Chapter 22 - The Destruction of the Gods

Chapter: The Destruction of the Gods – Kael and General Ezekiel's Clash

Kael's steps shook the battlefield, and sparks seemed to fly from his eyes. His body grew stronger with each enemy he annihilated, and the power coursing through him intensified, darkening the world with every strike. But in that moment, he noticed: the General before him stood like a calm rock amidst all this destruction. Despite all the madness of Kael's power, this man never stepped back. As General Ezekiel advanced toward Kael, the divine power within him seemed to cut through Kael's strength like a blade.

There was no fear in Ezekiel's eyes. Instead, there was tranquility, a kind of inner balance. While everything around him perished, he stood almost patiently in the midst of this destruction. Kael's eyes also revealed something else: a dark shudder. This man understood him, and he was resisting him.

"Your power is not infinite, Kael," Ezekiel called, looking into Kael's eyes. "You will have to realize this before it's too late."

Kael advanced toward him in anger. His hand felt like it might shatter from the intoxication of battle. With every blow, every fracture, as he wiped out his enemies, he felt more and more lost. But at that moment, the General's silhouette seemed to vanish for a moment. Ezekiel, without touching anything, sprang from his position, dodging Kael's attack. In the gap of his attack, Kael realized that the enemy commander had disappeared like a ghost.

The General took a step back and faced Kael. "Do you think you can kill me?" he whispered. "My power is a gift granted by a spirit, Kael. A calm strength, untainted by darkness, unlike yours."

Kael held his breath and stared at the General. Suddenly, all his muscles tensed. A strange beam of light appeared around Ezekiel. The light turned to darkness in an instant. This light fed on a spiritual power. Ezekiel wasn't using words, but rather absorbing the energy of the battle around him and converting it into his own strength.

The beams of light surrounding the General acted like a shield against Kael's dark power. Both men reached out their hands, clashing their souls against each other. They fought, challenging each other's inner strength.

Ezekiel mixed into Kael's power and struck him with a heavy blow. Energy waves exploded around Kael's body, shaking the battlefield. Kael was knocked back by the impact but quickly regained his footing. For a moment, he felt that victory belonged to him. But the General's calm gaze stayed with him, almost as if teaching him a lesson, in contrast to Kael's rage.

"Your power will not last forever, Kael. The dark force is slowly consuming you. A momentary rage will destroy you," the General said.

Kael gritted his teeth and watched him. But something was different. The General's words were true. He was so powerful that everything felt unsolvable for a moment. The General seemed to have limitless strength. Kael couldn't summon the courage to move forward.

Gathering his anger and power together, Kael made one final move toward the General. But General Ezekiel had already anticipated his move. He was a warrior who could match Kael's power while remaining calm in the face of every blow.

Kael launched another attack. Each strike, each clash grew stronger. But the General's movements allowed him to evade the blows. At one point, Kael tried to unite his inner dark power and direct all his strength toward the General. But with one final move, Ezekiel blocked Kael's attack and struck back with such force that Kael was sent flying.

As Kael fell to the ground, the emptiness within him slowed for a moment. As he took a step back, the determination in the General's eyes began to weigh heavily on Kael.

Kael took one more step, but his strength was depleted. Every move the General made pushed him further back. Kael, with one last effort, tried to defeat the General. But in that moment, he realized that his divine power was uncontrollable.

Slowly pulling back, he tried to suppress his fear. But he realized something. He wasn't as strong as he thought. Despite all his superiority, this General was able to stand against him. The General's power challenged him. Kael began to retreat in fear.

General Ezekiel saw only one thing in Kael's eyes: fear. "Your power is limited to that of a mortal," he said. "It's too late for you to challenge me in this battle."

Kael glanced at the General one last time, trying to suppress his rage. But there was something else. Despite having this power, he still felt weak. He retreated, because he felt too weak to defeat the General.

The battlefield was filled with final blows. Kael slowly retreated, driven by fear and the instinct to survive, heading toward a temple.
