The house starts to shake as Ma is washing dishes. When the shaking worsens, she stops the water and runs upstairs to get Pa.
Pa is sitting in his office, writing notes on his pad. The walls in his office are covered with notes and drawings of Cordayl, but you only see that briefly as he stops writing when he notices the house shaking. When it doesn't stop, he takes off his glasses and goes to check it out.
He runs into Ma on the stairs and he tells her to wait inside while he goes to check it out.
Opening his front door, Pa looks up to see two giant helicopters landing in his front yard. Pa turns around and smiles at Ma, who has a worried look on her face. He kisses her on the cheek before stepping out and shutting the door.
His face turns serious again. Pa puts on his glasses and approaches the two vehicles on his property. The vehicle's blades slow to a stop, and three people approach him.
"What is all this?" Pa asks.
"Ahh, so this is the famous Dr. Ully's home? Beautiful property." One of them compliments.
"I asked you a question," Pa states.
"We received intel that a highly sought after fugitive has been lurking in this area," another leader answers.
"Nobody but my family has been here," Pa replies.
"Well, maybe you and your family have met this fugitive and grown a soft spot for him. Not impossible, he is a cute kid," the officer who complimented the property says, turning his attention from the trees back to Pa.
"And I say kid loosely. Trust me when I say that little boy is host to a devil. One we will gladly take care of if you just be honest with us," the officer states, seeing through Pa's lie.
"I already told you the only ones here are my family. Now leave," Pa demands.
"Intel says he's in this area, and my gut says to check it out. Starting with the house," the officer smirks, stepping towards the home.
Pa steps in front of him. "You will do no such thing. As a Level eight official, I demand you stand down and return to your post immediately!" Pa shouts.
There is a moment of silence before the officers burst out laughing. "Forgive me for misleading you. Because I know you, that doesn't mean we fall under the same jurisdiction. I'm just a fan. I don't take orders from you. Or from those you take orders from. If we were under the same jurisdiction, I'd be a level ten official. Even my two subordinates here would outrank you," the officer tells him.
"You will lea-" Pa's words are cut short with the quick draw of two fingers in the form of a gun put to his face.
"I'm trying to be polite and courteous, but make no mistake," the officer moves the gun slightly and shoots a bird flying a bit too low. "My presence here means violence is necessary," the officer warns him.
Pa finally releases the breath he had been holding. "You may look around the property, but my home is off-limits," he says.
"Ah, ah, you're not my boss, remember? " the officer tells him with a smirk. Turning around, he orders his men to spread out and search the property.
Instead, all his men start to point their weapons at him.
The officer stares at them, but he quickly realizes that the boy must be behind him.
With no wasted movement, the officer throws a backward kick. Cordayl easily blocks it, and immediately, the other two officers jump in and start the 3v1.
Cordayl easily fights them all, and once they all hit the ground, the soldiers all fire upon Cordayl in unison, disregarding Pa's safety.
Cordayl quickly reverses gravity, forcing the barrels of the soldiers toward the sky. Switching his attention to them, he quickly fights and knocks out the soldiers.
As Cordayl is whooping the soldiers, the officers slowly stand back up. One of the officers breaks out a small bottle of liquid and starts to drink it. As his body begins to steam and bulk up, he throws the bottle at the professor. "Good stuff, Doc. Let's see if it works."
Pa catches the bottle and dips his finger in it to see a blue liquid. Growing angry, he throws the bottle down and watches as the man walks up to Cordayl, who has just dropped the last soldier.
Cordayl turns his head as he feels some heavy footsteps walking towards him.
Scratching his head, Cordayl turns and stands face to face with the officer hulking over him.
"Playtime is over, brat. Last chance to come peace-" Cordayl cuts his sentence short, jumping up and uppercutting the man.
The man eats the punch, grabs Cordayl's leg and throws him away. Cordayl, shocked and flying through the air, reverses gravity on himself and stops all of his momentum.
Sprinting back into the fight, he is intercepted by another officer who has also seemed to get a second wind.
Cordayl fights him off as the third officer dives in. Cordayl grows tired of these two and sends them each flying in opposite directions with a sudden gravity push.
As soon as the two officers are pushed away from him, the first hulked-out officer comes crashing down upon the earth, smashing Cordayl with both fists.
The dust clears and the bulked out officer's fist are touching the terraformed earth, but Cordayl isn't under them.
The officer tries to move, but he can't seem to lift his hands off of the dirt. He pulls and pulls, but no amount of strength allows his hands to free themselves from the dirt.
Suddenly, Cordayl is in his face. The officer's eyes show a fear as he sees Cordayl's eyes through his dreadlocks.
