Chapter 128
After dropping down from the wind bird, Scarlet strode with purpose toward the direction Grey had pointed out—where he sensed mana and life force.
She surged ahead with her hands behind her back, propelling herself using fire, resembling a crimson rocket hurtling across the ground—though not as swift as when they were airborne.
"That peasant... how dare he command me?!" Scarlet hissed, flames trailing behind her. "If not for the sake of this mission, I would've scorched him on the spot."
Yet a flicker of doubt crept in.
'But can I even touch him?' Her mind flashed back to the time he had summoned the wind bird in an instant, and again during the assessment, when he had dismantled his opponent with terrifying ease.
She soon reached her destination. Slowing to a halt, Scarlet navigated through the smoke-veiled ruins of buildings licking with flames. Civilians were scattering, fleeing with desperation etched into their faces.
