Chapter 19 - Beginnings And Ends (19)

Kuroi weeps on Kiko's shoulder, his sorrow being poured onto her shoulder. His voice struggled to speak through his crying. "I... just...want to....be useful for once in this fucking hellhole!"

He cried even more as Kiko shushed him softly. "I know you want to help but, he can't connect with us until the curse is broken and that's the harsh reality we have to live with."

Kuroi wiped tears from his face. "We've just been alone for so many centuries. I just want someone else to know our pain and suffering, connecting with us."

Kiko holds his face in her palms, trying to calm him still. "I know Kuroi. It's just something we need to move past and become stronger from, Okay?"

Kuroi and Kiko look into each other's eyes, their revenant resonating with each other.

Kodak backs away from the door and his face becomes conflicted. He walks to the kitchen, grabbing a bag of off-brand cereal. He then hears knocking on the door as he is about to devour the cereal he just poured.

He looks over at the door in annoyance, before briefly walking over and opening the door.

Kodak sees 3 doctors, 1 man and 2 women. "Can I help you?" He says, wanting to get back to his breakfast.

"Yes, we are here for Aiya Tensai. We need to take her to the hospital." The man speaks.

Kodak's eyes widen, not realizing what day was today. "(Today is Aiya's last day!?)"

He runs into Satsujin and Aiya's room, his face turned pale.

There was an Aiya barely holding onto life. Her face was drained of life and Satsujin was weeping at his side, along with his sons.

Ashiro cried slightly, While Atsuo was bawling his eyes out and calling out to his mother. "Mom! Please don't die!"

Aiya smiled weakly toward her family. She looks around the room, eventually finding the one missing person.

"Oh... Kodak... you're... here... never thought I'd see you cry for little old me." Aiya's voice was weak and shaky. Her smile was still trying to shine for them all but was like a dying star about to lose its spark. It was clear that she was on the verge of death. Tears swell in Kodak's eyes, he looks at Ashiro standing up and walking up to his sickly mother. Multiple thoughts run through his mind.

"(Why is this happening to her? Why is my mother dying and not some cold-hearted bastard who deserved to die!?)"

Aiya hugged her son, crying with him, not wanting to leave this world. As the mother and her son held each other.

The warmth that she always emitted to others began to fade. Her pupils fade and as she smiled at her family one last time, Aiya's head leaned on her pillow and her warmth left completely.

Satsujin walked out of the room, his eyes looked down at the ground. Memories of his now late wife overflowed his mind. The honeymoons, the dates, and even their first child Ashiro. These were one of the vast amounts of joyous memories that overwhelmed Satsujin with great sadness.

He then looked up at the ceiling, trying to keep his emotional strength. "(I need to be strong. Strong enough for Kodak and my children."

He then noticed a photo on the wall, it was of him and Aiya. Their happy wedding day.

Aiya was smiling in the photo while Satsujin was being tackled by a playful Ashiro.

Tears flow down his face even more profusely. It was too much, this emotional pain of his wife's death caused nothing but a gaping hole in his heart.

A voice then spoke into Satsujin's mind. "Let me takeover, let me fix this broken family."

He knew this voice, it was Jashi. He didn't want him to take over his body again. He didn't want Kodak and his family to be potentially in danger once more. He held his head in pain, trying to overcome the battle for his body that Jashi so desperately needed control of.

"(GET OUT OF MY HEAD YOU CRAZY BASTARD!!!)"

Jashi smiled from the mindscape. "(Who knew that this body would be so mentally weak. It honestly shocks me how pathetic his mind is.)"

The battle for control waged on and on, tearing away at Satsujin's sanity so painfully.

It was nothing but pure agony waging in his mind, slowly tearing it all apart. Memories even started to fade, Satsujin tried so desperately to hang on to those treasured memories. He yelled at Jashi in the mindscape. "IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT!? TO SEE ME SUFFER IN VAIN, WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WANT YOU PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT!!!"

Jashi's voice spoke. "Power."