Cordayl unleashes a mean combo on the man's unguarded face when suddenly, a big ball of energy rushes past him.
Looking in the direction of the shot, Cordayl's eyes grow wide as he quickly disappears, and the muscular officer collapses onto the ground.
The officer who did the most talking is the one who rolled next to Pa.
Gritting his teeth, the officer stands up and points his fingers at Cordayl, as the energy builds up, the officer grabs his wrist with his free hand to support the shot.
Target locked, the officer smiles.
"No!" Pa shouts, throwing his shoulder into the officer and disrupting his aim, causing the officer to miss Cordayl completely.
Enraged, the officer drops Pa with a punch, and with no hesitation, shoots an energy ball through his stomach.
Pa's eyes widen as he feels a burning sensation in his stomach. Looking down, he sees a hole in his midsection and he touches it in disbelief.
Looking at his blood-covered hand, he looks up to stare at the officer who just shot him and sees Cordayl, a black aura swirling all around him, behind the officer.
The officer turns around to attack Cordayl, but before the swing gets close to landing, the gravity is erased, and the two are miles in the air.
The officer is at a loss of words seeing the world from this height.
Marveling at the sight, Cordayl reverses the gravity, and they start to descend back to the earth. Cordayl shrinks the gravity affected to just him, leaving the officer screaming and free-falling through the air as he quickly descends to check on Pa.
The third officer rushes over to Pa to try and stop the bleeding. Applying pressure, he knows that immediate action will not be enough to save this man.
The man is so busy trying to save Pa, he doesn't even notice Cordayl is behind him until Cordayl has the man by the back of his neck and is squeezing it like a stress relief ball.
The officer pulls at Cordayl's fingers, trying to break free, but to no avail. "Please, I can save him." The man whispers desperately, as he feels his neck about to break.
Cordayl ignores him, as his anger is blocking out all words.
"Cordayl, let him go," Pa asks weakly.
Cordayl's grip softens upon hearing Pa's words, and he reluctantly listens, throwing the man away from Pa.
"Thank you. Apply pressure to me, Cordayl, and don't be gentle. You, call a medical evacuation now," Pa instructs the officer.
"No need, one of my men is a medic." The officer says, limping away.
Cordayl drops down and applies direct pressure on Pa's wound with the aid of gravity, but his face shows worry as his hands feel the warm blood that has already soaked up the gauze over Pa's wound.
"It'll be fine, Cordayl. Just focus." Pa tells him.
The officer picks up an unconscious soldier and tells him to assist the professor. As the rest of the men groggily stand up, they clench their fists and stare at Cordayl.
Cordayl stares back, ready to put everyone back to sleep, but the last remaining officer steps in.
"Everyone, stand down! Those who are conscious get the others up and prepare to depart. The wounded are the priority as of now." He orders.
The men hesitate to follow their superior's directions. Suddenly, the officer who shot Pa crashes into the earth. The soldiers look towards the area where their old boss landed, then look at Cordayl and decide to follow the orders.
The officer limps back to check on Pa and ask for an update. The medic tells him its not good and they need to get the professor back to the city now.
"What about this?" The officer asks, pulling out the same bottle the hulked-up officer drank earlier.
"No." Pa coughs. "That stuff is still in its testing cycle. It's not ready for consumption. See."
They all look at the one officer who drunk the liquid and see that his body is now as skinny as a starving man's.
"We need to get him back to the kingdom." The medic tells them.
Cordayl is resistant to letting them take Pa, but Pa assures him that everything will be fine. Cordayl floats the professor to the helicopter and Pa grabs his hand and smiles before the helicopter starts to rev up.
Suddenly Ma is at the open door, crying and holding onto Pa in her confusion. Pa smiles and tells her its gonna be fine.
"I'll be patched up and back in no time." He tells her.
"Ma'am time is of the essence." The officer says as he urges her to step back so they can get Pa the proper medical attention. The door slams and the helicopter quickly lifts off and flies away.
Cordayl watches the helicopter depart, worrying about Pa.
"Cordayl, are you okay?" Ma asks, looking at him with a tinge of fear. Cordayl looks at her, curious as to why she is staring at him like that, but then he remembers his hands.
Looking at them, he sees that both of his palms are covered in Pa's blood, and Cordayl starts to panic as he starts to hear the screams of his tribespeople.
Stepping back, Cordayl hears his name again and looks up to see Ma all dusty and ashy. Behind her he sees Tavis and his sister dusty and ashy as well. The entire scene looks dusty and ashy.
Cordayl continues to back away as he starts to hyperventilate. Ma takes a step towards him, but Cordayl takes off running in the opposite direction.
Tears fall from his eyes as he runs as fast and far away as possible.
