The glass capsule opened, and all the restraints on Xia Yi's body disengaged at the same time. He moved his body a little, then stepped out of the glass chamber.
"Come with me. I'll take you to register." The major was already waiting outside. Seeing Xia Yi emerge, she led him out of the specially designed testing room.
Soon, the major brought him back to the place they had first arrived at.
The major handed Xia Yi a form. There wasn't much to fill out—just:
Name
Age
Martial Soul
Cultivation Level
Mecha (Battle Armor)
Secondary Profession
After filling it out, the major entered the data into the soul device computer for record-keeping.
"Level 62… Two-word Battle Armor!" The major looked up at Xia Yi in surprise, her face showing a strange expression.
"What is it?" Xia Yi asked curiously.
"It's nothing. I'm just curious—why didn't you fill in your Battle Armor's name? You just wrote 'Two-word Battle Armor'?" the major couldn't help asking.
"The name?" Xia Yi shook his head. "I haven't given it a name yet."
"What? No name? How could it not have a name?" The major was clearly stunned, and her expression turned even weirder.
"Just didn't feel like naming it," Xia Yi replied indifferently, completely nonchalant.
"Didn't feel like it?" The major suddenly stood up. Seeing Xia Yi's casual demeanor, she even got a bit flustered, her breathing growing slightly ragged. "How can you say that? Naming your Battle Armor is a sacred thing! Every Battle Armor Master is a symbol of power. Each piece of Battle Armor deserves its own name!"
"Aren't you from the Spirit Pagoda? How could you not know something this basic?"
Naming Battle Armor!
To all soul masters, this was an aspiration. Only after completing a full set of One-word Battle Armor would one even qualify to name it.
Even at the One-word level, the name could only be one character—but even that single character was a badge of honor, a symbol of strength and prestige.
At the top of the Spirit Pagoda, on the 101st floor, Sky Dragon Roar was a dedicated place for Battle Armor Masters to name their armors.
It was meant to encourage every Battle Armor Master to let their voices be heard in the world of soul masters like a true dragon's roar.
And if one registered their Battle Armor through the Spirit Pagoda, they could even enjoy many exclusive benefits and policies.
For Battle Armor Masters, naming their armor was as desirable as naming themselves after becoming a Titled Douluo.
Yet Xia Yi, who already had a Two-word Battle Armor, hadn't even named it.
It was like a Super Douluo without a title—completely unbelievable.
"There's no rule saying you have to name it though, right?" Xia Yi replied calmly.
"By that logic, there's no rule saying a Titled Douluo must have a title either. But have you ever seen one without it?" the major shot him an exasperated look. "I may not be a Battle Armor Master myself, but I know that most names are related to the person's Martial Soul—usually the first one or two characters match the soul. When the armor evolves and the name gets longer, people tend to include names of those they care about. Can't you just give it a temporary name? Makes reporting easier. Otherwise, people might think your Two-word Battle Armor is fake."
"In that case…" Xia Yi stroked his chin thoughtfully. After a brief pause, he said, "Let's call it Dragon Thought, Phoenix Inscription."
"Dragon Thought, Phoenix Cry—four characters?!" The major blurted out in shock and quickly shook her head. "But you've only got a Two-word Battle Armor—how can you name it with four characters? That's against the rules!"
"Against the rules? Whose rules?" Xia Yi asked with a smile.
"This…" The major was momentarily speechless. It was more like common sense than an official regulation.
"Well, if there's no official rule, then that's settled. Besides, when my armor gets upgraded later, I won't need to rename it." Xia Yi said with a grin.
"What do I say if the higher-ups ask about it?" the major asked with a pained expression. The name Dragon Thought, Phoenix Inscription instantly reminded her of Leng Yaozhu's scene when she advanced to quasi-god.
"Just tell the truth," Xia Yi said flatly.
"All right, but let me warn you—this might make you come off as arrogant. People may think you're showing off," the major said seriously.
"People can think whatever they like. It has nothing to do with me." Xia Yi said indifferently.
The major could only sigh and nod. "Okay, wait here for a moment. I'll submit your information, then take you to the temporary barracks. Your official assignment will be decided by the senior officers after reviewing your file and assessment."
Just as the major finished submitting Xia Yi's information and was about to stand up, a fiery red figure appeared at the door.
"No need to trouble yourself. I'll take it from here," the figure said.
"Blood One!" Upon seeing the newcomer, the major instantly stood up and saluted respectfully.
"You can carry on. Don't worry about me," Leng Yaozhu said with a soft smile as she walked straight over to Xia Yi and took his arm. In the next instant, the two of them vanished.
When Xia Yi appeared again, he was inside a massive villa.
"Dragon Thought, Phoenix Inscription—that's a good name," Leng Yaozhu said with a gentle smile. She handed a military uniform and a medal to Xia Yi and said, "From today onward, you are officially a captain in the Blood God Battalion's logistics department."
"What? Captain, just like that? Yaozhu, you didn't abuse your power to favor your husband, did you?" Xia Yi joked as he happily accepted the uniform and medal.
"The captain rank was issued by the Blood God Legion. Assigning you to the Blood God Battalion was their decision too. I'm just the messenger. Though I won't deny I had some influence," Leng Yaozhu said playfully. She looked at Xia Yi with a teasing gaze. "What, is your manly pride hurt? Want to start from the bottom as a private?"
"I've always had weak teeth. I'm best suited to eating soft rice." Xia Yi replied with head held high, proudly shameless.
In front of his own woman, who needs pride as a man?
Thick skin is the real key to success.
"Idiot," Leng Yaozhu chuckled, covering her mouth with a smile. She knew that the reason Xia Yi was directly awarded a captain's rank was because he'd eliminated a possessed demon during the assessment.
As for being assigned to the Blood God Battalion—that was her doing.
After all, Xia Yi had traveled all this way. Zhang Huanyun couldn't very well separate him and Leng Yaozhu.
But everything had been decided by the Blood God Legion's high command. Leng Yaozhu hadn't said anything.
She simply hadn't refused.
The Blood God Battalion's nine Blood Gods were all Titled Douluo. Even the reserves were at least Soul Douluo-level. As for non-core members, they were still at least Soul Sages.
Xia Yi, a complete newcomer to the Blood God Legion, becoming part of the Blood God Battalion—this was a first in history.
