Chapter 101 - [Written And Directed by Regal Seraphsail & Team]

….

I apologize for the delay upload. I was kinda busy last night with some personal(:and special) events. Anyways, I will be back today evening with another chapter.

.....

As [Death Note] was about to enter into its second week on it's fourth day, most of the reviews were out, and the positive public talk also began to spread wide.

Whoever watched [Death Note], and their reason to recommend others to watch the film it - is its climax twists and revelations.

.…obviously the most satisfying feeling of watching good win over evil.

However, there is something else about the climax that wasn't explored and hidden under, but the few who did definitely understood it as the most important piece.

And that is - the sacrifice made to win.

As L suspected, the deaths being related to the cases of Light's father, Light was imprisoned in a solitary cell - while being under surveillance for 24/7.

The audience thought it was the end, and soon Light would be caught.

However just then, there was a sense Light was having a chat with Rem.

At that they immediately felt an edgy feeling - because from what they had seen - Rem - the Shinigami, another death god. Unlike Ryuk, who only seeks entertainment, Rem is bound by a sense of duty and emotion - emotions a god of death is not supposed to have.

She protects Misa, the female lead who owns a Death Note and serves Kira. Unlike Light, who uses the notebook for his ambitions, Misa is driven by love - love for Light Turner.

However disgustingly and sinisterly enough, Light uses Misa's love towards him to blackmail Rem into writing L's name in Death Note and kill him.

Rem, the Shinigami could tell - Light does not love Misa back.

He only sees her usefulness, and manipulates her accordingly.

And Rem also knows this.

The rules of the Shinigami are simple:

- A god of death exists only to take lives.

- But if a Shinigami uses their powers to save a human, they die.

So now coming back to the present, when seeing L comes dangerously close to exposing Light, Rem had to make a decision.

If Light dies, Misa might commit suicide.

So she made the choice.

Just a few moments before Light's get caught by L only one step away from connecting all the don'ts.

She writes L's name in her Death Note:

"L Lawliet - to die of a heart attack in 40 seconds."

By doing this, she ensures Misa's survival.

And in an instant - Rem turns to dust.

The notebook falls to the ground, free from its owner.

Light, seeing an opportunity, picks it up. But he doesn't realize something:

L was watching.

The Task Force, who were already investigating Misa's notebook, immediately seizes it.

In this moment, L is staring at the very thing that had eluded him - the tool Kira used to kill.

….

By the time the Task Force reaches the location their expressions turn to horror as they watch L slumps forward - his body going limp, his head tilting to the side, his eyes empty.

Light Turner takes a slow step back, concealing his satisfaction behind a mask of shock.

He keeps his breathing steady. Keeps his hands from shaking.

Because this is it.

This is the moment he has won.

L is dead.

James Turner: (urgent) "L?! L!"

Watari rushes to L's side, pressing two fingers against his neck. A tense silence fills the room.

And then—

Watari: (softly) "No pulse."

A stillness falls over the Task Force.

Aizawa clenches his fists. Matsuda swallows back a gasp. James lowers his head in grief.

L - the greatest detective in the world - is dead.

The screen turns black.

Even after three seconds it stayed black.

Audience felt a lump in their throat seeing L die.

For them - L was the only one, only one who could match Light's cunning intellects and catch him.

But now he is dead.

Who was supposed to stop him?

Is this the end of the film? An open ending?

So Light reached his goal?

Many thoughts ran through them, however the most common thought was -

This movie really isn't the story of a hero.

Or so they think.

Light keeps his head lowered, casting a somber expression. He lets his voice waver - just enough to sound believable.

Light: (whispering) "No… it can't be…"

In reality, his heart is racing with triumph.

Light (thinking): 'I did it. I finally did it. L is gone. Kira has won.'

But he can't celebrate - not yet.

He looks up, his face carefully composed.

Light: (shaking his head) "What could've happened? He was fine just moments ago…"

Watari exhales slowly.

Watari: (quietly) "I will handle the arrangements."

He turns to the Task Force, his face unreadable.

Watari: "L's identity must remain a secret. His body will be taken to an undisclosed location. He would have wanted it this way."

The detectives nod solemnly. None of them question it.

