It was a long day. After Cedric finished handling the ghouls and making his way to the palace, he was drained from the battle.
It took longer than he expected, he had no idea so many ghouls were wandering close to the capital. The castle had gotten quiet, and the festivities had already dwindled. There were the sights of some drunks, an annoying sight popular during the spring festival.
Aside from Alfonso, this was one of the reasons Cedric preferred that Abrielle didn't wander around much since she had a talent for drawing trouble to herself.
Cedric walked down the silent hallway, his footsteps echoing with the midnight breeze that blew through the curtains over the rattling windows.
The lights flicker a bit. His eyes finally caught sight of the room assigned to him, recognizing two of his knights positioned around the door. Evelyn was temporarily staying in the room next door to be at Abrielle's service and beck and call.