He then appeared in front of Satsujin. He looked at Jashi in confusion.

"What?" Satsujin questioned him, not knowing what he meant by the vague response.

"Why so confused? You were once all-powerful in those martial tournaments. No one could beat you until Shiro Kawanari showed up." Jashi spoke as memories of tournaments involving martial arts flooded his mind.

Shiro Kawanari stood over Satsujin. "You were strong Tensai-Ssi. But I'm something much bigger to withhold."

Satsujin then looked at Jashi, his anger raged more. Causing him to try and strike him with multiple kicks and punches, all aiming to be lethal. "Why are you showing me this bullshit!!!"

A fast jab then knocks straight into Jashi's face, and blood leaks from his nose. But no other damage was noticeable. Jashi brings his fists up, seemingly striking Satsujin in the face. Strong winds blow from the punch, he smiles with confidence. "You're nothing but a puppet so just shut the fuck up trash!"

Jashi then tries pulling his fist back and looks at Satsujin in shock.

"You know, for someone who's seemingly a puppet, you're so damn pathetic with martial arts!"

Satsujin grasps onto Jashi's hand tightly, not loosening his grip for even a second. "All you fucking do is just overwhelm people with strength and speed, but your techniques fall shorter than mediocrity. I have no clue how you beat that clan leader in the memory you unintentionally showed me, your technique is worse than a newborn child."

Jashi's revenant then activates in the mindscape. His anger echoed through the mindscape, sending chills down Satsujin's spine. "YOU DARE TO CHALLENGE ME IN A BATTLE OF CONTROL!!!"

Kodak looks at the now deceased Aiya, tears fall down his face. "I'll miss you Aiya-San, just promise you'll look over me and the others."

Ashiro puts his hand on Kodak's shoulder, reassuring him of her unexpected death. "It's okay, mom passed peacefully knowing her loved ones surrounded her in her final moments."

His voice was still filled with the sorrow from his mother's death. Atsuo lay on the ground, curled up with his eyes staring at the cold face of Aiya. But she had her warm smile reassuring them somehow.

Satsujin began to breathe heavily, scoffing under his breath. "(You're gonna have to try harder than that you bastard!)"

Jashi clenched his jaw in the mindscape. "(Just you wait Satsujin, I'll tear this life of yours apart.")"

Satsujin wakes up finding himself on the couch.

A memory plays back in his mind, one after Kodak had saved him from Jashi's pathetic attempts at taking over his mind.

"Let's make a deal," Jashi said sticking his hand out.

Satsujin looked at the hand. "What do you want?" His voice was curious for what Jashi had in store for him but still stayed on guard.

"We form a mutual contract over your body and if one of us breaks it, we pay big time." The deal felt tempting and sounded good, but Satsujin knew better.

"So how much shit are you full of?" He glared at Jashi, egging him to try something.

"You got me Jin-San. Your perception of lies is better than your own."

Satsujin snapped at him quickly at the nickname he just used. "My friends use that; you don't deserve such privileges!"

Jashi rolled his eyes in annoyance and ignored Satsujin's complaint. "How boring. You children don't know how to take a joke nowadays."

His tone was mockful and reeked of ignorance. It sent Satsujin's rage off. "Jokes?! I thought those were supposed to be funny. But all I see is someone who makes ill-mannered jokes, thinking they're harmless. But in reality, you want to control people because you didn't get a proper family in your life!"

Jashi's ears perk up from the insult and grabs Satsujin by the neck, slamming him into the ground furiously. His face was filled with killing intent, it made Satsujin smirk at him.

"Losing your cool? What a fucking amateur you are."

Jashi stared at him coldly, briefly letting him go. "You're right, but so are you. After all, you can barely be considered a B-Rank revenant ranker." He said while releasing Satsujin from his grip.

"You may be able to keep me trapped here but the moment you have a taste of the power of revenant, you'll lose everything that once trusted and that leads you back to me!"

He scoffed at Jashi, exiting the mindscape.

