The girl smiled and snapped her fingers.
In that instant the scene shifted to a desert. Behind them was a mini shop. It had crates, swords hung up along with other various things, and a long table which sat in front of of a long red curtain.
"This is your spawn, when you die you return here to do everything over again."
"You know, for some Divine looking, beauty. You are very cruel."
He looked ahead and saw the same monster from before, the tentacle echolocation monster.
"That's what I have to beat?" His voice sounded more cocky than afraid.
"Have you for-"
Kian ran towards it cutting her off. "Everyone I'll be home soon!"
As soon as he reached up he launched up and tried to use a spell, but nothing happened and in that instant.
One of the tentacles went right through his head.
Then he opened his eyes.
"Huh?!" He patted his head all over the place just to make sure. Then he looked behind him and that same mini shop was there.
He stood up and looked at the girl who was shaking her head.
He stood up and ran towards it dodging one tentacle, but instead of keeping quiet he yelled as he got close and it pierced his head again.
He woke up again and felt his head once more before getting up and this time grabbing a sword and running towards it and cutting one tentacle clean off and rolling away when another tried to stab him and almost lost his balance.
He planted his foot on the ground and tried to dash towards it, but it smacked him away and charged at him with it's tentacles ready.
When we woke up again, the girl stopped him. "Are you insane?!"
"I need to get back!"
She facepalmed and sighed "This is the Mind Trail. It is meant to test you mentally not physically."
He gritted his teeth and grabbed another sword. "So I can't use magic?"
She shook her head "Only weapons."
He ran towards it again and this time dodged, but didn't dash towards it. Instead he tried to get the tentacles away.
He cut one then another, before one cut his side, but he also cut that one.
The monster roared in pain. Kian had stopped when it only had a few more tentacles and ran up towards it dodging and taking as much as he could and jumped up holding his sword in a reverse grip, but as he fell. 2 tentacles stabbed into him and the monster but his leg and tore it off making his scream in agony.
Then it moved the tentacles deeper and soon out of his body.
When he woke up again he grabbed a sword. He knew how to defeat it this time. All he had to do was take away the tentacles, which wasn't that hard.
He dashed towards it, but all of its tentacles were in close proximity with the monster itself.
He stared at it, and it just stood there, not like it could see him without eyes.
Then that's when it came upon him, he wasn't the only person being reset.
The girl remembered everything just like Kian. So, the monster more than likely did too.
He looked at the monster, it was like a snake, ready to strike at moment.
He started to take short breaths, he could die again.
He walked towards it slowly "Can I get another sword?"
The girl looked over "Uh, yeah here!" She threw one his way and Kian caught it.
He took a breath to prepare himself and dashed forward as he did, he threw one of the swords at the center of the monster which it knocked away.
He took that opportunity and sliced up as many tentacles as he could and on his way he rolled and grabbed the other sword and dug one into its side then the another into its neck.
He pulled the first one out and pushed it into its neck as well.
The monster roared and tried to pry him off, but he held on tight and actually the swords were only cutting deeper.
Then it plunged one tentacle into his back, so he pressed his feet against it's belly pushing away to cut it's head off.
He yelled as the cut got deeper and the monster's grip became weaker.
The monsters tentacle went up as a last resort, Kian saw this and tried even harder even clenching his teeth so hard they began to bleed.
The tentacle also went on its way down.
But which will happen first? The Monster's death or Kian's.