Light watches as Watari gently lifts L's frail body and carries him out of the room.

Light doesn't know it yet—

But this is where his downfall begins.

….

As a few weeks have passed since L's death first - Light had become less and less cautious.

His past reckless killings continued.

He didn't wait, nor did he have to be watchful.

As the days pass, the Task Force seems less efficient. They argue more. They second-guess themselves.

And Light realizes - without L, they are lost.

Light (thinking): 'This is it. There's no one left to stand in my way.'

For the first time since the investigation began, he is free.

And in that freedom, Kira becomes bolder.

More criminals begin dying in ways that align too perfectly with Kira's sense of justice.

More patterns begin emerging - patterns L would have noticed immediately.

But now, with no one watching, Light lets his guard down.

Alas… there is no L to catch him - that's what the audience thought.

However just then -

The lights flicker.

A small disturbance.

A static noise fills the monitors.

The Task Force turns, confused.

And then - a voice.

L (over speakers): "Good evening, everyone."

The room freezes.

Light's breath catches.

His heart stops.

That voice.

The audience too recognised it - that unmistakable, slow drawl.

L.

L is alive!!

But how?

….

Immediately, the movie lands on the flashback scene of L's tragic death by Rem.

However, L is lying on the ground - dying.

When the frame pans to his face - the audience could tell it too:

He knows it. L knows he is gonna die.

And yet, even in his final moments, L remains rational.

Watari, ever loyal, rushes to his side.

Watari: (urgent) "L! What's happening?!"

L's vision blurs. His fingers twitch. He can feel it - his heart beginning to fail. But instead of fear, his mind sharpens.

His lips move, forming his final command:

L: (weakly) "The notebook… give it to me."

Watari doesn't hesitate. He grabs the Death Note from Light's hands and places it in L's grasp.

Death Note? Why?

The audience were confused, but still watched with clear hope.

The moment L touches the notebook—

Everything changes.

His mind explodes with visions.

He sees Ryuk.

He sees Rem.

He sees everything.

The hidden rules. The truth.

And suddenly - he understands.

But in that moment, he realizes something:

"What happens when the same name is written twice?"

He remembers something crucial - the rule that was never truly tested.

- Can a person's fate be sealed twice?

- Or does the first entry overwrite all others?

His mind races. His hands tremble. He grabs a pen.

And in his final seconds–

He writes his own name:

"L Lawliet - to die peacefully in his sleep, 23 days from now."

He wanted to write many things… Like L dies only after a second Keria die's.

But that's too vague… and he is also sure that Keria isn't the real name so that might also not work.

But why exactly 23 days? That's something only he knew at that moment.

The ink dries. His breath hitches. His heartbeat falters.

Audience widened their eyes at that, but they too felt - it was worth the shot since L will be dying anyway.

And it worked!

Forty seconds passed.

But - nothing happened.

His vision clears. His breathing stabilizes.

He is still alive.

L (thinking): 'So… I was right.'

The first entry sealed his fate. The second one invalidated the conditions of Rem's sacrifice.

He has survived.

But now, he has 23 days left.

His final mission begins.

And Kira has no idea.

….

As soon as Watari leaves Task Force Headquarters, he makes no stops.

He drives straight to an underground safe house - L's real headquarters.

Inside, he carefully lays L's body down. His hands do not tremble. His breathing does not waver.

Because he already knows the truth.

As soon as he sets L down, the detective's fingers twitch.

A sharp breath.

And then - L's eyes open.

Watari watches, calm and patient, as L slowly sits up.

L: (weakly) "Did it work?"

Watari nods.

Watari: "Everything went according to plan. The Task Force believes you're dead. So does Light Turner."

A slow smile creeps onto L's lips.

L: "Good. That gives us an advantage."

….

L knows he only has 23 days before the Death Note claims his life.

So the next three weeks, not wasting a single second, he was constantly tracing Kiara's footpaths.

For the first time since the investigation began, Light has let his guard down.

Believing L to be dead, Kira will finally move freely. And that is the mistake L has been waiting for.

….

On the 21th day -

L: (softly) "Watari… you know what to do."

Watari nods, already prepared.

