Chapter 71 - A Troublemaking Pair

"Yes, I do!" Little Lamb finally snapped, her burst of temper unexpectedly intimidating.

But the man before her remained utterly nonchalant, as though her words had sailed right past him.

This… was straight-up provocation.

Tang Mianmian gritted her teeth and warned him again, "I'm being serious! You can't keep getting jealous like this—it's going to drive all my friends away!"

"That'd be ideal," Long Yejue replied blandly.

To him, it didn't matter if her friends were male or female—if they took up her time, they were the enemy. As her husband, he had to strike preemptively.

Tang Mianmian stared at him in disbelief. Did he really just say that?

Where was the integrity he was always preaching?

Boss, do your employees know you're like this?!

"This is emotional manipulation! Authoritarianism!" she shot back.

"You can do it to me too. I won't complain." He shrugged, slouching back in his chair with a smug smile.

Tang Mianmian was fuming.

She had no comeback.

His arrogant expression made her blood boil.

Left with no other option, she pulled out her trump card.

She lunged at him and bit his lips hard.

That's for being smug!

That's for driving away my friends!

That's for being a possessive jerk!

She bit down with just enough force not to hurt him, thinking she was punishing him.

What she didn't know was—this kind of biting felt like kissing to a man.

And Long Yejue… was enjoying it.

Totally still, he let her do whatever she wanted to his lips, relishing every second.

After a while, Tang Mianmian sensed something was off. She pulled away and looked up—only to see that smug, pleased expression on his face.

What the hell?!

He actually liked it?

Long Yejue gave her a lazy smile, eyes half-lidded with satisfaction. "Go on, don't stop."

"…"

Stop your damn head!

She sat up straight, abandoning any attempt at reasoning with this man.

There was no winning an argument against him.

With a sigh and a heavy heart—especially about An Yi—she returned to her seat.

Long Yejue wiped the corner of his lips, his smile deepening.

Yep. Bringing her into the office was the best decision ever.

Emotional support? Check.

Improved work efficiency? Double check.

Workplace romance? Peak productivity.

To show she was truly angry, Little Lamb didn't say a word to him the entire day.

That didn't sit well with Long Yejue, who'd just gotten a taste of her sweetness. "Mianmian, hand me that file from the bookcase."

"…"

Get it yourself! she thought, flipping through a folder without even glancing his way.

He raised an eyebrow, already amused by her icy silence.

Fine then—he went to get it himself.

Moments later, he tried again. "Wife, go to the secretary's office and fetch the report for me."

"…"

Still ignored.

She slapped her documents loudly, as if making a statement.

Sighing, Long Yejue gave up. Fine, I'll call Cindy.

"Cindy, bring the report in," he said into the intercom.

Cindy entered with the paperwork, only to hear another command: "Tang Secretary, make me a cup of coffee."

"…"

Make your own damn coffee.

Mianmian stayed stone-still.

Cindy blinked, confused. Are they… fighting?

Still, she carefully approached Tang Mianmian and gently knocked on her desk. "Secretary Tang, the boss asked you to make coffee…"

Tang Mianmian shot a glare at Long Yejue, then coolly turned to Cindy. "You make it. He never likes how I make it anyway—waste of company resources. Doesn't align with our green office initiative."

Cindy: "…"

I'm just a humble bystander!

Caught between the boss and the boss's wife, she had no choice but to shuffle to the break bar and start brewing.

Meanwhile, Long Yejue leaned back, legs propped on the desk, staring openly at his sulking wife.

How long is she gonna stay mad?

"Secretary Tang, get me the latest personnel files."

Still not looking up, she replied, "Cindy, please get those files for your boss."

"…Got it," Cindy muttered, blinking as she fetched the documents.

Long Yejue didn't complain. He flipped through them idly before saying, "Now put them back."

"Cindy, return the files for your boss," Mianmian said again.

Cindy wanted to cry.

Please stop dragging me into this!

She accepted the documents, praying this weird cold war would end soon.

She returned to the coffee bar and wished that damn coffee would brew faster.

Thank God neither of them had started bickering again.

She carefully added sugar and walked it over—only for Long Yejue to say:

"Secretary Tang, come feed me the coffee."

"…"

Cindy's eyes went wide. He wants to be FED coffee?!

Would he ask her to do it next?!

Terrified, she turned to Mianmian—who looked just as shocked—then tried to dodge the fallout.

"Secretary Tang, I think you should handle this yourself. I have urgent work to do. Goodbye!"

She sped out of the office and shut the door behind her with a loud bang.

Silence.

Tang Mianmian stared at the door, then turned to him, fuming.

"Long Yejue, are you five?!"

This man… CEO of a conglomerate, and this is how he acts?

If people knew the true nature of the Long family's crown prince, the whole city would erupt.

What happened to his cold, dominant image?!

Long Yejue simply raised an eyebrow, still smiling. "I'm not childish."

"You are UNBELIEVABLE!" she snapped, slamming her hand on the desk. "How long are you going to keep this up?"

"For as long as you're mad," he said calmly, shifting the blame back to her.

Tang Mianmian gritted her teeth. There was no arguing with this kind of shamelessness.

"I'm not mad!" she said through clenched teeth.

"Then why are you grinding your teeth?"

She took a deep breath, then forced out again, "I'm. Not. Mad."

"Your eyes look angry."

She shut them, fought the urge to scream, and said softly, "I'm not mad, hubby."

Long Yejue's eyes lit up at the "hubby." "Then prove it. Come give me a kiss."

"…!"

Enough is enough!

She stormed over, planning to let him have it, but he pulled her into his arms first—and kissed her.

Her resistance melted instantly.

This kiss was different.

And when his hands began to roam, she realized he had something more in mind.

Damn it! This is the office!

She tried to pull away, only for him to slow down and gently trail his lips across hers.

His hands behaved—for now—settling on her waist, only lightly caressing.

Feeling reassured, she stopped struggling and gradually gave in.

Every kiss made her resistance fade more.

That was Long Yejue's power—irresistible and overwhelming.

She reached up, wrapped her arms around his neck, and returned the kiss.

His eyes burned with fire, nearly losing control.

He bit down gently and finally pulled away.

Looking down at her flushed cheeks, he grinned. "Still mad?"

"…No," she admitted weakly.

Not out loud anyway, she thought.

He pressed his forehead to hers, clearly satisfied. "Next time, don't tease me like that. If I lose control, it's you who suffers."

She nodded, face still burning.

At least he never forced her—that restraint touched her deeply.

"Alright, tidy up. We're going shopping," he said, pinching her cheek.

"Shopping?" she blinked.

They had everything—what could they possibly need?

"Yes, shopping. Useful stuff," he said with a devilish smile.

Something felt off, but she couldn't pinpoint it.

So she nodded.

Maybe it really is just shopping… probably.
