Max's smile faded slightly as he frowned, the question that had been bothering him finally slipping out. "Why did you and your mother come to the Lower Domain in the first place?" he asked, his tone filled with genuine confusion.
The thought had always been strange to him. The Five God Nation — or now, the Four God Nation — was the absolute peak of Planet Acaris. It was where the strongest lived, where legends were born. So why would someone with a powerful bloodline, someone from such a place, come down to the Lower Domain? It didn't make sense.
"I don't know," Alice replied, sighing quietly. "I've asked my mother many times, but she's never told me. She always avoids the question. Even my big brother has no idea. It's like some kind of secret only she knows."
