The incident of Teal's mother's death shook me to my core; it was a headline story in every newspaper in the city. How could it not be, when the murderer was a member of the mafia? I sighed as I finished the report my brother had asked for about the sports city project.
"My head hurts. I should've gone back and taken the health reports with me instead of sending them home."
I was staring at the wedding ring Edward had given me. Sometimes I feel guilty, but work is work. Stealing information from Edward had been difficult and took me two months. This had to be my mission's end. I even found out about Lucifer and the truth that he was Teal's father. I closed my eyes tightly and sighed.
"I can't imagine what Teal is going through now. I thought that telling her the truth about her father would help her find a solution, settle things, and they'd return to living as a family. I never expected Lucifer would kill his first wife."
