Chapter 4 - Day Two — Eisel’s Turn

Redeo Street, Arcanium

If Edna's idea of a date was "beat each other half to death and then eat molten fire," Eisel's was the exact opposite.

"Ta-da~!" she announced as she practically pulled me out of bed.

I blinked, still half-asleep. "You dragged me out for this?"

Eisel spun in place, arms thrown wide as if presenting an invitation to a private festival. Redeo Street sprawled behind her in full weekend chaos—floating snack carts, glowing shop signs, enchanted photo booths, and several costumed mascots dancing to magical pop music.

"It's festival day!" she beamed.

"…It's Wednesday."

"Yeah, but it's Redeo. There's always something happening."

I couldn't help but glance at a guy dressed as a sentient loaf of bread doing the worm. "That explains a lot."

"Come on," she said, grabbing my sleeve. "We only have six hours before sunset. I wanna hit everything."

"Define everything."

"Snacks. Games. Matching accessories. Romantic vibes.."

"…What was that third one?" I asked.

"Romantic vibes?" she repeated, feigning innocence, then quickly dragged me deeper into the crowd.

Stop One: Candy Wands & Starfruit Mochi

At a pop-up stall, a vendor held out glittering starfruit mochi on a stick. "Try one!" he urged.

"Say 'aah.'"

I tried to protest, "l,I can feed myself—mmph."

Before I could finish, she shoved a mochi into my mouth, grinning like a fox. "Taste it."

I coughed, my words muffled. "What the hell does that even mean?"

"It means you're cute," she said, with a smirk.

I sputtered, "Oh, come on."

"Just say thanks," she insisted, a playful spark in her eyes.

---

Stop Two: Enchanted Photo Booth

"This thing prints moving pictures?" I asked, eyeing the crystal orb suspended from the booth's ceiling.

Eisel shoved me into the booth. "Three shots. No poses. Just go with it."

In the first shot, she planted a quick kiss on my cheek. In the second, I flinched and accidentally knocked over a sparkling filter, showering the frame with extra glitz. The third shot found her laughing so hard she tumbled into my lap.

We stepped out a minute later, and she proudly held up the glowing print. "We're adorable, right?"

I glanced at the picture—my expression was one of shock mixed with reluctant amusement. "I'm burning that."

Eisel chucked as she said,"No I'm putting it on your dorm wall."

---

Stop Three: Trinket Stall

A stall offered two bracelets made of tiny, floating gemstones—one gleaming gold, the other a deep, mysterious blue.

"Here," she said, extending the jewelry.

"I don't really wear jewelry," I protested.

"You do today," she insisted.

"I'm not your pet," I grumbled, half-smiling.

"Maybe not, but for today and forever you're my boyfriend."

After a pause I said, "…Fine. But I'm choosing the color."

Eisel's smirk was all the answer I needed. , the gold one's already tied to your wrist."

---

Stop Four: Sweet Magic Confections

We wandered over to a confectionery stand boasting sweets infused with literal magic. The sign read: "Sweet Magic Confections – Where Every Bite Sparks a Memory."

Eisel's eyes lit up as she nudged me toward the counter. "Ever had candy that makes you feel… nostalgic?"

"Is that even possible?" I asked, doubtful yet intrigued.

The vendor handed us each a shimmering lollipop. "One lick and you'll remember your first laugh," he promised.

I hesitated, then took a lick. Instantly, a wave of warmth although I didn't remember my first laugh it was quite tasty & I smiled in genuine surprise.

Eisel clapped softly. "Told you."

"that was nice," I admitted. "But now I've got a sugar rush."

She laughed. "Brace yourself for the next round," she said, teasingly.

We lingered a while longer, sampling the sugary treats and swapping silly stories about our oddest candy experiences, the magic of the sweets sparking small, genuine moments of connection.

Evening — Redeo Street, Lantern Walk

As dusk fell, the streets softened in a warm orange hue. Little Floating island floated upward like lazy fireflies, and the busy energy mellowed into something more intimate.

Eisel strolled beside me, sipping on a cold, pink drink that matched her vibrant mood. Without looking, she leaned her head against mine.

"Today was pretty fun," she said casually.

"Yeah, it really was," I replied, feeling relaxed.

"Way better than Edna's date, right?"

"I'm not comparing. You're all terrifying in different ways....."

She laughed. "You love it"

Beak Yu-Seol smiled awkwardly unable to deny

She laughed. "Guess we both survived the street festival."

After a beat of silence, she added, "By the way, I got you that bracelet earlier?"

I glanced down at the gold one, now warming on my wrist. "Yeah, I see it."

"i hope you keep that with you"

I held out my hand to feel it better. "It suits me it matches with yours"

"Right?" Her eyes danced, teasing yet sincere

We walked in silence for a moment, warm air of Redeo Street wrapping around us in a gentle, familiar haze.

"Hey," Eisel broke the quiet, "tomorrow's a going to be even more dangerous"

I smirked. "You guys know how to keep things interesting."

She grinned and leaned in for a quick kiss—

"See you tomorrow, then," I said softly as she slipped away into the gentle nigh and headed towards girls dorms

Beak Yu-Seol sat nearby watching the sunset for a while.
