Chapter 257 - "Lowly Maggot!" "How Dare You?!"

A colossal dragon stretched across ARC City, delivering a second wave of shock to everyone watching the livestream.

Although this [false dragon] didn't possess a particularly elegant appearance, its sheer size was enough to astound everyone.

"What did you say?" [Vakh], standing atop the [false dragon]'s head, looked up at the drone flying in the sky with disinterest, then lowered his gaze to Shu, looking down at him.

Shu didn't speak, silently channeling the [Hope] within his body.

Otto had already prepared the [Wish] needed for this battle, allowing Shu to maximize the use of [Hope].

"I believe we can talk." Unlike Shu, who was poised for battle, [Vakh] appeared relaxed and carefree.

At first glance, [Vakh] resembled a high-level cultivator in a fantasy novel, riding a luxurious mount to visit a friend.

"I don't think there's any irreconcilable conflict between us…" [Vakh] said with a smile, simultaneously taking a slow step forward.

The glow of Shu's sword intensified. He maintained a cold expression, staring at the person who looked exactly like [Vakh].

"It seems there's been a misunderstanding…" [Vakh] saw Shu's intentions and sighed.

By now, the [false dragon]'s head was level with the edge of the building. [Vakh] took a step, moving from the dragon's head to the other side of the building. The two stood facing each other at the edge of the rooftop.

"The one you hated is dead, dead because of his carelessness." [Vakh] waved his hand, still not giving up on talking to Shu. "Your revenge should be fulfilled…"

The previous [Vakh] was dead, but he had completely inherited all of [Vakh]'s memories. He had his thoughts, a similar physical composition, a similar way of thinking…

But he knew he wasn't that person, just as that person wasn't Vakh.

So he wanted to talk to Shu, but only to Shu.

As for the others? Hmph… If it was a condition set by Shu, he could reluctantly refrain from harming them.

As [Vakh] spoke, his gaze remained fixed on the sword in Shu's hand.

He was wary of that purple bullet.

"There's nothing to talk about, Herrscher." The glow of the Xuanyuan Sword finally reached its peak. Shu's eyes flickered, and he spoke for the first time.

[Vakh]'s expression froze. He lowered his hands and looked at Shu with icy eyes.

"You've given up your last chance… the chance to ascend to godhood with me…"

"No." Shu slightly raised the already-prepared sword, aiming it at [Vakh]. "You were never worthy of mentioning 'ascension'."

[Vakh] took a half-step back, assuming a defensive stance.

"You're just a…" Shu's eyes instantly turned fierce. He swung his sword arm, redirecting the blade towards the [false dragon] hovering nearby.

"Lowly maggot!"

[Vakh]'s expression twisted. Simultaneously, Shu released his grip, but the Xuanyuan Sword, now glowing brightly, floated in the air. The next instant, this golden light shot out, cleanly piercing through the [false dragon]'s head.

"YOU are the lowly maggot!!" Amidst the dragon's gushing blood, the veins on [Vakh]'s neck bulged. He roared at Shu, his face contorted with fury.

He paid no heed to the [false dragon] that Shu had cleaved in two, instead raising his hand towards Shu with furious rage.

How dare he… how dare he!!

Dare to call him, the supreme being, the most perfect creature, a lowly maggot!!

The Xuanyuan Sword didn't return. Shu's expression turned slightly grave. He instinctively looked at his arm.

The instant [Vakh] raised his hand, Shu's left arm underwent a bizarre spasm. Although Shu suppressed it instantly, the momentary change drained some color from his face.

But…

This is what I was waiting for!!

Regaining control of his left hand, in that instant, Shu grasped at the air and took a large step back, his foot landing heavily on the ground.

[Vakh]'s furious expression changed, becoming one of disbelief.

Shu, opposite him, was now in a tug-of-war stance. Although his hands were empty, [Vakh] felt that Shu was indeed gripping something!

Before [Vakh] could figure out what it was, Shu yanked the invisible "rope."

[Vakh] was pulled forward by Shu's immense strength, unable to resist. By the time he began to struggle, Shu's right hand had already reached out, seizing [Vakh]'s throat.

Lifting him, Shu slammed him down onto the ground!!

"BOOM—!!"

Even the drone flying in the sky trembled. [Vakh] was slammed straight down into the top floor of the building by Shu.

The entire building shook. The next moment, the top few floors of the building fractured from the rest.

The building was broken by Shu's single blow!

"What the?!"

"F**k!!"

"Holy Homu!!"

The moment the building cracked and collapsed, local exclamations of shock erupted across the globe.

They thought that [false dragon] was the most incomprehensible thing in the world, but the young man had proven to be even more powerful?!

What kind of magical place was Fire Moth?!

The audience saw the most shocking exterior view, while [Vakh], amidst the shattered rubble, raised his hand with a sinister grin, grabbing Shu's arm.

"You walked right into this!!" [Vakh] let out a wild laugh. Even if Shu had been prepared because of his previous hand gesture, he couldn't have known that it was less than ten percent of his full power!!

The true, complete technique was direct contact!! With direct contact, Shu would never be able to react in time!!

He had been worrying about how to get close to Shu!!

However, in the next instant, amidst the falling debris, [Vakh]'s expression changed drastically.

How is this possible?! He defended against it?!

It was a targeted preemptive defense! It precisely matched his power output!!

How could he have possibly reacted in time?!

How could he have known beforehand?!

As [Vakh]'s face contorted in disbelief and momentary shock, Shu didn't stand idly by.
