"Young man, forbidden techniques should not be used recklessly," said Tobirama Senju.
Kabuto retorted, "Coming from you, that's hardly convincing."
Hashirama Senju, standing nearby, nodded in agreement. "I have to say, this young man has a point. The one who loved researching all sorts of bizarre forbidden jutsu was none other than you, Tobirama."
"Big Brother! Shut up!"
"Don't interrupt when I'm scolding someone!" Tobirama snapped at his elder brother, clearly annoyed.
Hashirama, looking aggrieved, pouted, "Aww, Tobirama, you're so mean!"
Watching her two overly lively grandfathers, Tsunade let out a helpless sigh. "Grandfather, Second Grandfather, this really isn't the time for this."
"Ah... You're little Tsuna!" Hashirama's eyes lit up as he recognized her. A mix of surprise and joy filled his gaze.
He gestured with his hands, remembering how small she had been when he passed away—barely reaching his knee.
Overwhelmed by long-lost familial warmth, Tsunade's expression softened. Only she knew how she had survived those difficult years. Though honored as the "Princess of Konoha," she had lost her parents, and both her grandfathers had passed away one after another. She had been only five or six at the time, and with the Senju Clan dissolving, she would have been left completely alone if not for Uzumaki Mito.
"Now's not the time for reminiscing," Tobirama reminded them, ever rational. "Why have we been summoned through the Edo Tensei?"
At that moment, Jiraiya stepped forward. "To be honest, we're facing an incredibly dangerous enemy."
"We had no choice but to seek the aid of the previous Hokage."
"Jiraiya, are you the Hokage now?" asked Hiruzen Sarutobi, standing among them, noticing Jiraiya wearing the Hokage's ceremonial robes.
"Yes, I'm the Sixth Hokage," Jiraiya replied.
"Sixth?" Hiruzen was taken aback. It wasn't too surprising that Jiraiya would become Hokage, given that after his own death, the only viable candidates had been Jiraiya and Tsunade. But Tsunade was clearly alive and well, so how had Jiraiya ended up as the Sixth?
"Sixth?" Hashirama also looked surprised. Turning to Tsunade, he asked, "Little Tsuna, how old are you now?"
"How did Konoha go through so many Hokage so quickly?"
"It does seem a bit fast—after all, Iwagakure is still on its Third Tsuchikage," Kabuto remarked.
"Nani!?" Hashirama turned to Hiruzen. "I know you died sealing us away. That much is clear."
"But who was the Fourth Hokage? And how did they die?"
Minato Namikaze, standing silently, awkwardly scratched his head. "First Hokage-sama, I was the Fourth Hokage."
"I died sealing the Nine-Tails."
"The Nine-Tails!?"
"That thing can actually kill someone?" Hashirama exclaimed, as if he had just heard something absurd.
Nine-Tails' chakra rumbled in response: "Who's underestimating me!?"
Then, realizing it was Hashirama, the beast immediately backpedaled: "Ah, never mind. Carry on."
Minato, now even more embarrassed, continued scratching his head.
"So you were the Fifth Hokage then?" Hashirama turned to the last unfamiliar face among them. "Why do you look as old as Sarutobi?"
The man who had been trying to remain unnoticed—Danzo Shimura—was finally exposed.
"Danzo! How did you become the Fifth Hokage!?" Hiruzen was utterly shocked. This wasn't how things were supposed to go! A sense of dread washed over him.
While Danzo had been bold and ambitious during his time, Hiruzen had deliberately delegated all dark and unsavory matters to him. This was a strategic move to ensure Danzo could never rise to the position of Hokage. After all, no one would ever support a leader with such a tarnished reputation.
"Hmph!" Danzo snorted. "Hiruzen, my rise to Hokage was the will of the people! What's with that tone of yours!?"
"Danzo, is that so?" Tobirama questioned. "Then tell me—how did you die?"
"I died protecting Konoha!" Danzo declared proudly.
Tobirama nodded. "At least you showed some backbone. Unlike the cowardice you displayed back in the day."
Tsunade, however, wasn't having it. "Second Grandfather, don't be fooled. If not for him, Konoha wouldn't be in this state."
"This state? What happened to Konoha?" Hashirama asked, concerned.
Jiraiya hesitated, then admitted, "Right now, Konoha only has the Nara, Akimichi, Yamanaka, and Sarutobi clans left, along with a few scattered civilians. Everyone else has defected."
"NANI!?"
"That's basically the size of a small shinobi village!" Hashirama was in utter disbelief.
"But the last time I was summoned with Edo Tensei, Konoha was doing fine! How did things collapse so quickly!?"
"All thanks to that old bastard Danzo!" Tsunade snapped.
Danzo gripped his cane tightly in anger. "What do you know!? Everything I did was for Konoha!"
"Explain everything," Tobirama ordered.
"This old scoundrel, after becoming the Fifth Hokage, was obsessed with war, ruthless in his methods, and completely deluded about his own abilities. He kept initiating conflicts, weakening Konoha battle after battle. Eventually, even the remaining shinobi clans and civilians lost faith and abandoned the village."
Tsunade detailed Danzo's reign of terror—his forced conscription of shinobi into Root, his heavy taxation, and his reckless experiments that led to the deaths of countless people in an attempt to create a tailed beast army.
"Danzo! This is how you governed Konoha!?" Tobirama's aura flared with overwhelming pressure, revealing for the first time the true might of a near-Six Paths level shinobi.
As the weakest Hokage in history, Danzo could barely withstand the pressure. Trembling, he gritted his teeth. "First Hokage-sama! Second Hokage-sama! Everything I did was for Konoha!"
"It was only because of Akatsuki's overwhelming strength that I ultimately failed!"
"And worst of all, that bastard even used Kotoamatsukami to control me!" Tsunade finally shouted, her face red with anger and humiliation.
"Kotoamatsukami?" Hashirama tilted his head in curiosity.
"A Mangekyou Sharingan technique—it can fundamentally alter a person's thoughts," Tsunade explained. "This old bastard used it to manipulate me!"
"You bastard!" Hashirama roared, slamming his fist into Danzo's face, shattering him into pieces.
"Wait—how did Danzo even get a Mangekyou Sharingan?" Tobirama questioned.
Hiruzen hesitated before answering, "Second Hokage-sama… Danzo stole it from Shisui Uchiha."
"Shisui? Wasn't he one of our own?" Minato was bewildered. He had died before the Uchiha Massacre and knew nothing about what transpired afterward.
"The Uchiha were accused of treason and were wiped out," Hiruzen admitted grimly.
Tsunade sneered. "Old man, don't even try to cover it up. We know exactly what you and Danzo did to the Uchiha."
With multiple survivors revealing the truth, there was no hiding the past anymore.
"So Danzo stole the Mangekyou from his own comrade?" Tobirama's voice turned cold. "Danzo, what do you have to say for yourself?"
"First Hokage-sama! Second Hokage-sama! Everything I did was for Konoha!"
"Enough. I'll seal him permanently!" Tobirama declared, enraged.
But Hashirama stepped forward. "No need. I've already taken care of it."
Meanwhile, Kabuto smirked silently.
Danzo, you finally got what you deserved.
