The next day after Grey had been shown his room, he was seen sitting cross-legged, eyes shut and mumbling softly as he inhaled and exhaled deeply, moving his hands around in an attempt to get a feel of the mana in this unfamiliar place.

Knock! Knock!
A loud knock rang out from his door.
"Darn it!" he shouted in frustration, eyes snapping open as his concentration shattered. Angrily, he stomped toward the door. "Who the hell decided to ruin my concentration?"
"Human Grey, it's me," said the familiar voice of Old Man Jankis as Grey opened the door.
"It's Grey, not Human Grey. Anyway, what do you want?"
"To call you for your punishment," Jankis replied, and Grey sighed as he stepped out of the room.
"What am I doing?" he asked, and Jankis simply walked off, signaling for him to follow. With a resigned shrug, Grey did just that as they made their way around the palace.
