There was a flash of red and a wolf appeared by Theron's side. With a step, Theron was already on its back, shooting off into the distance.
He knew that since the Alpha was here, it also meant that Elder Black wasn't very far away from breaking free. This was the real reason the Alpha hadn't been by his side all the while—he was Theron's timer of sorts.

But considering they hadn't appeared while Theron was there, it probably meant that they wouldn't.
