Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 – Zanpakuto

Continuing with the Roulette, Tatsuki spun it eight more times. He obtained two more items, both from Nami's world—Armament Haki Training Manual and Observation Haki Training Manual. Their effects were identical to the Rokushiki Training Manual: reading them would allow quick comprehension and mastery of these techniques.

Finally, on the tenth spin, the pointer stopped:

[Congratulations! You have obtained the S-Rank Ability: Zanpakuto!]

"Jackpot!" Tatsuki's eyes lit up.

[Ability]: Zanpakuto

[Rank]: S

[Effect]: Once you awaken its true name, you will unlock the sword's power.

It was plainly the Zanpakuto from Bleach. Unexpectedly, the Zanpakuto was counted as an ability rather than an item. After a moment's thought, Tatsuki spent 61,000 Points to upgrade it directly to Level 4.

Checking his updated status:

[Human]: Tatsuki

[Points]: 9000

[Abilities]:

B-Rank: Physical Enhancement (Lv 4), Lightning Dharma: Yin Lightning (Lv 3)

A-Rank: Intuition (Lv 4)

S-Rank: Gemstone - Vector Manipulation (Lv 5), Zanpakuto (Lv 4)

Satisfied, Tatsuki closed the chat group interface. A surge of energy coursed through his body, muscle fibers subtly rippling as if being remolded. When it subsided, he felt better than ever before. Merely flexing his fists made him sense an immeasurable strength flowing through him.

He was about to materialize the Zanpakuto and inspect it, but Eriri stirred.

"Mmm… are we really going for another round?" Eriri, sensing Tatsuki's movement, assumed he wanted to keep "gaming."

Tatsuki was about to explain, but Eriri beat him to the punch, seizing the future—in other words, she took the initiative once again, proving, as always, she was Eriri.

Feeling a bit guilty—like a scoundrel—Tatsuki simply opened the chat group again to shift his focus.

"Hmm?"

A new message caught his attention.

[Ainz has sent you an exclusive red envelope!]

He tapped to open it.

[You've received Ainz' exclusive red envelope and obtained 5,000 Apocalypse Points!]

"Huh?"

Tatsuki: "What's this for?"

Ainz: "Big boss! It's what you deserve. I did absolutely nothing in that battle—only survived because of your protection!"

Tatsuki: "Ah, well… if you insist."

Nami: "Hmm, the day I got rescued, I didn't do anything either, yet Tatsuki gave me his Points."

Tatsuki: "No, you did very well."

Nami, sitting at home, blushed bright red as she read that. She instantly picked up on Tatsuki's subtext.

"You jerk!" She yelled in exasperation, cheeks aflame.

From a distance, Nojiko watched her little sister throwing a tantrum and sighed inwardly. I know exactly who she's thinking about right now.

Saeko Busujima: "Seeing Tatsuki's combat prowess, I feel like my path still has a long way to go."

Nami: "Same here, but I'll work hard so I can at least help him!"

Tatsuki felt a warmth in his heart. Sure, he'd teased Nami about being "easy to get," but her sincerity had long since touched him. 'Ah, so this is a difference in personalities across worlds—she's the daughter of the sea, so free-spirited and direct.'

Exusiai: "Scary! I wonder if Tatsuki could kill 'the Boss'?"

Aqua: "Do you hate your own boss or something?"

Ainz: "Maybe the boss underpays employees? Terrifying."

March 7th: "Himeko mentioned corporations can exploit their workers pretty badly."

Saeko Busujima: "It's common worldwide—maybe those who don't exploit people can't become big capitalists in the first place."

Exusiai: "No, on the contrary, the Boss once helped me out a lot."

March 7th: "Then why would you want Tatsuki to kill him?"

Exusiai: "He's unkillable anyway."

Shinobu Kocho: "Unkillable?"

Exusiai: "He revives even after dying."

Tatsuki: "The Emperor… I doubt I could kill him right now."

The "Emperor" was Exusiai's Boss, the penguin in charge of Penguin Logistics—a record producer under Siren Records, a rap star, and a business magnate, among other identities.

Despite appearing to be a normal Terran penguin, he possessed a long life span and an immortal body, referred to as the "Beast Lord." Likely, it required some advanced, godlike power—authority over fundamental rules, laws, or primal forces—to truly kill a being of that nature.
