Chapter 24 - A Quick Confrontation

Draven smiled, stretching. "I'm gonna end this quick," he said.

Hannah, her voice still as calm as always, said, "Even if you know how it works, that changes—" But before she could finish speaking, Draven suddenly disappeared. Hannah's eyes widened, and she moved them, trying to locate him.

Draven reappeared beside her, his eyes glowing, still holding his bow in his right hand. He swung a blow with his left. Hannah, shocked to see him beside her, thought, He's fast, but I can still defend. His fist quickly approached her face, but she deflected it with wind magic, causing it to miss.

Draven didn't stop. He quickly turned around, swinging his right leg for a kick. Hannah was shocked to see his leg moving towards her face. She quickly tried to block it by putting up a magic barrier, but the force of Draven's kick broke the barrier. Hannah, shocked to see her barrier broken, thought, That's not even possible. How can someone without Mana break a Mana barrier?

Draven's leg suddenly stopped before hitting her face, the wind blowing her hair. He slowly brought his leg down, standing right in front of Hannah. He looked at her, also looking at him with a smile, and said, "Hey kid, I guess I won, right?"

Hannah, with still no emotion on her face, said, her voice still as calm as always, "I'm not a kid."

Draven said, "Wow, kid, you sure took your loss pretty well. I thought you would get angry and attack me."

Hannah, in the same calm voice, said, "I'm not some kind of kid that can't accept a loss, and stop calling me a kid."

Draven said, "Yeah, you still haven't told me how old you are."

Hannah looked at Draven without saying anything.

Draven said, "If you don't tell me, I'm going to keep calling you a kid."

Hannah said, "I'm going to be turning twenty soon."

Draven looked at her, inwardly thinking, She's twenty? I guess it's not that surprising. But she's older than me. I guess she doesn't have to know that. Outwardly, he said, "Too bad, I'm still older. I have already—" He was cut off by Hannah saying, in a calm voice, "You just turned sixteen."

Draven, hearing that, started sweating nervously, thinking, Damn, she already knows. I have to get out of this. Still sweating, he smiled and said, "Hey, we should probably head back. Our moms are most likely looking for us."
