Eleanor swallowed. The notebook in her hand suddenly felt too heavy.
"I… I don't know," she said, eyes lowered. "I never really thought about it like that."
Aurora didn't look convinced. Her voice was soft, but there was something sharp hidden beneath the words.
"You've been around him a lot lately. It's hard not to think about it."
Eleanor's lips parted, but no words came out.
Aurora leaned forward again, her expression gentle but firm. "Just tell me the truth. Do you like him?"
Eleanor's shoulders tensed, and she felt like she was backed into a corner. "He's nice to me," she said carefully.
"I enjoy spending time with him. But that doesn't mean I have feelings..."
Aurora lifted one eyebrow. "Would you get jealous if he dated someone else?"
That question hit like a dart to Eleanor's chest.
Still, she kept her face as neutral as she could.
