Lidia tilted her head. "I have an aunt?"
Elisse paused, looked up and stared at her for a moment. "Never mind that now. Just… just trust me."
"I mean, it feels like a thing you could've mentioned a while ago."
"Do you want to argue about semantics," Elisse said, stuffing the pouch into Lidia's hands, "or do you want to stay un-poisoned and un-executed?"

Lidia looked down at the money. It wasn't a small amount. Enough for travel. For bribes. For questions she wasn't ready to ask. And she even had some extra thanks to our dearest knight friend.
