Leanna stood outside the CEO's office, trembling with joy.
Inside the office, Kane ran up and wrapped his arms around Daniel's leg.
"Daddy, did you miss me?" he asked with a grin.
"Of course, I did! Did you come here alone? Are you hungry? Want something to eat?"
"Yes!" Kane nodded eagerly.
Daniel carried Kane to the dining table and sat down.
He looked at the pink lunch box and thought, I knew it. This isn't just in my head. It's familiar.
When he opened the lunch box and saw the messy pasta and fried egg, his suspicions became stronger.
After thinking for a moment, he picked up a spoon and tasted it.
The flavor hit him right away.
I was right. This taste… it's familiar too. Daniel let out a light cough.
"Daddy, is the pasta yummy? That aunty said if you like it, she can be my new mommy…" Kane said, looking worried.
Hearing that, Daniel immediately understood everything.
