Buried in guilt, I reached my bike and saw that Caysir was no longer in the car. Arata must have informed him that she wasn't going to return, so he retired to his room.
Taking out my cell phone, I called Caysir.
"Ensure Arata remains safe. Check every few hours and take dinner to her," I instructed, knowing she would starve herself again.
I shouldn't be leaving her like that, but right now, I was the last person she wished to see.
Mounting my bike, I headed home. I needed a new plan and someone who could actually act as a mediator between us.
Arata was stubborn, and she wasn't going to listen to any of my pleas now. I was afraid she might take some harmful action which would haunt her in future.
Maybe I needed to speak with Ma. My stomach tightened with worries and Arata's thoughts. Betrayal and regret had taken an abode in her heart, and I wasn't even sure how I was going to win her back.
