as the vibrations spread, carrying an immense and powerful energy that radiated in all directions.

Crack!

The entire space began to distort and fracture. Then, another mysterious force emerged, sweeping through the room. The prisoners inside the cages felt its presence immediately—a raw, unexplainable power enveloping their entire bodies.

In a dark, damp cage, the first to change was Dr. Curt Connors, also known as the Lizard.

His body began to turn transparent, from his feet to his head, as the mysterious force infused him. Within seconds, he vanished completely.

"Finally, we can go home."

Watching the Lizard disappear, Eddie Brock took a deep breath. He had no desire to remain locked in this cage forever.

"Hell yeah! We're going back!" Venom's voice echoed in his mind, filled with joy. "No more freaky wizards, no more insane experiments—just me and my chocolate!"

"Well, you might not want me here, but I'll be back eventually!"

Deadpool, noticing the change in his body, grinned as he became increasingly transparent. "Next time, roll out the red carpet for me, okay?" he shouted before vanishing.

"Finally, some peace and quiet."

Finn scanned the cages, watching as each of them disappeared one by one. He knew the spell had taken effect. Even though their presence had been chaotic and entertaining, they did not belong to this universe. Eventually, they all had to leave.

"Goodbye, friend."

Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man hugged the younger Peter Parker tightly, looking at him seriously. "Remember, kid, with great power comes great responsibility."

It was a phrase that had defined him—a lesson he had learned the hard way. And now, it was a lesson Peter had to carry forward.

"With great power comes great responsibility..."

Peter repeated the words under his breath, his eyes hardening with resolve.

"Finn, thank you for everything," Garfield's Spider-Man said. Then, turning to Gwen Stacy—the Gwen of this universe—he hesitated before speaking, his voice tinged with both regret and relief. "I hope we meet again someday."

Gwen smiled softly. "I hope so, too."

"Take care, Finn!"

A golden light flared up, swallowing the remaining prisoners.

And then, in an instant, the underground chamber was silent again.

"No complications—they're gone."

The darkened version of Wanda Maximoff—Scarlet Witch—sighed as she lowered her hands, allowing the residual energy of her spell to fade. The process had been challenging, but at least the outcome was what they wanted.

Reality had been restored. The visitors from the multiverse were sent back to where they belonged.

"It's finally over."

Doctor Strange and Wong exhaled deeply, relieved that the chaos had been contained. If it had gone on any longer, things could have escalated far beyond their control.

"Wait a minute."

Strange frowned as he glanced at America Chavez. "Why is she still here?"

America looked confused for a moment before shrugging. "Uh... because I traveled here using my own powers? Duh."

Finn rolled his eyes. "Seriously? How bad is your memory? She didn't get caught in the spell because she came here herself."

Strange's expression shifted as realization hit him. "Right. That explains it." He sighed, rubbing his temples. "This entire mess started because of that mysterious figure."

Wanda's expression darkened at the mention. "What exactly did that person alter when they used the memory spell?" she asked sharply.

She tried to remember—but there was nothing. A blank space where memories should have been.

"I don't know," Strange admitted. "Whoever they are, they tampered with reality itself. No one remembers."

"It doesn't matter," Finn said, his voice tight. "We solved the multiverse issue—that's what counts. Obsessing over the mysterious figure isn't going to help right now."

"I disagree," Wanda countered, her eyes narrowed in focus. "If we can figure out who they are, we can understand their true intentions. We might be in danger without realizing it."

She had a point. The unknown was always a threat. Whoever had manipulated reality clearly had an agenda—and they were playing a game that Wanda, Strange, and Finn weren't even aware of.

The realization left the Scarlet Witch in deep thought.

Finn, however, was visibly uncomfortable. "Ahem. Hey, uh, it's only a little past seven. Why don't we go out and enjoy the city for a bit?"

He quickly changed the subject. The last thing he wanted was for Wanda and Strange to investigate further, especially since the so-called "mysterious person" was... well, him.

And besides, he had been in New York for a while now but hadn't had a proper chance to explore.

"Wanna come?" He looked at the others, hoping to redirect the conversation.

"Nah, we're good."

Strange, Wong, and America exchanged glances before collectively shaking their heads.

"We've got other things to handle," Wong added.

"I have to get home before Aunt May freaks out!" Peter yelped suddenly, checking the time. He gathered his things in a rush. "If I'm late, she'll ground me for a year!"

And with that, he bolted up the stairs.

"We need to file a report on all of this," Strange muttered, exchanging a knowing look with Wong. "Come on."

"Wait, you guys have to write reports?" Finn looked at them incredulously. "Kamar-Taj really does paperwork?"

"You'd be surprised," Wong muttered, shaking his head as he walked away.

As Strange passed Finn, he smirked and clapped him on the shoulder. "Enjoy your night out. Just the three of you, huh?" His smirk widened. "Good luck."

Finn's stomach dropped. "Wait—what?"

Before he could protest, Strange disappeared up the stairs, leaving him alone with two versions of Wanda Maximoff.

Finn suddenly felt a cold sweat form on his back.

"Finn," Wanda said sweetly, stepping closer with an amused glint in her eyes. "I haven't had the chance to explore New York yet. Let's go together."

She smiled, her charming expression accentuated by the way her sharp canine teeth caught the dim light.

Finn swallowed hard.

This was going to be a long night.

This time, no matter what, you have to be by his side.

"And me."

Dark Wanda's beautiful eyes flickered as she walked forward, her movements fluid like a serpent.

She wanted in on this too.

"You're not allowed to go. This date belongs to me and Finn alone!"

Wanda's voice was sharp with irritation, her normally innocent face darkening with anger.