The memory ends while Satsujin just sits on the couch. A message then appears in front of him.

[Revenant Unlocked!]

"(Huh, what the hell?)"

His mind began to wonder about the message in front of him, was it real, was it a hallucination?

"No, it's real, and I feel incredible!"

Kodak kneels in front of Aiya, praying for her. "(Please guide her to the right path she deserves to be on.)"

Ashiro looks over at the praying stance Kodak took. "I didn't know you were Jewish?"

"I'm not. I just want Aiya to end up in heaven, that's all." Kodak said, calmly explaining his reasons.

Suddenly a message pops up in front of Kodak.

[Skill: Radar has detected a revenant user!]

Kodak ignores the message. "(It's probably reacting to Ashiro, after all, he's still unstable with his control of revenant manipulation.)"

He stands up, walking into the living room, there laid Satsujin. Peacefully sleeping on the comfy leather couch that lingered in the house.

A knock was heard at the door, Kodak walked out the door and a surprise was met by his eyes.

Kohaku, Himari, Kyoka, Akari, and Fumiko showed up at the door, taking him by surprise.

Kodak stood there confused and puzzled at why Fumiko and her friend group was standing there in front of him. "Why are you guys here?"

But before his question could be answered, Fumiko hushes him by placing her pointer finger on his lips. "Just follow us, plus you might want to get Ashiro and Atsuo."

Kodak shrugged and went along with the girls, after all there was no reason to not go along with their shenanigans.

"Alright, just give me like 5 minutes," Kodak said while reaching over to a shoe rack, and grabbing a pair of black and white high-top shoes.

Kodak called out to the Tensai brothers, telling them to follow him outside.

"Oh, is it time already?!" Ashiro said it seemed he knew what was going on.

Atsuo shortly followed his brother, the both of them putting on their sneakers and rushing out to Fumiko's group.

Kodak walked outside and saw a massive red van, holding not just Fumiko's group but also what appeared to be the other siblings.

He waved to the siblings, "(Nao would've gotten along with these bunch.)"

Ashiro nudged Kodak on the shoulder, trying to cheer him up. "Hey, Nao's death wasn't your fault Kodak. So, cheer up it's your birthday party man!"

Akari smacked her face in disappointment. "Ashiro you just spoiled the surprise!!!" She pouted toward him, hitting him at his arm.

"Hey! You should know I suck at surprises Akari-San."

She stopped hitting him and sat back in her seat in the red van. She cursed under her breath at him, not wanting the siblings to hear it.

"Dumbass"

Ashiro chuckled to himself and quickly hopped in the van, eagering Kodak to come along. "Come on bro, we're going to be late!"

Kodak smirked at the others and hopped in the van, sitting in between Fumiko and Ashiro. The group then introduced their siblings. The first sibling was Charlotte Haruka, a toddler with black hair and dressed in casual wear. Almost similarly to her sister Fumiko. Her attitude was similar to a younger version of Fumiko, it gave Kodak a great sense of nostalgia.

He looked down at his phone, looking at photo of him and Fumiko spending time with some different friends. Kodak missed the others, hell he wondered if they remembered him.

Kohaku spoke up with her voice that eluded of mature and intellect. "This is my younger brother Masashi Sato."

Kodak looks over at the brother. Small physique, glasses, and a red polo shirt with dark grey jeans.

The young boy stuck out his hand wanting a handshake. "It's nice you meet you Kodak. My big sis told me a lot about you!"

The boy's enthusiasm reminded Kodak of Akuma. He smiled at Masashi, it felt nice to have someone this similar to his little sister.

"You too kid." Kodak's smile turned soft, and Kohaku noticed immediately, she leaned back from her seat whispering into his ear. "He reminds you of your little sis?"

Kodak nodded, and he thought back to his sister. He thought about how she brightened his day and brought all the family shenanigans to life. She overall just made life enjoyable in the darkest hour. "(I miss Akuma, but now's not the time. I must get stronger; I could barely take on Jashi. Hell, I doubt I could take him on at the max output of my Kinetic charge technique.)"

