Darren's POV
Three days passed quickly. Eventful and fun, with Diamond being exciting every minute.
She didn't stop talking about how she would change things once she moved in. To her, things were too old and gloomy. She didn't say anything when she was just a housekeeper, but as my wife, she had all the power.
The curtains were too dark. The painting was old-fashioned. The furniture was antique. The wine bar was too dull.
I just listened to her, watching her eyes light up as she planned to redecorate. I was going to let her change as much as she could, but something would definitely have to stay.
The day came for her to go home, and her face showed reluctance. It would only be for a while, but she didn't want to be away from me anymore.
"You have to go. Spend some time with your mother and the rest of your family. They've missed you as well. Let them see that you're alive and doing perfectly fine. Better than before, even."
"…okay. If you insist."
