As soon as the words were spoken, most of them ran toward the bus.
But just then, Mandalay smiled mischievously.
"Any little kittens who don't make it by 12:30 won't get lunch!"
"Sorry, everyone, but the training camp has already begun."
Pixie-Bob leaped forward, landed in front of the bus, and slammed her hand onto the ground.
In an instant, the earth around them loosened and rose up, pushing all of Class A into the forest.
Mandalay stood by the roadside fence, looking down at Ezaki Kitazawa and the others now at the bottom of the forest.
"This is private land. You're free to use your Quirks however you want. From now on, you have three hours—get to the facility on foot."
"Through this 'Beast Forest.'"
"Beast Forest?"
Everyone froze.
They looked out at the vast, endless forest in front of them.
"Why does this sound like something straight out of a fantasy game?"
"U.A. really likes throwing us into crazy situations."
"Yeah, just like the entrance exam. Always catching us off guard."
"Stop complaining. Complaining won't help. You heard what Mandalay said—if we don't get to the dorms in three hours, we won't get lunch."
"By the way… looking from up there, this 'Beast Forest' seemed suspicious. Knowing U.A., they wouldn't just let us stroll through so easily."
Todoroki Shoto started analyzing the situation. "Todoroki is right. There's definitely something strange about this forest. Looks like we won't be able to have lunch."
Yaoyorozu Momo nodded in agreement. "Something strange? Don't tell me there are robots like the ones in the entrance exam?"
Mineta swallowed hard as he listened to them. Meanwhile, Ezaki Kitazawa gazed at the slightly dark forest. The next second, his pupils suddenly turned blood-red, and everything inside the forest was reflected in his eyes. "Yeah, something's definitely off. There are a lot of monster-like creatures inside, but they don't look wild. They're probably something U.A. set up."
Ezaki Kitazawa spoke calmly. Upon hearing this, everyone turned their curious eyes toward him.
"Ezaki, do you know something about this?"
"Know something? Now that I think about it, Ezaki has been really calm since we got off the bus."
"What exactly do you know, Ezaki?"
They all assumed Ezaki Kitazawa had inside information.
"What are you guys thinking? I just saw it—I don't know any inside info."
"You saw it?"
Everyone curiously looked into the dark forest, but aside from the trees, they couldn't see anything unusual.
"We don't see anything."
"Yeah, me neither."
"It's just pitch black."
Ezaki Kitazawa didn't continue the topic and instead said, "Enough talking. If we don't get back to the dorms in three hours, we won't get food. I didn't have breakfast, so I can't miss lunch."
With that, he stepped forward and ran straight into the forest. The others hesitated for a moment before following.
Meanwhile, on the roadside, Mandalay walked up to Aizawa Shouta and sighed. "Eraserhead, your schedule is really a mess."
"Well, yeah. Normally, students would only be eligible for this in the first half of their second year, but we're making it part of this training camp. It's a bit rushed, but with villains getting more active, they need a way to protect themselves."
Aizawa spoke calmly. He was, of course, referring to the temporary hero license. Once obtained, it allowed them to use their Quirks in emergencies.
"Hey, let's go eat out."
Pixie-Bob walked up to Aizawa.
"The dorms aren't cooking today?"
Aizawa asked curiously.
"Oh, I forgot to tell them. It takes us three hours to get back to the dorms, so for them? If they make it back tonight, that'd already be pretty good."
Pixie-Bob explained.
"We still need to go shopping for food. A lot of stuff hasn't been bought yet."
Mandalay added.
Aizawa paused. For the rest of the students, it might take three hours, but for Ezaki Kitazawa, he definitely didn't need that long.
"Whatever. Nothing we can do about it. Let's go buy food and grab something to eat."
