Chapter 133 - Ch 133 : Kushina's Request

Makoto didn't expect Minato to come to him over a matter of marriage.

This also made him realize that Orochimaru must have already rejected the request.

Feigning confusion, Makoto asked, "Shouldn't you be consulting the Hokage about this, Minato-senpai?"

Minato sighed, "I already did. The Hokage said that a Jinchuriki's physique isn't suitable for childbirth."

He added earnestly, "But I can guarantee that Kushina's seal won't have any issues. The sealing techniques of the Uzumaki clan are absolutely reliable!"

Makoto secretly sneered. If they were that reliable, how did Obito manage to succeed in the original story? Could Obito's sealing techniques be superior to yours?

Minato continued sincerely, "Didn't you previously consult Kushina about sealing techniques, Makoto-kun? You should have some understanding of the matter. I hope you can help by explaining this thoroughly to the Hokage."

Minato's tone was incredibly earnest, and he bowed his head respectfully before Makoto.

However, this only reminded Makoto of the time when he had just crossed into this world, feeling lost and hoping for protection from the legendary Yellow Flash.

At that time, Minato had no reason to help him, and Makoto couldn't hold that against him.

But now, Makoto had no reason to help Minato either.

What, was he supposed to go against his direct superior for him?

Makoto showed a troubled expression. "Didn't Minato-senpai already explain things clearly to the Hokage?"

Seeing his expression, Minato sighed inwardly.

"I did, but I hope Makoto-kun can explain it to the Hokage again... for Kushina's sake."

Makoto immediately put on a displeased face.

"What do you mean by that, Minato-senpai? Of course, I'll help with whatever I can! There's no need to say something so distant."

"But I can't make any promises. I'll do my best to persuade the Hokage. Kushina and Ayari are good friends, and she's also a friend of mine. I sincerely hope you and Kushina can be together as you wish."

Minato immediately said, "Thank you for your help, Makoto-kun."

Makoto smiled. "You're too polite, Minato-senpai. But any decision made by the Hokage must be in the best interest of the village. We subordinates should try to understand and respect his judgment."

Minato hesitated for a moment and then said, "…You're right, Makoto-kun."

After leaving the Hyuga Clan grounds, Minato felt a deep sense of frustration.

The feeling of begging someone for help was truly unpleasant, and even after humbling himself, he had received no real promise.

He looked up at the distant Hokage Rock, his gaze lingering on Orochimaru's face for a long time.

Have I been too arrogant all this time, alienating everyone around me?

Minato stood there silently for a while before quietly leaving without a word.

On Makoto's side, after Minato left, he immediately informed Ayari about his visit.

Ayari was visibly anxious upon hearing the news. "Makoto, you have to help them!"

She was genuinely concerned for Kushina.

Kushina and Minato were deeply in love, and everyone in the village knew they were a devoted couple.

If they couldn't get married, it would be too pitiful.

Makoto sighed helplessly. "Didn't I say it already? The rejection was the Hokage's decision. Only the Hokage can change his mind. Are you asking me to go against him?"

Ayari pursed her lips, thinking for a moment, and then asked, "Isn't there anything you can do to help them?"

Makoto replied, "The only thing I can do is plead with the Hokage again on their behalf, but if he doesn't agree, there's nothing I can do."

Ayari murmured, "We can't just let Kushina live a lonely life forever, can we?"

Makoto said nonchalantly, "Well, that's what happens when you're a Jinchuriki."

Ayari's face was filled with concern. "Kushina is just too pitiful. Isn't there any other way?"

Makoto casually replied, "Unless she stops being..."

He paused mid-sentence, suddenly stunned by his own words.

Kyuubi power was immense—the strongest of all the Tailed Beasts, with chakra closest to Juubi.

If it stayed sealed inside Kushina's body without being fully utilized, it did seem like a waste.

Expecting Kushina to tame Kyuubi through sheer empathy was likely unrealistic.

But even if Kushina and Minato had Naruto, Naruto wouldn't become Makoto Jinchuriki as he did in the original story.

However, without a Tailed Beast, a Jinchuriki would die.

"Makoto?" Ayari's gentle call brought him back to his senses.

"Did you come up with a solution?" Ayari asked expectantly.

Makoto shook his head.

He walked closer to Ayari, crouching down slightly, and gently placed his hand on her belly.

"What do you think... would be a good gift for our child when they're born?"

Ayari chuckled. "Why are you suddenly talking about this?"

"Since I'm going to be his father, I naturally have to give him the best I can," Makoto said slowly.

He could provide the perfect Sage Seal, giving the child an unmatched starting point, along with the best educational resources and environment for growth...

But Ayari shook her head gently and lovingly. "That's not necessary. You just need to be a good father."

"..."

Looking at Makoto resting his face against her belly, Ayari softly said, "Our child doesn't have to be exceptionally talented or special. As long as they can grow up healthy and happy, that's enough."

Makoto chuckled softly. "You're right."

As expected, the next day, Kushina learned from Ayari about the Hokage's refusal to let her marry Minato.

She went directly to the Hokage's office to confront him.

Kushina had hardly ever been there before, so she was surprised when she saw Samui, the secretary nearby.

She thought to herself, Isn't that one of the three female Kumo ninja captives?

Samui's striking appearance was unforgettable to anyone who had seen her even once.

This instantly made Kushina feel that Makoto was not entirely trustworthy, suspecting he might do something to let Ayari down.

She even began to think that when Makoto had previously sought her out to learn sealing techniques, he must have had some indecent thoughts.

Her gaze toward Makoto turned hostile.

"Why are you here?" Makoto asked Kushina.

Only then did Kushina remember the real reason she was there.

Just moments ago, she had been thinking about questioning Makoto on Ayari's behalf about the situation with that secretary.

"It's about my marriage to Minato."

Makoto sighed. "That's not up to me. All I can do is speak to the Hokage on your behalf."

"Really?" Kushina asked suspiciously.

Makoto replied irritably, "What else would I be doing? Ayari also hopes you two can get married. Do you think I don't? Or that stopping your marriage would benefit me somehow?"

Kushina realized she was the one asking for a favor and shouldn't be acting this way.

After hesitating for a moment, she solemnly said, "Makoto, if you can help us, I will always remember your kindness."

"What would I want your gratitude for? How would you repay me?" Makoto asked.

Kushina thought for a moment. "I could be your child's godmother."

Makoto was speechless. "...That's just something you want for yourself, isn't it?"

Kushina laughed awkwardly. "I don't have much to offer, just some of the Uzumaki clan's sealing techniques, but they aren't anything rare."

Makoto found it amusing and calmly studied Kushina, feeling a bit of heat in his heart. Repayment, huh...

Kushina instinctively sensed danger.

She crossed her arms protectively over her chest and glared at him warily. "What are you thinking?"

Makoto remained calm. "What could I be thinking? If there's nothing else, you should head back. I'll handle what I promised."

Kushina frowned and stared at Makoto.

That look in his eyes just now... he definitely had some inappropriate thoughts!
