"Happy birthday," Dominick greeted, extending his hand.
"Thanks," Lenon shook his hand.
Dominick looked around, "Truly, because you guys celebrate your birthdays every five years in such a grand manner, so many people always come."
Lenon laughed, "Why not do the same? This is a good way of looking for more prospective business partners.""Including them?" Dominick gestured towards Rudolf Frostmoor, the current CEO of Frostmoor Ventures and the father of Seraphina.
He had arrived with his son, a bit later than Leonora and her two daughters.
Lenon smiled, "Including them."
Dominick shook his head, "And them?"
He gestured towards Charlie Morgrave and his father Jonathan Morgrave, the CEO of Morgrave Dynamics.
"Yes," Lenon laughed.
Even though their relationship isn't particularly good, business is business.
"Well, the ones they are talking to are our fathers, even though you are already the CEO," Dominick spoke.
"I am the celebrant. They can't take all my attention," Lenon laughed.
Tiffany shook her head.
"It seems that Minerva has become closer to Madam Frostmoor."
Tiffany looked at Sabrina, who spoke near her.
Tiffany turned to where she was looking and found Minerva conversing with Leonora.
"It is her choice who to get close to," Tiffany shrugged.
"Well, she needs connection since she sees you as her enemy, and us being friends means she needed someone of high standing to feel that she is on the same level as you," Sabrina shook her head.
Tiffany giggled, "Geez, stop that. Someone might hear, and those reporters would once again celebrate for a good scoop. The issue between us was already a few decades ago."
Sabrina simply smiled, causing Tiffany to shake her head.
"But I'm glad that Emina has come," Sabrina said.
They looked towards another side, where people who wanted to connect with Ashcroft Nexus spoke with Emina.
"It is her father's birthday," Tiffany said with a sad smile.
Sabrina could only hold Tiffany's hand. How painful it must be for a parent to experience what she did.
"How's Aether anyway?" Tiffany asked this time.
"She's busy with finishing her course. I wonder why she was adamant about studying Computer Science. She even took the course abroad," Sabrina chuckled.
Though they never had any problems with their children, that is why they did not stop her from wanting to take whatever she wants and wherever she wants.
"Our children are seriously growing up so fast," Tiffany couldn't help but lament.
On the other hand.
"How is residency?" Shawn approached Dylan.
Dylan looked at him, "Fine, I suppose."
"Then how about my friend?" he asked.
Dylan laughed, "Don't worry. Emina is not complaining because the one she assigned received all compliments towards your friend."
Shawn sighed in relief.
"You still did not greet her after all this time?" Dylan chuckled.
"But Sister Emina is seriously scar—"
"Have I bitten you?"
Shawn whipped around when he heard her voice.
"S-Sister Emina," he smiled.
"You… You look beautiful as always."
Emina rolled her eyes.
"Anyway, you brought a good seedling. I'll commend you for that. I suppose you can judge well despite that overly kind character of yours."
Shawn almost pouted before glancing at Dylan. Dylan shook his head. He wouldn't say otherwise.
"But… I am also trying to change now. I belatedly realized how much I caused trouble to my friends," he admitted.
"That's good. Keep that up. I should thank the person who made you realize that," Emina replied.
"How did you know? I could have changed because I realized it on my own."
"Please, if you could do that, you would have changed long ago."
"Brother!" Shawn complained to Dylan.
"I stand by my sister's words," Dylan placed a hand on Shawn's shoulder.
"!!!" Shawn was lost for words.
Emina's face softened, "Keep that up. I'll go and greet the others."
Shawn weakly waved her goodbye.
"Anyway, you look like something good has happened," Dylan then said, noticing that Shawn's mood seemed to be really good.
Shawn's eyes widened a bit before he chuckled, "Yeah, I guess. Something like that."
"What is it?" he asked curiously.
"I guess, because I am getting close to befriending the one person I wished to befriend for a good while now."
"The great Shawn Blaze Lockhart, who always attracts others because of his kindness, is actually struggling to befriend someone?" Dylan chuckled.
"It is precisely because of that kindness that it pushed that person away," Shawn grumbled.
"So it is that person who changed your perspective."
Shawn nodded, "But someone else also affected my decision."
He glanced at the place where Wynter was being surrounded by people and was stunned to see that she was looking his way.
He looked around him but couldn't find someone else who she could be looking at.
He looked back at her and tilted his head when she was no longer looking his way.
'What was that about?'
"What's wrong?" Dylan looked towards where he was looking.
"Nothing," he replied.
"Anyway, there are a few things I want to ask."
Dylan chuckled helplessly, "You do know we are at a celebration, right?"
"But you are too busy," Shawn couldn't help but say.
"Fine. Though have you not asked your father?"
"Not all curriculums are the same as back in their time," Shawn replied.
"I see. Let's go on the side so that I can answer you properly."
Wynter watched as the two of them moved to the side.
"Is there someone you wish to talk to?" one of those talking to her asked.
Wynter shook her head, "I'm just looking at the people."
"Anyway, congratulations on defeating the grandson of August Murphy."
"You really are amazing. Defeating someone with the bloodline of a musician."
Wynter simply smiled.
She continued chatting with who knows how many of them who wished to either congratulate her or just strike up a conversation to get close to her.
