Chapter 156 - Ch 156 : Trap and Judgment

Amid the rain, two shadows moved like ghosts, their momentum like wind and thunder.

Their figures intertwined, faster than the falling raindrops.

Each collision sent countless droplets flying, and their chakra created a vacuum around them, pushing away the surrounding rainwater.

Senju Tobirama was unable to hide his astonishment.

He realized that the young man before him was moving at a speed that was no less impressive than his own.

How could such a young man from the village become a rebel?

"What is your name?"

After a brief retreat, Tobirama couldn't help but ask Minato.

"Namikaze Minato."

"The chakra ball technique you used earlier… it was based on the Tailed Beast Bomb, wasn't it?"

"Yes."

Minato also confirmed that the white-haired man before him was indeed the Second Hokage.

There was no one else in the world besides him who could use the Flying Thunder God Technique so expertly.

"Lord Second Hokage, I am not a rebel," Minato couldn't help but defend himself.

Tobirama remained expressionless, his gaze turning toward Hokage Rock.

"To be against the Hokage... how can that not be considered rebellion?"

With that, he suddenly formed hand seals, and the heavy rain around them abruptly stopped in midair.

It quickly gathered into a rushing flow of water, shaping itself into a massive water dragon several meters in size, charging toward Minato!

The water dragon moved with overwhelming speed, and with the rainstorm around them, it was impossible to confront it head-on.

Minato had no choice but to dodge and flee.

Watching from the side, Orochimaru glanced at Hashirama and said, "Aren't you going to intervene?"

Hashirama replied, "Tobirama can handle it on his own."

Orochimaru asked, "Aren't you worried that he might not be able to win?"

Hashirama burst into laughter, "If he can't win, then he can't. This isn't a battle that belongs to us. Fourth Hokage, it's you who should be protecting the village, not us."

His answer was very carefree, and he seemed indifferent to everything in the present world.

Orochimaru was somewhat puzzled by his thought process.

He asked, "You don't care even if the enemy threatens Konoha?"

Hashirama chuckled lightly, "No, this young man won't do that."

Orochimaru slowly narrowed his eyes, "Why do you think so?"

Hashirama replied slowly, "The moment I saw him, I could tell. There is no such thing in his eyes, and his chakra is very bright and warm."

Then, he gave Orochimaru a deep look, "But you, Fourth Hokage, your chakra feels very uncomfortable to me."

Silence.

Orochimaru calmly looked toward the direction of the battle between Tobirama and Minato and slowly said, "I see, it seems I miscalculated."

The sacrifice for the Impure World Reincarnation was White Zetsu, and this was already a highly refined version of the technique.

But Orochimaru faintly realized that the First Hokage wasn't someone he could easily control.

Initially, he believed that his identity as a Hokage would make the two of them unconditionally help him.

Perhaps it's true what they say about the "God of Shinobi..."

Boom!

A massive wave surged, rushing through the streets and flooding countless houses.

Minato stood atop the turbulent water surface, evading the water dragon that kept chasing him.

Meanwhile, Tobirama, within the water, moved even faster.

While skillfully controlling the water dragon, he suddenly flashed behind Minato, his hand shaped like a blade, surrounded by rushing water, and struck down at Minato's neck.

Swish!

However, this lightning-fast strike still missed.

Tobirama's water blade struck only a shadow.

In the line of sight, a kunai was seen falling, as if it had been dropped carelessly.

Compared to their speed, the kunai's fall was incredibly slow.

As the creator of the Flying Thunder God technique, Tobirama was very familiar with this move.

He quickly changed hand signs, and the water beneath him began spinning rapidly.

A massive circular water wall shot up, surrounding him entirely.

Minato, holding a Rasengan, tried to approach, but was immediately blocked by the water wall.

The Rasengan struck the water wall, splashing water, but it couldn't break through.

Inside the water wall, Tobirama quickly changed hand signs again.

The surrounding water flowed wildly, erecting two towering walls that closed in on their position.

This ninjutsu, with no room for escape, was once again countered by Minato using the Flying Thunder God to escape safely.

Tobirama couldn't help but furrow his brows, thinking to himself that dealing with the Flying Thunder God, a technique he had created, was indeed troublesome.

After retreating to a safe position, Minato let out a long sigh of relief.

The Flying Thunder God, which he relied on, seemed ineffective in this situation.

Successfully launching a surprise attack was practically impossible, as Tobirama was too familiar with both the technique's usage and timing.

Just the Second Hokage was already so powerful.

At this rate, it seemed like losing was only a matter of time.

No matter how confident Minato was, he knew he couldn't face three Hokage at once.

His mind raced, trying to come up with a way to break the deadlock.

The First and Second Hokage, both deceased, had been summoned by Orochimaru using some unknown method.

However, they still had independent consciousness; otherwise, the First Hokage wouldn't have been standing by without intervening.

"Kid, who is your teacher? Who taught you the Flying Thunder God technique?" Tobirama asked Minato.

"My master is Jiraiya, the disciple of the Third Hokage," Minato replied.

Upon hearing this, Tobirama showed a surprised expression.

