"Are you saying that this Luo Fan is Su Xiaowan's college mate?"
In the study, Li Yun was looking at the data A Xiang had gathered and asked with some confusion.
"Yes, according to our investigation, there are thirty people named Luo Fan in Jinling city, but only he has any connection with Miss Su Xiaowan," A Xiang replied respectfully.
"Luo Fan..."
Li Yun murmured the name several times while reviewing Luo Fan's data.
In the documents, there was nothing unusual, everything seemed quite ordinary with no obvious problems.
"By the way, where is this guy now?"
"According to the information we have, he works in a coffin shop. However, a few days ago, he had a conflict with his boss and hasn't returned to work since then."
"However, a few days ago, the shop owner received a call from Luo Fan. In that call, Luo Fan said something like: 'Things are no longer the same,' and that he would make him account for everything he had done to him. He even suggested that he prepare his own coffin."
Apparently, after suffering injustices and leaving the coffin shop, he had some kind of encounter and now sought revenge on the owner, unloading all his resentment.
Somehow, this attitude seemed to match the profile of a protagonist.
"In these data, it mentions that he has parents and a younger sister. Where are they now?"
"His mother is in the countryside, and his sister, they say, works somewhere in Jinling city, but we haven't located her yet."
A Xiang felt a bit embarrassed. Although he thought this person might be the one Li Yun was looking for, the information he had gathered on Luo Fan was not complete enough, and he had almost no answers to the questions they were asking.
"Alright, do two things for me. First, find Luo Fan's sister. Second, locate Luo Fan's whereabouts. Send someone to monitor the coffin shop; there might be unexpected clues."
After giving these instructions to A Xiang, Li Yun only wanted to find out if Luo Fan was really the protagonist he was searching for. If not, it would all be in vain.
Since Su Xiaowan seemed to be a key character in Luo Fan's story, Li Yun decided he would have to focus on her to gather more clues.
In a rather ordinary lottery center, Luo Fan walked excitedly forward, as if going to collect money.
The center was large, and since it was Sunday, there were quite a few people.
Upon entering, Luo Fan saw several people with pencils, scratching lottery tickets.
To the side, someone was studying the winning lottery numbers, hoping to get rich overnight.
Luo Fan didn't pay attention to them and went directly to a computer, where a young woman in her twenties was attending him.
"Sir, what would you like to buy? We have double-color tickets, scratch-offs, we have everything," said the girl in a sweet voice.
Luo Fan, however, responded indifferently: "I want scratch-offs."
"Sir, look, we have three types: five yuan, ten yuan, and twenty yuan. Which one would you like?" The girl pointed to the options on the wall.
"I want all three types. Take some of each, and I will choose a few sheets."
The girl nodded, took out three stacks of tickets, and said, "Here are the three stacks. You can choose carefully, but you will need to pay before using them."
Looking at the tickets in front of him, Luo Fan saw them as piles of gold.
However, soon his enthusiasm faded.
This one has no prize!
This one neither!
And this one less!
Oh, this one has ten yuan!
Empty!
This one is better, it has one hundred yuan!
After ten minutes, Luo Fan had scratched all the tickets.
Out of about one hundred tickets, only seven or eight had prizes, most of them were ten or twenty yuan. Only one had one hundred yuan, and another had five hundred yuan, slightly bigger prizes.
He paid one hundred yuan for ten tickets, and in the end, he won around six hundred yuan in total.
For an ordinary person, it would be something incredible, but for Luo Fan, it was nothing.
With his special vision ability, winning a few hundred yuan didn't impress him. In recent days, he had sold gold ingots and accumulated nearly a million yuan.
"I'd better think about how to sell the remaining gold ingots," murmured Luo Fan.
He wasn't in a hurry, as he still had dozens of gold ingots. Selling them all, he could get several million yuan.
That night, to gather more information about Luo Fan, Li Yun went to visit Su Xiaowan's new house.
"Director Li, I'm sorry. I just bought this house, and I haven't had time to settle in..."
Su Xiaowan felt a bit embarrassed. She had bought the house recently and had only that day moved her mother to live with her.
She had only mentioned to Li Yun, casually, that she had bought a new house, and he insisted on visiting her for dinner.
It all happened so suddenly that she hadn't had time to prepare.
"It's no big deal. How could I worry about that? I just came to see if you're comfortable in your new home," Li Yun responded casually.
That day, he met Su Xiaowan's family: her parents and younger brother.
Su Xiaowan's younger brother, Su Youlong, was a second-year high school student, tall and strong, and the main player on his school's basketball team.
Her mother, Cheng Lanqing, was about fifty years old and had many health problems, with completely gray hair.
Her father, Su Kun, also about fifty years old, had been paralyzed for eight or nine years.
Without this pillar, her mother had to care for him while supporting her two children in school.
If it hadn't been for Li Yun's support at the time, the family wouldn't have been able to survive.
Fortunately, things had improved. Now that Su Xiaowan worked, she sent money home every month to help support her family.
"Well, Xiaowan, stay here with your boss while I go buy some food."
"Youlong, come with me."
"Mom, you're just going to buy food. Do I really need to go with you?"
Su Youlong seemed a little reluctant.
A grown man, accompanying his mother to do shopping?
"I told you to come, so come. Stop complaining!"
Su Xiaowan's mother grabbed Su Youlong by the arm and took him with her.
"Your brother seems to have a strong personality," Li Yun commented with a smile as he saw Su Youlong being dragged by his mother.
"Strong? What are you talking about? He's a mess. He's always causing trouble and never helps at home," Su Xiaowan replied resignedly.
To her, her brother was like a child who had never matured.
