The spell detonated in his face, the recoil sending the Magus skidding backward, smoke rising from his arms. But he didn't fall. His wings snapped open, lightning crackling across their span.
Vek'tal dropped from above.

He crashed into the Magus like a meteor, fists wreathed in Soul fire, the heat alone warping the air.
Fist met barrier. The flames surged and shattered it.
The impact launched the Magus backward, into a pillar of stone.
CRUNCH!
But even pinned, he fought. His body arced with mana.
A surge of gravity erupted, sending the three flying again. Ben rolled mid-air, stabbing his pickaxe into the wall to slow his fall.
Draeven flipped through the air, landing hard, purple flames cushioning the impact.
Vek'tal slammed into the dirt, cracking it beneath him, but rose with a growl. His obisdion skin were cracked now, as his burn his soul to enhance his strength.