Kodak thinks even more intensely, wanting to know if it is possible to beat Jashi at his current. He shook his head, trying to tell himself to focus on the friends he had as of now. "(It's my birthday party. The least I could do is have a little fun.)"

Kyoka waves at Kodak trying to get his attention, taking him away from his deep thoughts. "Huh?" He looked up and Kyoka was vigorously waving her hands, trying to get his attention. "Hey, hey! Kodak are you going to dream all day or are you going to say hi to others ya numbskull?"

Fumiko glares at Kyoka and tugs at her ear, like a mother scolding her child. "Back off, let be deep in his thoughts."

Kyoka headbutts Fumiko, snapping back at her. "I just want him to get his head out of his ass and be here now, plus he needs to stop worrying about the past already."

Fumiko holds her head in pain and is thinking to herself deeply. "(I wish revenant was usable in this situation.)"

The bickering of the two was broken up immediately by Ashiro. He sighed a breath of relief, scolding to two girls. "Why are you two fighting in a car!?"

The two of them look away embarrassed, but Ashiro doesn't let up and tries to scold them even further.

Kodak pushes Ashiro back to his seat with his hand in his face. "Knock it off." He then looks over at the little girl by Kyoka and questions her.

"And what's your name?" Kodak said, trying to switch the topic of the current situation.

The girl looked at him, her eyes burned brightly. "(She's just like Kyoka's cousin: Akachi.)"

Kodak thought back to how he first met Akachi.

A younger version of Kodak walked down the streets of Seoul, minding his own business.

"HEY!"

He turned around and was met by a leg kicking straight at his head. "Whoa!"

Kodak jumps back while watching the kick speed through the air, narrowly missing him.

"Who the fuck are you?" Kodak's tone was annoyed and harsh towards the opponent who stood before him.

"Akachi of the Fujimoto clan, and your Kodak of the Kawanari clan."

The boy pointed a wooden katana at him, threatening him. "I challenge you to a duel Kawanari!"

Kodak stared at the boy blankly, not taking him seriously. Why was he chosen? Whatever the reason was he didn't need this foolish fight.

"Yeah, I'm not interested Akachi, so go fuck off," Kodak said while lifting his hand and flipping off Akachi as he walked away.

A vein burst forth from his jaw as he clenched his wooden katana.

"I SAID I CHALLENGE YOU!!!" Akachi rushed forward, swinging his blade down at the seemingly clueless Kodak.

"Slow."

Kodak moved his body out of the way, causing Akachi to miss almost completely Kodak.

The boy clenched his weapon even tighter and swung wildly at Kodak.

"(This is just pathetic. He doesn't even know how to swing a blade; he's just trying to bash my skull in.)"

Kodak continued dodging every strike thrown at him from Akachi's blade, his boredom increasing after every missed attack.

Suddenly he struck the blade during the swinging motion of it, shattering the weapon into pieces. Akachi looked at the blade shatter in his hands, shocked by Kodak's swift yet powerful counterattack.

"(He broke my weapon!?)" Akachi's shocked expression plastered across his face. "(What kind of shit did he train for to become such a monster?!)"

Kodak's eyes focused on his opponent; his gaze pierced straight through him. His mind raced as Akachi wondered to himself about the vastly superior opponent standing before him. "(Something was different from the other opponents I've fought. What other types of martial arts can he do?)"

Akachi looked at the broken weapon, tossing it aside. He then took a fighting stance. Kodak smirked at the stance and etched closer, taking his time to predict Akachi's next move. "Taido martial arts, you rarely see those nowadays. Everyone just wants to be a basic boxer or a fast kicker." Akachi ignored his opponent, circling him.

Kodak frowned at the circling that Akachi executed, scoffing at the boy. "Tch, you're so obvious."

He rushed at Akachi throwing aggressive punches and kicks, while his opponent could only dodge. Kodak then threw a punch at him, smirking with confidence.

