Isadora had a mix of emotions storming through her. She was mad at him. Worried she hadn't seen her friend. Uncomfortable because of the way this place made her feel.
She channeled them all and said. "I'm not in the mood to talk with you." She turned away.
Kraven grasped her chin. "Don't look away from me," he said through clenched teeth. "I want us to talk."
"We've been talking the same way you insulted me."
"I never thought of you as a child, love. Never."
"Then why did you make the decision yourself?"
His jaw tightened more until it felt like his teeth would turn to dust. "I always make my decisions. I take control."
"But you yield to me," she pressed.
"Yes... I do."
"I'm starting to think you do not."
He narrowed his eyes.
"I would've taken the tonic anyway," she said softly.
"You cheated!"
