"Where do I sleep?"
Qiao Nian and Shentu Chu stared at the only bed in the house.
"There," he motioned to the bed with his chin.
"Then you?"
"Where else?" He replied, grinning at her.
"Ah!" Qiao Nian wrapped her arms around herself protectively, eyes wide with fear.
"Just kidding. I'll be sleeping on the couch tonight," Shentu Chu laughed, teasing her, fingers on his chin elegantly.
"Hmph!" Qiao Nian pulled the pillow away from his outstretched hand.
Shentu Chu couldn't help but tease the little girl to get a reaction out of her. That reaction was simply too cute. Every time he sees her, it made his chest swell with inexplicable joy.
The next morning, Qiao Nian woke up to the smell of noodles and soup. So fragrance!
She washed up and found Shentu Chu leaning over the stove, cooking.
"Shentu Chu, good morning," she greeted him.
"Morning, Nian Nian!" Shentu Chu seemed to be in a good mood. He lifted the pot cover and sniffed the wonderful aroma of the soup.