Akachi clenched his jaw in annoyance. "YOU'RE SO PREDICTABLE!" He dodged Kodak's punch and dropped to the ground instantly, flowing into a Manji kick.

Kodak noticed the position, jumped back, and tackled Akachi to the ground, putting him in a chokehold. "I guess it's my win."

Akachi felt the tight grip Kodak had around his throat. He tapped his shoulder, signaling Kodak to release the grip on his opponent.

Kodak released it and backed away immediately, still not letting his guard down.

Akachi looked over at him, annoyed. "(It's over, so why is he still guarding up. Is he used to people tricking him?)"

Kodak's gaze pierced into Akachi once more, but before he could even react Akachi spoke to him. "Let's be friends Kawanari-SSI!"

"Sure, why not."

"Oh, you don't wanna- wait what!?" Akachi stood across from Kodak, confused about why his aggressive opponent was fine with being friends.

Kodak scratched his head in confusion. "You wanted to become friends, so I was inclined to do so. Are you just tricking me into friendship or something?"

"What, no! It's just most martial artists would've mocked and taunted me at the thought of friendship." Akachi still couldn't figure out why Kodak was so fine with being friends with him.

"Well, I'm not most martial artists am I?" Kodak replied with a smug grin.

Akachi smirked at him and walked up, shaking his hand. "I guess so."

Kodak smiled back with optimism. "It's decided then, from here on out we'll be best friends."

Akachi smiled at the thought of having a best friend, the mere thought of having something he never experienced seemed delightful.

The two of them then shake hands saying to one another. "From now on, let's both get stronger. The strongest!"

The nostalgic memory ends and Kodak looks back to Kyoka's younger sister. "What did you say your name was?"

The girl smirked with a sense of overconfidence eluding her.

Kodak realized that look and smiled at her slightly nervous. "(Yup, just like Akachi. Confident to a fault and has a burning determination.)"

The girl finally spoke, her tone was strong and uplifting to herself in particular. "Akemi Fujimoto! I wanna fight you!"

Kodak smirks, nostalgic of how Akachi and he briefly fought against him. "Sorry, but you'd lose Akemi-San."

She looked at Kodak, bored out of her mind. "How boring, I bet your just scared."

Kodak shakes his head in denial, while Akemi continues her need for a challenge. "Fight me! Fight me! Fight me! Fight me! Fight me! Fight me!"

But her constant bickering was just ignored. A vein spreads across her neck, anger sets onto Akemi's face. "JUST FIGHT ME!"

Kyoka pulled her sister back, talking to her. "It's the dude's birthday, so please do us all a favor and shut up lil sis."

Akemi finally shuts up and sits back down next to Kyoka, sitting in silence for the car ride.

Kodak then feels something tug at his sleeve. Kodak looks over, seeing that Fumiko at a small neatly wrapped gift for him. The wrapping was bright and cheerful and the gift was light when Kodak took it from Fumiko.

He unwraps the gift, revealing a dark purple crystal bound to a glistening silver necklace chain.

Kodak looked at the necklace and then back at her, saying. "Thank you, Fumiko."

Her face blushed even more red and she muttered under her breath. "You're welcome."

Charlotte noticed her big sister blushing towards Kodak and smirks towards their interaction, smiling smugly. "Is he your boyfriend Fumiko?" She asked while snickering.

Kodak looked away trying to hide his blushing red face. While Fumiko grabbed her little sister, denying the more than obvious feelings she had for Kodak.

Himari then called out to everyone in the van, interrupting the ruckus involving Kodak and Fumiko. "Hey, lovebirds! We're here at the diner."

Everyone stepped out, stretching their legs from the cramped van. Kodak looked at the name of the diner. "(Tensai Family Diner!?)"

Kodak remembered what he and Akuma saw on their first day in town. "(It's the same place that my sister wanted so desperately to go. I guess we never did get a chance.)"

The sign for restaurant was a golden yellow and purple, with two mascots on it. A yellow fox and a light brown bear, both sporting a yellow and purple hat.