He retrieves all the evidence they have collected, including the one thing that will ensure Kira's downfall.

L had always had an inkling that - Light was Kira.

But knowing is not the same as proving. Now, he has something he never had before: physical evidence.

The Death Note that Rem left behind - the one that was confiscated before his death.

It holds everything.

- The rules.

- The previous names written.

- And most importantly - Light Turner's fingerprints.

Now, L just needs to do one last thing.

Catch Light in the act.

And tomorrow, on the right time - L will return from the dead.

….

It is day 22.

L can feel it. The weight in his body. The creeping exhaustion.

Tomorrow, he will die.

So tonight - Light Turner will fall.

….

The scene shifts to present when the task force suddenly hears L's voice through the speaker.

L (over speakers): "Good evening, everyone."

The monitors flicker, and then - L's face appears.

Not the usual hunched, ragged figure they remember.

L (on screen): "If you are watching this… it means you all assumed I am dead. And yet… Kira is still among you."

The Task Force stares, silent.

Light clenches his fists under the table.

Light (thinking): "No… no, no, this isn't possible!"

L (on screen): "From the very beginning, I suspected Kira would try to kill me. So, I prepared for this outcome. Watari… you may proceed."

Watari, who has been standing quietly, moves toward the center of the room.

And then, he places it down.

A black notebook.

The Death Note.

Watari: (calmly) "This was confiscated from Light Turner before L's death. It contains undeniable proof."

Aizawa steps forward, flipping through the pages. His face drains of color.

Aizawa: (reading) "Naomi Misora… Raye Penber… Kiyomi Takada… Higuchi…"

More names. Pages and pages of them.

The handwriting. The fingerprints. The evidence.

Matsuda: (whispering) "This… this is real."

The Task Force begins to stir.

James Turner steps forward, his face pale. His eyes move across the notebook, then slowly - painfully - he turns to his son.

Light knows.

The moment is here.

He is trapped.

But Light Turner does not surrender.

He never has.

He never will.

For a single, tense moment - no one moves.

Light's mind races. He has seconds to act. He still has a page of the Death Note hidden in his watch.

If he can just write one name - just one -

He reaches for it.

His fingers move, subtle, unnoticed.

Almost.

And then—BANG!

A gunshot. A single bullet rips through Light's hand.

He screams.

The hidden page flutters to the ground, stained with blood.

James Turner stands, gun still raised, shaking.

Soichiro: (breathless) "No more, Light. No more."

Silence.

Light clutches his hand, panting. His father's eyes bore into him - not with anger.

But with grief.

And Light knows.

It's over.

A slow clap echoes through the speakers.

L (on screen): "Well, then. That was quite the performance."

Light lifts his head, teeth clenched.

And then, for the first time—he smiles.

Not a confident smile.

A desperate one.

Light: (softly) "I see… I really lost."

And then - he laughs.

A bitter, broken laugh.

Light: "I was so close. If only I had just killed you sooner…"

A pause.

And then - another voice.

One that makes Light's blood run cold.

Ryuk: "Well… that's too bad."

Light's eyes snap to the corner of the room.

The Shinigami, watching with amusement, pulls out his notebook.

Light: "No. Ryuk—"

Ryuk: "I told you, Light. The moment you lost… I would be the one to write your name."

The pen scratches against the page.

And Light Turner's fate is sealed.

The Task Force watches as Light stumbles.

His breaths grow short. His body trembles. He falls to his knees, clutching his chest.

And then - he collapses.

A long silence.

Light Turner - Kira - is dead.

….

The next day followed another crucial moment in the case.

In an empty room, somewhere far away-

L Lawliet exhales his last breath.

His body stills. His lips curl into a soft smile.

And in the end—

He wins.

THE SCREEN FADES TO BLACK.

THE END.

….

And that was the moment - the whole of Hollywood had braces itself.

A new name had carved itself into the stone of the industry, not with noise or spectacle, but with precision, patience, and a voice entirely his own.

An exhilarating, unpredictable director had arrived. One who didn't follow trends—

He set them.

Now, all they could do was wait.

Wait, and witness the story that was just beginning.

Because if this was the starting point - the journey ahead was going to be unforgettable.
