Dust and debris shot skyward, blotting out the weak daylight as cracks split across the land. The sheer impact shook everyone to their core.
From where they stood on the outskirts of the battlefield, the group's collective gasp filled the air. Their wide, horrified eyes watched as the monstrous beast landed precisely where Alice lay, the crater swallowing both her and the Govark's mountainous bulk.
"No!" Bella screamed, falling to her knees, arms stretched hopelessly toward the destruction before her. The raw helplessness on her face mirrored everyone else's. There was no way anyone could survive being crushed under something that size.