The sound of cheerful children laughing came from outside the diner, it gave the atmosphere a surreal feeling of happiness. Fumiko and Kohaku open the doors, insisting the others go in first.

Akari and Ashiro dash into the diner with Atsuo quickly following, not wanting to be left behind. The three of them looked around the yellow and purple tile floors accompanied by two animatronics performing. It was weird to see such huge animatronics performing a show with such fluid movements, they felt like real animals coming to life.

Atsuo then heard something to the left, he turns his head and looked over to see a massive ball pit. Roughly the size of a medium-sized pool.

"Ashiro! Can I go play in that ball pit?" Atsuo was previously quiet and even a little timid with the other siblings from Fumiko's group, but even he couldn't withstand the joyous experience of a ball pit.

Ashiro looks over at the ball pit and back at Atsuo. "You don't get to ask permission bro. Just do whatever, I'll be with the others and make sure you come over when I call for you. Okay, Atsuo?"

His younger brother nods and rushes over to the ball pit with excitement, diving straight into it.

Ashiro chuckles to himself, briefly watching his brother have fun with the others in it. He then feels someone bump into him rudely. Ashiro looks closer and sees it is just an old man with bandages wrapped around his face.

Kodak walks in the diner with the rest of the girls, they stood in awe at the sight of the diner's design and size.

"This place is huge!" He exclaimed while looking around the beautifully designed diner. Fumiko smirked at Kodak's excitement about the restaurant. "(Looks like he's having a hell of a time.)"

She feels a tug on her sweatpants, prompting her to look down at her younger sister. "Hm, what is it Akemi?"

Her sister pointed towards the ball pit, asking her. "Can go play in the pit with Atsuo-San! Please?"

Fumiko smiled at Akemi and nodded her head, implying that her sister was more than welcome to go to the ball pit.

Akemi's face lights up at Fumiko's response to her question. She rushes down the diner, shortly arriving at the ball pit and jumping into it with excitement.

Atsuo bursts forth from the pit, smiling around the seemingly endless ball pit.

He suddenly hears a shout from a girl. "CANNONBALL!!!"

Atsuo snaps around, looking behind him to see Akemi jumping into the ball pit with her legs tucked in between her arms.

As she soared through the air, Akemi crashed into Atsuo. Her knees smashed into his forehead, while he fell to the ground of the pit. "Ow..."

Atsuo arises from the floor of the ball pit, holding his head in pain from the knees that collided with his forehead. He then feels something tug down back to the floor of the ball pit. "Ah!"

He looks around to see who pulled him down, trying to figure out who just kneed him in the face.

Suddenly a girl pops out of nowhere, catching Atsuo off-guard. "AH!"

He stumbles backward, hitting the back of his head on the ball pit's floor. He groaned in pain, wondering how he could be this clumsy in one day.

Atsuo held his head one more, it was even more pain than before and even felt a bit tender. Charlotte scratches her head, confused on how Atsuo was this clumsy despite being a partial martial artist.

"(He's clumsy, the polar opposite of me.)" Charlotte tapped on his shoulder, getting Atsuo's attention.

"Hey, wonder boy get up. You're just embarrassing yourself at this point." Atsuo looked up at Charlotte, her tone was very straight forward, but she seemed to care at least somewhat.

Atsuo took her hand and the both of them rose from the ball pit's floor.

Ashiro and Fumiko chuckled at their sibling's interactions with one another.

"Your brother is kind of a numbskull," Fumiko says while nudging Ashiro in the side to get a reaction out of him.

A face of annoyance plasters over his face. "Yeah, yeah. And your sister struggles to read social cues. Must run in the family."

Fumiko and Ashiro glare at each other, fighting childishly. Kohaku and Himari just watch in the distance, sitting at a table with a variety of pizzas and other side dishes.

