The rest of his group ran past us, the 3 girls of his party seemed to ignore us completely as if we were not a threat. I did not feel like one, anyway.
"Wow!" said Lhana when she saw the statue.
I stood up quickly. For a second I was about to rush, but I knew it would be dangerous. They were not attacking it, they were not trying to destroy it, and they seemed genuinely confused.
"Hey, hey, hey!" I screamed, standing up. "We are the first ones to discover it! And don't touch it! Who knows what will do to you!"
Masaki looked at me with a defiant and murderous look when I told him not to touch it. I swallowed saliva, but he did what I expected him to do without questioning it.
