"Mum.... Dad guess what?" Kelsie spoke into the phone excitedly. Besides her, Jessica felt both happy and sad about the call. She felt happy because her bestie's relationship with her parents seemed to increase never to decrease. She was sad because she does not have that kind of relationship with her parents and neither of them seemed to mind.
" I know...I know, I am sorry, let me calm down" Kelsie said into the phone and continued rapidly " of course mother, Jessica is here with me too, there is absolutely no way I am gonna leave her out of this phone call". Jessica smiled again as she heard her name and raised her head as Kelsie tapped on the table to get her attention.
" Are you kidding me.... Oh come on mum.... Alright alright, I am giving Jessie the phone" she scuffed into the phone as she handed the phone to her bestie. She then said aloud for both her parents and for Jessica to hear her clearly " I am indeed quite jealous, and just like that I have been discarded.... Hmph".
Kelsie smiled as she got the reaction she was expecting. The laughter coming from the phone and her bestie made her happy. She sat at the seat Jess had just vacated and looked at her on the phone call and wiped a tear from her eyelashes. For a while, the phone call and her bestie faded as she looked lost in thought. She then nodded her head calculatively after encountering some thoughts.
That was the scene Jessica saw as she dropped the phone and turned to her best friend. " Wow... I am sorry to whomsoever that thought was for. Gently extend my apologies to them... Okay Kelsie".
" Alright you bby, what are you talking about"
" Come on Kelsie, I got scared off the look on your face.... Where were you?" She asked worriedly after joking for a while.
Kelsie looked at her and just smiled" Believe me... You would not appreciate the thought ". She stood up and walked to the window" I really love the view of this room, it seemed so new and special from the start ". She placed a hand on the glass pane and turned to her best friend.
" Alright you.... Come on, let's go out"
" Oooh,, I do like where this is going. So where are we headed".
"You will get to know when we get there".
" Do I need a jacket " Kelsie asked as she sauntered into their room to change.
"Yeah, actually. Grab one for me too". Jessica said from the dressing room.
After dressing up and holding the jacket in their arms, they were ready to leave. Two steps close to the door and the hotel phone rang.
Kelsie groaned and stamped her feet on the ground " Leave it, whosoever is calling will just have to call back". She said and groaned again as her bestie skirted round to the answer the call. " Oh come on Jess".
" We just need to know who is calling and the reason why they are calling". Jessica said as she picked the call and smiled at the childish look on her bestie's face which Kelsie did not even bother to hide.
" Hi there.." Jessica said into the phone as a way of greeting. She opened her mouth to ask who was calling but did not get close to making that statement as Nathaniel's voice boomed in the phone.
" Jessica, my little darling, just the girl I wanted to speak with. What are you doing".
" Nathan... Long time dearest brother, I am about to leave for a night out with your sister"
"You guys deserve it but why are we hearing the news from our parents instead of our sisters"
Jessica smiled as Nathaniel sounded kinda boring. " Sorry yah.... We had no idea mum was going to tell you about it".
Before she could hear his reply, her bestie came around " Yo Nathaniel.... Put Hayden on the line. You have flirted with Jess for a long time"
Kelsie had to flinched as "Who told you it was flirting" resounded in her ear from both injured parties. She relaxed as Hayden's voice came to her rescue through the phone.
" Stop harassing my girl you all. How are you doing baby"
" Just fine, big bro. Your voice sounds ragged and seductive. Did you just wake". She glanced at her watch and gasped as she realized the time difference " why did you guys have to call by this time. You all need your beauty sleep". She whined.
" Stop your whining baby girl. We needed to hear our little daredevils voices"
" And it's much appreciated Hayden" Jessica said as she took the phone from Kelsie's hand.
" Hold on Jess, let me call you via your phone".
" Alright Hayden". She dropped the phone and reached out to her phone just as the screen came on with Hayden's name showing boldly.
" No more whining Kelsie". Her bestie shrugged as a way of answering.
" So.. I hear you guys wanna go out".
" Yeah, we got a little frazzled at the interview and we decided to cool off by going out"
" Okay baby. I am forwarding you a certain amount of money for you guys enjoyment".
" Oh my gosh.... Thank you so much Hayden". Kelsie said.
" Yeah. Extend our gratitude to Nathaniel also. Thank you".
" Will do that. And umm Jess".
" Yeah".
" We will like to hear the tea when you guys have free time. Okay lovelies". Hayden and Nathaniel asked in unison.
" Okay big bros. We promise". Kelsie and Jessica answered in unison.
" Bye big babies. Love you both".
" Bye darling. Love you too". They both smiled as they dropped the phone and giggled as the alert dropped in their phone.
Hayden sent to Kelsie and Nathaniel to Jessica.
" I still do not understand how you and Nathaniel rang off. You hid something from me ".
" Not at all darling. After he caught me crying both on my doorstep and in your room and comforted me. We just hit off, I guess".
" Alright dear, let's head outtttt". She said as she grabbed her jacket and dragged her bestie while giggling all the way out.