Kodak looks at a certain machine across the arcade. It had a punching bag attached to the mechanical arm, slightly bigger than a speed bag. He unzips his jacket and tosses it to the ground. He rolls up the sleeves of his long shirt. "(Let's see how much this bag can take!)"

Kodak sets his feet and reels his arm back and forth, aiming at the center of the bag. His lungs take in a deep breath and he closes his eyes.

Kohaku's brother wanders through the arcade, looking at the variety of different video games and activities to do.

A loud sound could be heard from not too far away. Almost like an impact from a punch crash through metal.

Masashi ran through the arcade until he saw sparks flying through the air.

"Kodak!?"

Masashi looked at the punching bag machine, it was barely holding on to life.

His eyes looked at Kodak reeling out of the machine. "(I thought this machine would be stronger than that.)"

Kodak turned around and saw Masashi looking at him in awe, his eyes sparkled like two suns crashing into one another.

"Oh! Hey Masashi, what are you doing back here?" Kodak said trying to not get in trouble with the fact he just trashed a machine by accident.

Masashi looked back at the machine and then at Kodak again. "Are you a superhero!?"

His voice echoed through the same area that the two of them stood in. Kodak chuckled at the question that Masashi asked him.

"Oh, dear god no. But who knows maybe I am." Kodak said, teasing the thought of him being a superhero.

"Atsuo get off that thing!"

Kodak and Masashi look at the direction of yelling, it seemed to be Ashiro. The two of them walk over the direction of yelling.

Ashiro was telling his younger brother to get off the animatronic, but Atsuo wasn't doing anything.

Kodak and Masashi joined their group, looking at what was happening.

"Akari-San, what is happening?"

She looked to her left and saw Kodak. "Oh, this? Atsuo does this all time. Apparently this happens all the time and Satsujin scolds them all the time. Wait is he working here today?"

Kodak and Akari looked around and surely enough, they saw Satsujin's office where he was working on his personal computer.

"Should we tell him?" Akari asked, worried that something might happen.

"Atsuo get down! You could get hurt from the robot's rapid and unstable movements from the amount of weight you're putting on it!"

"Bleh!" Stuck out his tough, ignoring his brother's words.

Ashiro grabs his brother very suddenly, trying to pull him off the robot. "Come on! Get off the damn robot!"

He tears Atsuo off the robot and scolds him. "what the hell are you doing?! Think of how badly hurt you'd get!"

Atsuo slaps away Ashiro's hand and runs back towards the animatronic, grabbing its ears and jumping onto its head.

Ashiro runs after him, yelling for Atsuo to get down. "Get down Atsuo! You really could get badly injured when dealing with such a heavy and complex animatronic!

Atsuo then sticks his head into the animatronic and ignores Ashiro's pleas. "Whatever, it's not like this is gonna kill me!"

He then feels his head bump into something in the robot's head. It felt like a spring and then the head of the bear animatronic snapped shut.

Blood pours profusely from the animatronic, Ashiro rushes over, but Kohaku and Kodak hold him back. "YOU CAN'T ASHIRO!"

"WHY NOT!?" His voice cracked and tears fell from his eyes, dripping onto the blood that stained the purple and yellow tile floors.

Kodak turned him around, making Ashiro face him. "Cause it's a spring lock, if you cause any sudden movements Atsuo could die in this very moment, if he stays still he'll be fine.

A crunching sound then echoes from the bloody animatronic. Atsuo screams even louder. "I'M SORRY JUST PLEASE HELP ME! PLEASE ASHIRO-"

His voice is then cut off completely, another spring lock goes off and Atsuo's head is completely crushed through his cries for help and agony. Bits of his brain, bones, flesh, and blood scatter across the diner's floor.

The diner echoes with screams of parents and their children rushing out of the restaurant. Police shortly arrive on the scene as Ashiro falls to the ground, his face is covered in blood and bits of his brother's brain.

His eyes look at his younger brother. "No... Not again. PLEASE TELL ME THIS JUST SOME TWISTED DREAM!!!"