She knew exactly what Dark Wanda was trying to do.

She couldn't let her win this time. Who knew how far she'd go if she succeeded now?

"And why not?"

Dark Wanda smirked, stepping in even closer, grabbing Finn's arm with a sultry grip. "For the multiverse, I helped, after all."

As she spoke, she leaned in further, pressing her body to him. Her head rested against his shoulder, her touch lingering.

At this moment, she was like a siren clinging to her prey, her behavior incredibly intimate.

Finn inhaled sharply, feeling the softness against him.

The scent of her was intoxicating.

But before he could even react, he felt it again—on his other side. A different warmth, equal in intensity.

"Finn is mine, get off!"

Wanda pressed against him, yanking him in the opposite direction.

"Not a chance!"

Dark Wanda refused to back down, pulling just as hard.

Finn was caught between them like a ragdoll, being tugged back and forth by two immensely powerful witches.

The sheer force of their magic-infused struggle made his head spin.

And before he knew it, he was being dragged out of the Sanctum Sanctorum by the two women, one pulling him left, the other pulling him right.

New York City, downtown.

The streets were alive with movement—pedestrians walking by, horns blaring, neon lights illuminating every corner. Music echoed from street performers, and dancers spun to the rhythm of the city.

Three figures stood out among the bustling crowd.

Pedestrians turned their heads, eyes widening with curiosity and admiration.

That guy… how did he manage to get two stunning women to cling to him like that?

Finn could hear the whispers, the envious stares burning into him.

Some men snickered knowingly, while others muttered in irritation.

"Can you two let go?" Finn groaned, exasperated. "People are staring."

From the Sanctum to here, they hadn't released him for a second.

His arms were numb. If not for his own stubborn willpower, he probably would have collapsed by now.

"I'll let go when she does!" Wanda snapped, tightening her grip, her eyes locked in a glare with her darker counterpart.

"Then I guess I'm never letting go."

Dark Wanda smirked, her voice teasing as she mimicked Wanda's words with a playful lilt.

The mockery was clear.

"You… stop copying me!" Wanda's face flushed red with anger.

Not only was she holding onto Finn, but now she was making fun of her? This woman was unbearable!

"I can't deal with you two!" Finn groaned, dragging them into a quieter alleyway.

If they kept this up in public, he feared they'd draw way more attention than necessary.

"What now? Taking us somewhere more intimate?" Dark Wanda teased, raising a suggestive eyebrow.

Finn sighed, already regretting his decision.

"You're shameless!" Wanda scolded, her cheeks burning.

How could someone who looked exactly like her be so… so bold?!

She couldn't believe it. Was this really an alternate version of herself?

"You're really something else," Finn muttered, shooting Dark Wanda an amused look.

"I learned from the best," she purred. "Well, the internet mostly. Haven't had the chance to do it yet."

Finn blinked in surprise. "You… haven't done that?"

He honestly hadn't expected that.

Dark Wanda tilted her head, reading the expression on his face. "What? Did you think the me from my universe was already taken? Guess he was a gentleman after all."

"Why, don't want me now?"

Dark Wanda stopped walking, her lips curving into a seductive smile as she leaned in closer.

That intoxicating scent of hers was stronger now.

Finn opened his mouth to respond, but Wanda suddenly interjected.

"Don't even think about it! Finn is mine!"

She shoved Dark Wanda back, pressing her against the wall, pinning her there.

Their identical faces were just inches apart, breaths mingling.

It was the first time Wanda had ever been this aggressive, and she was clearly flustered by it.

"Oh? Are you joining in too? I don't mind."

Dark Wanda's lips curled into a smirk, her eyes dark and unreadable.

She looked directly into Wanda's furious gaze, then slowly licked her lips.

That slow, deliberate motion sent shivers down Wanda's spine.

"Y-You…!"

Wanda felt herself burning up, completely thrown off by her own counterpart's boldness.

This woman had no shame!

She had to be from a much darker timeline.

Before she could react, Dark Wanda took advantage of her distraction, flipping their positions effortlessly.

Now Wanda was the one pressed against the wall, trapped.

"Is that what you meant by being shy?" Dark Wanda taunted, smirking as she held her in place.

Her face was so close now, her breath hot against Wanda's cheek.

Wanda's ears burned red.

She was mortified. "L-Let me go!"

This was humiliating!

They were outside, in public! If anyone saw them like this…

Dark Wanda leaned in even closer, her voice low and teasing. "What if I don't?"

Scarlet energy flickered in her eyes, laced with mischief.

"D-Don't mess around!"

Wanda struggled, but the heat in her cheeks betrayed her.

She wasn't used to this kind of teasing.

She was used to being in control. But now…

This was different.

"Oh?"

Dark Wanda's fingers trailed along Wanda's cheek, eyes gleaming. "Are you sure you don't want this?"

She tightened her hold slightly, watching Wanda's reaction.

Her skin was unbelievably soft.

"I do, just… not with you!" Wanda stammered, turning her head away. "Finn is way better than you!"

The moment the words left her mouth, she regretted them.

Dark Wanda's smirk deepened. "Oh? Sounds like jealousy to me."

Wanda felt her face heat up even more.

She was trapped in an impossible situation, feeling hot and restless.

Finn, who had been watching in silence, finally cleared his throat.

"Ahem. Can you two maybe tone it down? We're still outside."

The two women turned toward him at the same time, then back at each other, their tension unbroken.

Before anyone could say anything else, a rough voice interrupted them.

"Damn, kid. You got lucky. Mind sharing one of them with us?"

Finn's expression darkened instantly.

Oh, hell no.
