"Iris, you should sleep. You're very tired. Don't worry—Dad is here to protect you," Isakawa said with a soft smile.
His voice was soothing, wrapping around Iris like a lullaby. Her heavy eyelids fluttered as sleep pulled her.
As soon as she drifted off, Isakawa gently lifted her into his arms. His expression hardened as he turned to the remaining officers. "You guys should hurry up and fix this mess. Attend to the injured and revive the dead."
"Yes, Sir!" a group of officers shouted in unison, scrambling to follow his orders.
He shifted his gaze to a woman standing nearby. "Lina, follow me."
"Understood, Sir," Lina responded without hesitation, stepping in line behind him.
Without another word, Isakawa teleported, taking Iris and Lina with him.
They arrived in another section of the lab, the air sterile and filled with the hum of machines. White-coated researchers stopped their work momentarily as the group appeared.
