Lloyd hesitated for a second after hearing her question but still went ahead to place his order. He even ordered a cocktail for her.
"I will be right back," the bartender said, glancing briefly at Anna, who never spared him a glance but stared with knitted brows at Lloyd.
Once he was gone, Lloyd looked back at Anna, then shrugged. But as soon as he did that, Anna stood up.
"I will excuse myself then," she said and picked up her bag, ready to leave, but he grabbed a hold of her hand before she could take a step.
Anna looked looked at him with displeasure in her eyes, and he halted, as if reconsiderjng his actions, his finger coming off her hand for a moment, but his grip became firm again. "Stay, please. Just a little longer," he said.
"Why? Don't you want your sanity anymore?" Anna asked but made no attempt to shrug his hand off. Hearing him beg her to stay also didn't allow her to be rude or pretend that his touch didn't affect her.