He runs up to the animatronic, tearing his brother's lifeless body from the animatronic. Ashiro looked down at the crushed end of Atsuo's neck.

His breathing became short and he began to breathe faster and faster, with every breath he felt like his own sins were crawling on his back, coming to drag him to the depths of hell.

Kodak rushed over with the others over to Ashiro, the police intervene between the group and their friend, trying to keep them separated. "STAY BACK! GIVE THIS BOY SOME SPACE!"

Kodak gritted his teeth, shoving an officer out of his way. "GET THE FUCK OFF ME! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS YOU BASTARDS!"

The police officers rushed at him, but their chief warned him. "Try all you like, but that's a Kawanari, he'll throw you around & tear through you if he chooses to do so.

Kodak's face was filled with rage and regret, maybe he could have saved Atsuo. He had revenant and the power to change that fate, but instead he died not knowing what kind of life he could have lived. It tore away at Kodak's mind, it was like a consistent plague eating away at his sanity.

"ASHIRO!" He screamed out, needing to know if he was fine. Needing to know if Ashiro had even an ounce of humanity left in him.

Kodak finally reached to him and grasped his shoulder firmly, yet gently at the same time. "Ashiro are you-"

His eyes widened in horror as he saw Ashiro's lifeless eyes.

His pupil and iris had gone completely black. He could even hear Ashiro whispering to himself, cursing at himself. "My fault... Failure.... Why... Am I cursed...Why am I the fucking worst?"

Kodak gritted his teeth and hugged his friend. His tears poured out and his lips trembled in sorrow and pain. "I-I-I-I'm sorry Ashiro, I wish I could do something, but not even the dead can return."

Ashiro looked up at him and his lifeless face just stared at him. Suddenly they heard a voice. "This... can't be..."

Kodak turned around and his eyes widened. "Jin-San...."

Satsujin had tears flowing down his face, dripping onto the bloody tiles.

"What happened to my son." His voice was showing signs of mental trauma and grief, but what threw Kodak off the most was the fact that Satsujin was emanating this threatening aura towards Ashiro, his son.

"Why son, why did you do this."

Ashiro's face was suddenly pulled out from the darkness, Kodak was the first to see it and hugged his friend tightly.

"It's your fucking fault!" Satsujin shouted, his tone was abusive and rageful. "Why did you kill your brother, you know how dangerous those animatronics are!!!"

Ashiro's face went pale and he looked at the lifeless body of his once cheery brother he held in his arms. "I.... don't know, but this isn't my fault! I know it has to be something else!!!"

Satsujin yelled back at Ashiro with even more anger. "IT IS YOUR FAULT. IT IS YOUR OWN DOING!"

Kodak released his hug on his friend and walked up to Satsujin. "DON'T YOU DARE BLAME THIS ON HIM!!!"

Satsujin's hand clenched tightly and grabbed Kodak by his jacket, getting in his face and being aggressive. "THEN WHO'S FAULT IS IT KAWANARI!!!"

"I DON'T KNOW, SATSUJIN!!!" His voice yelled back at him, showing that he wasn't the only one angry about this accident.

"I DON'T KNOW WHO'S AT FAULT, BUT TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS. IF YOU BLAME YOUR FLESH AND BLOOD. YOU WILL SOLELY BE BLAMING YOURSELF FOR ETERNITY!"

Kodak shoved Satsujin back and walked back over to Ashiro. Anger filled Satsujin's mind as he looked at the others comforting his son and not him.

"You're all at fault, it's your fault." He muttered under his breath, cursing at the group around Ashiro. Akari turned around. "What?"

"IT'S ALL YOU'RE FAULT!!!!"

[Killing Intent detected!]

Kodak, Fumiko, and Ashiro look back at Satsujin, his revenant aura surrounded the building as he walked slowly yet menacingly towards the group.

"YOUR FAULT!!!"

Satsujin rushed forward, trying to grab Ashiro by the throat. Fumiko intervenes, conjuring up blades made of revenant.

[Skill: Blades Of Revenant Activated!]
