Milotic, the sea serpent-like Pokémon, embodied elegance and grace.
Her cream-colored body exuded a noble air, accentuating her serene beauty. Her ruby-like eyes, now glowing with a mysterious azure psychic energy, made her appear even more mesmerizing.
Her head was adorned with red, hair-like fins similar in color to Latias, accompanied by delicate red "eyebrows" resembling dragon whiskers. These features added a refined and majestic touch to her appearance.
Her tail, covered in shimmering blue and pink scales reminiscent of Latios's palette, was accented with black stripes, creating a harmonious blend of colors. At the tail's end, four large overlapping blue scales featured a red oval pattern in their center, resembling a fan in the hand of an aristocratic lady. Every aspect of her form was perfectly coordinated, rightfully earning her the title of "the most beautiful Pokémon."
"Fuwu~"
An ethereal and soothing voice echoed as Milotic effortlessly swam through the air, as gracefully as she would in water.
Having evolved, Milotic had mastered psychic abilities, allowing her to soar through the skies. Her command over water had grown immensely, enabling her to create massive waves with just a thought.
Her physical strength and vitality were greatly enhanced, granting her extraordinary resistance to injuries. A profound source of energy flowed within her, continuously elevating her capabilities—a gift she attributed to her elder siblings.
[Congratulations, Milotic,] Latios and Latias's telepathic voices chimed together.
[We infused our original energies, along with the powers of Dragon and Psychic-type Pokémon from the secret realm, into the Heart Drop,] they explained.
"Then the Heart Drop will transform the energy into the form most suitable for you, allowing you to merge with it during your evolution," Latios explained.
[Now, your potential rivals that of Pokémon from the secret realm,] Latios assured confidently.
By jointly channeling the power of "Infinity" with Latias, they injected energy into the Heart Drop. This energy, combined with the essence gathered from numerous Dragon- and Psychic-type Pokémon, was sufficient to elevate Milotic's potential during her evolution.
Although Milotic's current type remained solely Water, her affinity for Psychic and Dragon energy and moves had reached a remarkable level.
This was thanks to the unique ability, Adaptability, which Victor and Latios had discussed prior to this venture.
Victor first explained Adaptability to Latios. This ability enhances the power of moves that match the Pokémon's type while also granting extraordinary versatility in adjusting to various environments and external energies.
Victor then proposed a hypothesis: if Latios and Latias actively intervened during Milotic's evolution, could they increase her adaptability to Dragon and Psychic attributes, thereby elevating her maximum potential?
Latios agreed with this theory. While he and Latias alone might not influence a Pokémon's evolution, using the Heart Drop as a medium could make it possible.
The results were promising. Through the combined efforts of Latios, Latias, and the Pokémon of the secret realm, Milotic's affinity for Dragon and Psychic attributes reached a level where she could benefit from their bonuses.
Externally, Milotic's Water typing and resistances remained unchanged, but her capabilities had diversified significantly.
Thanks to Latios and Latias's intervention through the Soul Crystal Heart Drop, Milotic had learned Luster Purge and Mist Ball.
Milotic swam joyfully through the air, chasing and playing with Latios and Latias.
When it was time to return to the island, Milotic approached Latios quietly and spoke softly.
"Are you sure?"
"Fuwu~"
"I'm sure."
Latios hesitated for a moment before replying:
"My sister and I won't stop you, but remember—we'll always support you from behind."
Latias's slightly choked voice lingered in the air as the three Pokémon stayed together for a while before returning to the island.
---
"The moonlight is so beautiful," Victor murmured, gazing at the moon above him.
"Na na~" "Kaaah~"
Carbink and Incineroar responded cheerfully. The two Pokémon lay on the grass, admiring the night sky alongside their trainer.
Victor decided not to disturb Milotic while she spent time with her family.
"Fuwu~"
A soft, melodic voice broke the silence as Milotic descended gracefully, her body illuminated by the moonlight, carrying Latios and Latias on her back.
Seeing Milotic and the others return, Victor stood up quickly, brushing off the leaves stuck to his clothes. He smiled warmly at Milotic.
"Congratulations on your evolution, Milotic!"
"Na na~" "Kaaah!"
[Congratulations!]
"Fuwu~"
[Thank you, Victor. I have something I'd like to discuss with you,] Milotic said, her snake-like body gliding elegantly toward Victor.
"What is it?" Victor asked curiously, glancing at Latios and Latias for clues. But the two Pokémon simply closed their eyes and shook their heads, offering no response.
"Fuwu..."
[I want to travel with you and grow stronger on the journey. I'd like to join your team, like Carbink and Incineroar.]
Though Milotic maintained her usual grace, Victor noticed her tail swaying slightly, a subtle sign of nervousness.
"Of course! Welcome to the family, Milotic," Victor replied without hesitation.
"Na na~" "Kaaah!"
[Welcome!]
Although Victor was thrilled, he knew the opinions of Latios and Latias were crucial. After all, they were Milotic's guardians.
"Latios, Latias... do you agree?" Victor asked hesitantly, aware of how much they doted on Milotic.
[We have no objection. Milotic has already spoken to us,] Latias said gently.
Although reluctant to part with Milotic, both Latios and Latias understood that when the young wish to explore the world, the best they could do as siblings was offer their support.
Latios remained silent for a moment before speaking. [We agree, but... Victor, take this.]
From the sky descended a flute, entirely black with glowing orange-yellow patterns.
"This is... the Infinity Flute?" Victor asked, unsure, as he activated his system's scanning function.
[Infinity Flute (Legendary Item): No matter where you are, as long as you blow the Infinity Flute, you can summon Latios and Latias.]
The description was brief, but the item's power was extraordinary. While it lacked the ability to trigger Mega Evolution, the capability to summon legendary Pokémon was more than enough.
Victor realized this gift was all thanks to Milotic.
[This flute allows you to summon us in any moments of danger you cannot overcome—such as the Nightmare Pokémon or another evil group like the one you faced. When you feel the situation is beyond your control, use the flute to call us,] Latios explained, noticing Victor's astonished expression.
