To be honest, Yujin didn't hold much prejudice against White Zetsu.
In fact, he didn't really care about the future of the Shinobi World. Based on his current understanding, even if he lived to a ripe old age and died naturally, the "Infinite Tsukuyomi" plan wouldn't be implemented until long after his death.
Even if a flood engulfed the world in the future—what concern would that be to a corpse?
And to take it a step further, any future catastrophe would depend on the wisdom of those who came after. After all, this world had its destined saviors.
The dark conspiracy of Black Zetsu and White Zetsu would have to be thwarted by those chosen heroes. That kind of colossal responsibility was far beyond what a small fry like Yujin could carry. To his credit, he had always been self-aware enough not to imagine himself being involved in such high-level conflicts.
One could say that Yujin was still constrained by a fixed mindset. He hadn't yet considered the idea of "variables"—he simply assumed the world would continue along the course outlined in his memories.
Still, regardless of the future, the present had to be addressed. And so, with no psychological burden whatsoever, he made his move against White Zetsu.
A cancer to the Shinobi World—killing it was a righteous act for all.
What could he do? Yujin wanted those experience packs too badly.
"You... are not one of us..."
White Zetsu could feel its chakra rapidly fading. The person beside it had struck without warning and without honor—he was clearly no "kindred spirit."
"Why… can you… impersonate us… so well…"
Why indeed? It was beyond White Zetsu's imagination.
"Why? Honestly, I don't know either."
And it wasn't a lie. Yujin hadn't disguised himself at all—in a sense, he truly could be considered a White Zetsu.
For thousands of years, it had always been White Zetsu impersonating others—never the other way around.
This dying Zetsu didn't have time to ponder how Yujin had flawlessly mimicked one of its own. Its thoughts leaped ahead—
A ninja who could perfectly imitate a White Zetsu without being detected… What kind of catastrophic damage could someone like that do to the species, to the grand plan?
Potentially, fatal damage.
Unfortunately, even with that realization, it was already too late.
Yujin rapidly absorbed its chakra, and soon the hint of unease on his face completely disappeared. The enhancement brought by White Zetsu's chakra was instant and substantial. Yujin could feel his overall capabilities improving, bit by bit.
It was real—White Zetsu was actually an experience pack!
When Yujin used the Spore Technique to absorb chakra from other ninjas, he would gain a temporary boost in power. But that chakra was like water without a source—it would run out, and so would the strength.
In other words, ordinary chakra was like a "booster shot."
But White Zetsu was different. This confirmed Yujin's theory: absorbing White Zetsu's chakra gave tangible, lasting improvements to his base stats. This was the real deal—true experience.
It was practically an act of love. White Zetsu was so noble—its sacrifice could even be called martyrdom for a just cause.
For a moment, Yujin was tempted to become a devout follower of Lady Kaguya and treat White Zetsu like his long-lost half-brother.
Once every last trace of chakra had been drawn out, the White Zetsu finally died.
Yujin focused on his body's condition. His physical fitness, chakra quantity, and strength had all seen significant, positive growth.
The scale of enhancement was astonishing. A rough estimate told him he'd improved by about 20 to 30 percent.
If one White Zetsu could grant that much… what about all 1,157 of them?
At first, Yujin was elated—he began fantasizing about piloting a Gundam through the Shinobi World. But then he sobered up… Not every "experience pack" would give the same return.
The reason he gained so much from this one was largely because his own base stats were terrible to begin with.
Like in RPGs—early levels bring fast growth; high levels require exponentially more effort.
Still, regardless of scaling, the "experience pack" theory was now proven. Yujin had found his path.
He needed to find more lone White Zetsu. Who knew when the next gathering would happen? He didn't want to wait that long.
But that was a problem for later. For now, Yujin needed to leave.
Ending his "White Zetsu transformation," he cast a Fire Release jutsu at the corpse.
Blazing flames engulfed the body. As chakra overflowed into the fire, the orange-red flames shifted toward a blinding white.
The searing heat caused nearby trees to curl, shrivel, and char. Within minutes, the White Zetsu was reduced to ash.
The power of Yujin's chakra had clearly increased—even though it was the same jutsu as before, the destructive force had far surpassed what he could previously achieve.
Without hesitation, he turned and left the scene swiftly.
After traveling a great distance underground, he surfaced and slowed his pace. A new question was forming in his mind…
While casting that Fire Release, he'd noticed something different.
He picked a leaf, laid it flat on his palm, and let his chakra flow naturally.
Originally, with his chakra nature, the leaf should've dried up and ignited immediately. But instead, it first grew damp—then caught fire.
"Water nature…"
The surprising part was not just that he had water-nature chakra now—it wasn't the faint trace detectable only through a paper test. It was a mature, usable water-nature chakra like that of a trained Water Release user.
By absorbing that White Zetsu's chakra, Yujin had acquired a water chakra nature transformation.
"This is…"
Based on what he knew, White Zetsu didn't typically use elemental ninjutsu. There was no reason for one to be proficient in chakra nature transformation. So how had this happened?
A possibility struck him—perhaps chakra nature transformation was a latent trait of White Zetsu, something not tied to the Zetsu itself, but to what it had once been.
"White Zetsu… before becoming what it is, was once a shinobi from the ancient era. That one I just absorbed may have specialized in water nature chakra."
A skill buried deep within, long forgotten.
"No, that doesn't make sense…"
It was a reasonable theory, but Yujin dismissed it quickly.
All currently active White Zetsu were born during the first Infinite Tsukuyomi era—before the Sage of Six Paths had founded the ninja religion, before ninjutsu was even a concept, and long before chakra nature transformations were developed.
Back then, those unfortunate humans weren't even shinobi.
After becoming Zetsu, they no longer needed ninjutsu either.
Yujin was stumped.
"Maybe ancient humans did understand chakra transformation, just not the jutsu forms? Like a master archer born before guns were invented?"
That was the best explanation he could come up with.
The truth, however, was that Yujin's understanding had a critical flaw. In the original canon, details about the ancient times were always vague. In reality, the first generation of White Zetsu were not former ninja—they were ordinary people.
Kaguya Otsutsuki consumed the chakra fruit and cast Infinite Tsukuyomi to destroy hostile human nations, not to counter her two rebellious sons.
Yujin had long believed that White Zetsu were created from captured ninja during the war against Kaguya. In truth, White Zetsu were born before that battle ever happened.
Later, the divine brothers sealed the Ten-Tails and sent their mom to the moon. They dispelled Infinite Tsukuyomi, founded ninshū, spread chakra, and ushered in the ninja era. That's how Hagoromo became the mythical Sage of Six Paths.
In short, Yujin's theory that "White Zetsu were formed by hanging ninja on the God Tree" was completely wrong—their previous lives had simply been regular humans.
So all his analysis… amounted to nothing.
He thought he had uncovered the secret behind White Zetsu's hidden chakra nature transformation, but in truth, he had completely missed the mark.
Still, the important thing was this: he now had water-nature chakra.
And if he had it, naturally he wanted to try using Water Release jutsu.
Excited, Yujin brought his hands together in a hand seal—only to pause awkwardly after a moment, letting his arms fall again.
Having chakra nature didn't mean he knew the jutsu. He didn't even know the seals for Water Release.
Try it?
Not a chance.
