Julian leaned back in his chair, clearly both amused and intrigued. "Now that's a woman who knows what she wants."
"Unfortunately," Alpha Hawthorne muttered, "she wants the wrong things."
Alexia raised her goblet toward him. "Cheers to that, Alpha. May you always be wrong."
"Will you only marry a trader?" Prince Julian asked, his tone still light, though his curiosity was genuine now.
"Anyone who lives in the capital," Alexia replied with a shrug, popping a grape into her mouth.
"But why?" Princess Celestite tilted her head. "Do you want to marry someone there just to stay closer to the Crown Princess?"
Alexia broke into a wide grin. "Bingo! I can't stay away from my bestie for too long. You think I'll survive without Portia?" She nudged her friend affectionately.
Princess Celestite giggled. "Then why don't you just marry Alpha Hawthorne? You'll be practically sisters."