If that's the case, then this person had a direct connection to himself.

He couldn't help but glance at Orochimaru in the distance, his eyes flickering with thought.

The water gradually calmed down, and Tobirama stood on the water's surface, asking, "You say you're not a traitor? Why then are you opposing the Hokage?"

Minato countered, asking, "Second Hokage, is what the Hokage does always right?"

At that moment, Hashirama turned to Orochimaru and asked, "Fourth Hokage, can you tell me what's happening in the village right now? Who is the person fighting the Monkey... the Third Hokage?"

Orochimaru replied, "It's the Fourth Raikage. He was a prisoner from our village, kept in a high-security prison. He suddenly escaped and released all the other prisoners, sparking a riot."

"Raikage..." Hashirama murmured.

Suddenly, his expression shifted, and in an instant, he appeared beside Orochimaru and blocked an attack coming from behind.

Orochimaru's expression remained unchanged, but he glanced back at the attacker, his cold eyes flashing with interest.

Tsunade, who hadn't expected anyone to withstand her strike, was momentarily stunned.

The familiar face in front of her made her hesitate, and for a second, she thought her eyes were deceiving her.

"Grandfather..." she instinctively called out.

Hashirama was also taken aback, looking at the mature and beautiful woman before him.

"You are... Tsunade?"

Tsunade had grown so much; it must have been at least thirty years since I died.

In an instant, Hashirama calculated the time.

Thirty years...

Tsunade furrowed her brows, looking at Orochimaru and questioning, "Orochimaru, what is this mess you're causing?!"

At this moment, both Tobirama and Minato also noticed the scene.

Seeing Tsunade arrive, Minato couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.

"Tobirama, this is Tsunade!" Hashirama said with great joy, waving at Tobirama.

Tsunade looked at the white-haired man from a distance, puzzled.

How could she forget these two? Just recently, she had destroyed their statues.

The tense atmosphere, which had been so charged before, softened considerably, mainly due to the presence of the First Hokage.

Once Tobirama learned that Minato was directly related to Sarutobi, his killing intent had already faded.

Upon hearing the call, he instantly appeared beside them.

"Tsunade... has grown so much," Tobirama said, a hint of relief in his eyes as he looked at her.

"Gr... Grandfather?" Tsunade muttered, feeling overwhelmed.

"Don't be surprised. We're all still dead, just summoned back to the living by the Fourth Hokage using a special forbidden jutsu," Tobirama explained, noticing her confusion.

"It's a technique I created," he added at the end.

Tsunade took a moment to process this sudden information, but then something more pressing crossed her mind.

She suddenly grabbed Orochimaru by the collar.

"Orochimaru, do you know what danger the village is facing right now?!"

Orochimaru smirked, a mocking look on his face. "Of course I know. I'm currently eliminating the threat to the village."

It seemed like the Fourth Hokage and Tsunade were around the same age...

And with Minato's mention of Jiraiya earlier, they must all be disciples of the Hokage, Hiruzen, right?

Hashirama and Tobirama exchanged glances, their minds racing with thoughts.

Tsunade's expression darkened. "What did you say?!"

Orochimaru replied, "The Fourth Raikage was sealed with multiple jutsu, and only Minato can break the seal. Now that he's escaped from the prison, who else could have done it?"

Tsunade was momentarily speechless.

The Minato she remembered would never do such a thing, but now she realized that many people she had once thought she understood were not what she had imagined.

Orochimaru was like this, the Third Hokage was like this, and what about Minato?

Tsunade turned to Minato. "Minato, is this true?"

Minato naturally denied it. "No, I don't know how the Raikage managed to escape. At the time, I was with the Third Hokage... and Shikaku."

Tobirama quietly observed everything, having already realized that this whole conflict was nothing more than a power struggle.

The fact that this situation had drawn him and his older brother into it made Tobirama feel a growing sense of anger.

At that moment, Hashirama suddenly burst out laughing, his hearty laughter leaving everyone puzzled.

He said, "It seems like the younger generation has lost their way."

The rain gradually lightened, with a hint of sunshine breaking through.

Tsunade slowly released Orochimaru's collar.

Tobirama then glanced into the distance, speaking calmly, "The battle over there has ended."

He was referring to the Third Hokage's fight.

Hashirama smiled warmly as he looked at everyone present.

"Since that's the case, let Tobirama and I be the mediators."

"Who is guilty, who is innocent."

"For the sake of the village, I hope you all cooperate."

After saying that, he turned to ask Orochimaru for his opinion.

"Is that acceptable, Fourth Hokage?"

Hashirama had already included him among those to be judged, yet he still asked for his opinion—such contradictory words.

However, a subtle, enigmatic smile appeared on Orochimaru's face. "Of course, that's fine. But..."

He paused for a moment. "Since it's a tribunal, the more witnesses the better, wouldn't you agree? Just the few of us here would be far too dull."

Tobirama frowned slightly, sensing that something was off.

If the Fourth Hokage truly intended to kill Minato earlier, why hadn't he acted from the start?

Could it be that he had already predicted things would develop this way and deliberately orchestrated it to reach this point?
